Keeping Up Appearances was a British sitcom created and written by Roy Clarke. It originally aired on BBC1 from 1990 to 1995. The central character is an eccentric and snobbish middle class social climber, Hyacinth Bucket (Patricia Routledge), who insists that her surname is pronounced "Bouquet". The show comprised five series and 44 episodes, four of which are Christmas specials. Production ended in 1995 after Routledge decided to move on to other projects.

Absolutely fantastic show ,still loved and will go on through all eternity, R.I.P to all the dear cast that have passed...when I get down sometimes I think of Hyacinth and her line ''The trouble with you Violet is you haven't enough Royal Doulton to clean'' when Violet told Hyacinth she was feeling down...That still makes me lol to this day...just one of so many one liners ,everyone in the cast was so great and loveable.

I were lucky enough to meet Patricia Routledge a few years ago, ,a lovely lady, an incredible career..it was such a privilege to work with her, and we even had a piccie together..one of the memorable nights. I can`t believe she is now 90..It seems the role of Rose was a bit unlucky, both actresses dying younger than some of the other cast members...this video is a great record of those characters, and the people who played them..

NOT SO SERIOUSLY ! lol One common mistake: English actor, Mary Miller (deceased 2020) is often mistaken for MARY IRENE MILLAR (nee Wetton) who gave us several "belly laughs " as the beautiful "ROSE" who was constantly searching for that one special fella over and over and over again. Sadly, Mary Millar passed away on the 10th of November , 1998 when she was lost to ovarian cancer a the age of only 62. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

@@thatswhatisaid8908 Her over-the-top, pretentious ridiculousness is the essence of satire. She is poking fun at the 'would-be-if-they-could-be' members of society. I absolutely loved this show when it was on television back in the old days, and a few months ago, I streamed everything, and it was still just as funny. Onslow is my favourite character :)
