I remember this episode. As a Jamaican, a lot of what she said is wrong. Yes, modern Jamaicans don’t cook everyday because of time constraints in their busy personal lives, but us Jamaicans expect restaurants to be making their food fresh daily. We don’t like dry jerk chicken. If we buy jerk chicken and it’s dry, we just don’t buy from that person again.
@thedinkster21633 ай бұрын
I tried three Jamaican restaurants. The first two were what I'd call American Jamaican. So I figured that's how it was. The third place, oh my lord. The food was amazing. The servers were super nice and welcoming, they had pictures of different Jamacian areas on the menu and the Jamaican server just saw us looking and and pointing to them and she came over and told us about them, explained more about the area, absolutely best servers I've ever had in my life. And some of the best food I've had.

I remember this episode vividly because I am Jamaican and was proud to see a fellow Jamaican with a restaurant selling our food. However, I quickly realized that "The Doctor" was a classic narcissist who controlled everyone and everything around her, including her son, whom she often emasculated. She looked at everyone, including her own son, as subordinates to her. Gordon was sympathetic and empathetic towards her. However, she definitely needed a reality check regarding how she treated people around her.

She has also done a few different their business(like a bed and breakfast or a yogurt shop) as well but her open track record is lower for them than rescued salons. Brownes and CO I recommend checking out for a glimpse into the show. There also The Proft where this guy comes in to help failing business. Depends on the state, while not 100% in the majority of cases it depends on if its a red or a blue state. Blue states tend to have more worker protections, red ones less so. But technically they are all (with the exception of Montana) at will employment which means an employer can fire an employee at any time for any reason as long as its not illegal. The what is illegal part is what varies between states. But I think in most "because I wanted to" will work.

You need to study a little bit more before making assumptions and throwing around “Third World Countries” if you’re not familiar with Jamaica. First of all, if you studied world economics you would know that Jamaica has one of the largest economy in the Western Hemisphere and 9th total economic growth in the world. Jamaica also is third behind Bahamas and America in tourism per capita and has one of the largest tourism markets globally. Just because population is majority “BLACK” doesn’t mean it’s a third world country and in desperate need of Caucasian economic development. Secondly, if you think just watching a random video of Jamaican cuisine and believe that it can’t be served fresh is ignorance at its finest. In fact, Jamaican food is served FRESH and I know personally because my wife is from Port Royal, Jamaica and we visit her family yearly so I’m very familiar with the beautiful island called Jamaica. Everything is served fresh, delicious and mouth watering. Jerk chicken isn’t “Dry” either it’s very moist due to the selection of chicken and goat used for the dish. And don’t hand me American cuisine is made with fresh ingredients, when Taco Bell’s and other fast food restaurants uses reheated beef and chicken. That’s how it’s served FAST because it’s NOT fresh it’s reheated food, and I know because my father owns a chain of franchise fast food restaurants and I grew up working in my dad restaurants. And no, we didn’t go against corporate standards because corporate does all of the training and have “Secret Shoppers” that make sure you’re obedient to their standards. And my dad restaurants still in business today, and himself and my brother opened up two more “Micky” restaurants since KZbin deletes comments that they believe is advertising/spamming so I’m not going to list the name but give a slight hint. What Dr Morris is saying is Jamaican food can’t be cooked fresh and fast like what Americans has grown accustomed to since the founding of fast food restaurants. Jerk chicken takes hours to prepare, if Dr Morris does what my wife does in our restaurant that we own together and focus on preparation, then she can serve fresh Jamaican food. But Dr Morris is cheap and doesn’t want to pay staff to prepare food hours before service, that has nothing to do with Jamaican food that’s someone personal preference and it doesn’t reflect on Jamaican cuisine and culture. My wife and I just opened another restaurant in Charlotte and we’re looking forward to slowly build our restaurants that serve Caribbean cuisine which includes fresh seafood and steak. My wife is a “Michelin Star” chef who specializes in Caribbean cuisine and she started out as a cashier at my father’s restaurant. I’ve quoted WBO or World Bank Organizations United Nations reports as of July 25,2024

@@gregd4633 Yet has infrastructure, development, standards of living, corruption, and crime on a third world level. It is technically and structurally third world, maybe scraping near the end scale of second. Oh, let's not forget that it's debt is so astronomically high, it's torpedoes it's GDP ratio to one of the lowest in the weak; eroding any real impact of it's economic prowess. Also referring to it as one of the largest economies is a touch dubious at best, partly owing to the fact that it's grossly underdeveloped and painfully reliant on tourism. The latter of which has been struggling due to the previously mentioned elements of high corruption and crime.Even if it isn't considered the poorest third world nation, especially in comparison to some of its neighbors, it is recognized as one, and that is an actual fact and not opinion. Funny that, isn't it? I also love that you insinuate that any measure of criticism towards it has to be racially motivated. Maybe you need to study far more before throwing assumptions around, cuck.
