This really feels like a 100k channel but it's a channel with 4k subscribers! I'm impressed! Keep up the good work

Well I guess that's one reason not to buy it. I was just upset about the abisive crunch culture with Naughty dog. Good video man

I think this is a case where in attempt to capture the lighting in a bottle that was the last of us part 1 they wanted to do something completely different and challenging but failed. The problem is in their attempt for ambition they ended up trying to do too much. They introduced too many characters and expect us to care about them, with each of them not getting enough development. They try to mirror both sides of the story for added effect but it ends up feeling forced and manipulated. By trying to subvert our expectations and surprising us they end up doing things that feel out of character and forced. Not only that but story feels waaay too long. It feels like the last of us 2 and 3 crammed into one game. I still have faith in Naughty dogs writing team because there are some genuinely well written moments(The flashbacks and the Take on me scene) in the game but other than that when they try to be "challenging" the story falls flat. When I hear of the early versions of the game I wonder why didn't they go with that? They originally wanted the game to have multiple open world hubs(1 in Jackson, 1 in seattle, and 1 on the Island), think of multiple havens cities from jak 2. The original version would of had you spend more time with joel and him dying at the end of the jackson section and Ellie goes on to the next hub in seattle. Not only would this design allowed for us to spend more time with the new characters but we would of had more time for old characters. It would of made their trials and tribulations of all the characters more impactful. Not only that but Abby was originally going to die at the end. I wish they had gone with their original vision because I think it would of been much more innovative and characters would feel more fleshed out. It seems as if there was a lot of cut ideas, many of which they haven't revealed because Naughty has said that "they might want to reuse them for future projects". TLDR: They were too ambitious and wanted to make something challenging and it fell right on its face. And earlier versions of the game seem much better then the final product we got.

Personally you kind of lost me at the whole “reviews are bought” argument since that makes no logical sense. Plenty of people who’ve been in the industry and left have proven this idea to be false and the few times it turned out to be true those reviewers were fired and called out for it. I find the perfect scores surprising mostly due to how divided the opinions on this game are but I highly doubt it is because reviews are bought since I’ve seen reviewers and people in person tell me the game was the best game of the year or the worst game of the year. I think it is simply put a divisive game that you either love or hate as I don’t see a whole lot of in the middle on this game. Reminds me a lot of the Last Jedi in that sense. I still love the content though and have subscribed as I’m looking forward to future content.

TLOU2 is non canon or most likely Ellie's worst nightmare.

It was not just about money. If the game journalists didnt review it a 9 or higher they would have also lost from sony exclusive sneak peaks, interviews, first gameplay, etc. So most of them ovelooked the awfull story.

Im gonna platinum this game just because i saved my 50th platinum spot for it for a long time and the last of us 1 is a very special game to me so i think i owe it that in some way, as well as it being a pretty easy platinum. On a side note the biggest thing im taking away from this game is sadly that it disappointed me so much when i was so excited for it, that it reminded me to be grateful for the sequels or things i was so hyped for that lived up to it.

I think the story was outstanding but the delivery of it wasn’t. You’ll either have to replay it or dissect it in order to appreciate it. I didn’t see you mention Abby’s half at all (aside from the bit about Joel) so if you never played that bit it’s almost impossible you’ll like the story. Anyways, great video as always! Figured I’d go back and watch this since I finished 1 and 2 not long ago.

The only good thing is that Joel wasn't in this game. Sure there was someone with the same name and that looked like Joel but other then that might as well be different.

I just finished Part II and I honestly loved it almost as much as the first game. I really connect to Ellie’s character, and this is now my favorite video game franchise (even above my childhood favorites Crash and Spyro). With that said, I can totally understand why the story of this game disappointed a lot of gamers. All the respect to you and your opinion, sir!
