Nah that’d be fuckin funny. “Wait no guys he’s alive.” Voldemort just feels a shroud of fear and Harry’s like “welp, jig is up.” And does the expeliarmus avada kedavra clash thing then hunts down the snake. But no for real though, what was going on in her head when she actually saw the killing curse hit him directly and it’s known to be the 3rd time he survived. I’d be very mystified as to how the actual fuck this baby teenager is basically immune to not just any killing curse, but a curse from the most powerful wizard alive.

Harry got the Elder wand not from defeating Voldemorte but because he bested Draco at the manor who bested Dumbledore. Harry being alive sent most of Voldemorte’s side fleeing and brought hope and bravery to the others.

in the book harry (as the narrator) assumes that she knows if she says harry is dead, she will be able to enter hogwarts with the rest of the death eaters as part of the conquering army, which would allow her to find her son. so at least harry assumes she does it out of self-interest, not because she wants to save harry or something. in pottermore it says "Narcissa risks everything when she lies to Voldemort at the end of Deathly Hallows and tells him that Harry is dead, merely so that she can get to her son."

Tom Felton did an excellent job of portraying someone who was torn between two worlds. He was never truly an evil character, he was more a product of his environment and parents than anything. Constantly pushed to become evil by the Death Eaters in his life, yet shown every day at Hogwartz that people who aren't pure bloods can be good really developed a psychological torment within him that manifests well in the last two movies.

I refuse to believe that Narcissa was truly ever bad. The worst crime I can imagine that she ever did was that she spoiled Draco. He was just a skinnier, stuck up and magical form of DudIey. I have a warm place in my heart for her. She was, in my opinion, bullied by her family to make sure she married into the "right family/blood line". She didn't turn Harry in. That has to speak for something. Draco did turn himself around and became some what a better person. The Cursed Child is proof. Now Lucius, hmm, I think he was just rotten to the core. He had nice hair. Lol, and he was handsome. But that's all the good things I can say about him. 😆

Draco was a bully and a really big dick, but by Half Blood Prince he was essentially backed into a corner. He had to kill Dumbledore or his family would die to Voldemort. Dumbledore acknowledges Draco still had some good in his heart which is why he asked Snape to be the one to kill him instead of Malfoy, and is even nearly successful in getting Malfoy to drop his wand. Something Harry makes note of. Narcissa also seemed to be drug into the death eater circle, although never joined. She always valued her family, specifically Draco over the death eater’s missions. She was even willing to lie and betray Voldemort purely for the chance to see her son again. In a way you could say motherly love is what saved Harry from Voldemort for a second time that night. Lucius was definitely a douche, and did the most damage, but he did give up the names of many death eaters so he at least tried to make up for his past actions, albeit in a pretty cowardly way. Honestly the Malfoys for the most part just seem like a family who dug themselves too deep on the losing side and wanted out once their family was in danger.

Draco's poor bully-like behavior isn't that strange imo. He had a family influencing him to effectively be the way he was, and when you think of James Potter being equally as bad as a bully, it's more forgivable in his case imo. Draco maturing up at the end of the series is how James Potter matured up after leaving Hogwartz.

Harry went back and saved Drako (and 1 or 2 others) in the room of requirement when it was burning. Then, Drako's mother asked Drako (whom we don't see, just Harry's nod) if Harry was "alive" right after Voldemort "kills" him in the forest. In the end, Drako and his family were part of the plot to bring Voldemort down.

Narcissa helped Harry when he lay on the forest floor pretending to be dead, she didn't tell you-know-who that Harry was still alive, i think for this the Malfoys were not imprisoned in Asaban after the second wizzarding war, they faught on the wrong side, but Draco never was realy a bad guy, he was a death eater to help his family after the events in the ministry of magic, but he did not tell Bellatrix that Harry was the boy captured and brought to Malfoy mansion, and he could not kill Dumbeldore, he was born as a pure blood, but in real, he was too normal to do the realy bad things, he could have tried to kill Harry insted of talking to him when they found the Horcrux, but he didn't. For me he is not as bad as he seemed to be most of the films (and to be honest, Harry would never have become a searcher in his first year had Malfoy not helped him by throwing the rememberme? and he did not use avada kedavra when they fought in the toilets. Lucius might have done bad things as a death eater in the first war, Narcissa maybe too, but in the end, they stood up and helped defeat the dark lord

i just imagine Draco seeing Potter now and again at places like the ministry or the station and the pair have this... awkward, non-violent but evident distrust of each other, but with a modicum of respect for each other. Not hatred, not anger. Not even dislike. just... they cant bring themselves to trust the other anymore. And leave it as polite nods and a few simple greetings.

I like to think that Draco made up with Harry and the two gradually became friends. I'd have to watch the films again, but judging by the image of mature Draco smiling at Harry, I'd say at the very least they respected each other by that point. No more bickering or fighting, just two men who had a troubled past now see each other for what they truly are; fellow wizards who survived a dark age.

While "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is not perfect, the friendship between misfit Slytherin sortees Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy and Albus Severus Potter also helps their dads Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter bury their own rivalry with each other, no thanks to Lord Voldemort's and Bellatrix Black Lestrange's daughter Delphini's treachery.

One small quibble: you say that Lucius’s behavior in the earlier books and movies amounted to “harmless bullying” and escalated to something worse later. I see it differently. To me, no bullying is harmless. Lucius harbored the same capacity for cruelty and race discrimination throughout; however, the political circumstances changed when Voldemort rose back to power, enabling Lucius to display the inmate tendencies he had had all along. I believe that Narcissa was more capable of changing than her husband. She and Harry communicated about Draco’s welfare under Voldemort’s very nose in the Forbidden Forest, which placed them both in great danger. Harry could’ve just played dead. Instead, he allayed her greatest fear, and she reciprocated by covering up the fact that he had survived the Killing Curse-again. From that moment on, Narcissa was beholden to Harry-and I doubt she’d forget that act of kindness. It was Narcissa who took Draco’s hand and led him away from the Deatheaters during the Battle of Hogwarts. She didn’t look back to be sure that her husband was following. She was extricating her son from the result of her husband’s poor choices. I wouldn’t be surprised if the balance of power in their marriage permanently shifted from Lucius to Narcissa after that. He couldn’t do without her, but she could do without him. I’m not saying that Narcissa dropped all of her old values, but I imagine that she took a more neutral stand about muggles and half-bloods after that.

I would say that I'm overall pleased with how Draco was portrayed. Even from a young age when I saw the first movie, I had Draco pegged for _what kind_ of Antagonist he was going to be. I saw him as the _Rival_ Character to Harry...but I didn't see him going as far as to be the _Villain_ or the _Nemesis._ Morally ambiguous characters are fun to play with, but they almost always inevitably prove to be more than outward appearances, and garner some kind of redemption. So in this sense, I'm glad that Draco followed the path that I predicted. However, I would state that Rowling perhaps had him fly a little _too close_ to the side of villainy to the point where - with his reluctant state and all - he feels like he's being _forced_ to become a Villain rather than genuinely being one. And that's a problem that I have with Draco throughout most of the books leading up to Half-Blood Prince. You see, we basically _stop learning_ about Draco after Chamber of Secrets and instead learn things _surrounding_ him. We get the sense that he is the way he is because of his Father's bringing him up that way. From then on, for want of a better term, Draco feels more like an accessory - an extension of his parents' beliefs - that has no real character or philosophy of his own. This was a problem confounded by the fact that all he really does is be a bully towards Harry, Ron and Hermione. In-fact, that he chooses to go-along with Umbridge and her insane micromanaging just because she's against Harry, doesn't feel _genuine_ to me; because realistically, Umbridge should be making the school just as restrictive for them as well. Truth be told, I feel like Rowling waited a bit too long to finally give Draco a spotlight; she should've began developing him more in Order of the Phoenix - perhaps casting a subtle shadow on him meant to imply that there is a light to him after-all. In fact, I honestly think Order should've been the point where Draco began turning away from being an antagonist, while still being a Rival to Harry. There could've been a moment where the two might've been on the cusp of becoming Friends...only for Lucius to be captured in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. From then on, Draco is pulled back toward the dark side for love and loyalty to his father and anger at Harry for sending him to jail. I feel like that's how you turn Draco's relatable story in Half-Blood into a full-on tragedy; you _know_ he wants to be good, that he doesn't want to do this...But if he doesn't, everyone and everything he cares about will die.

Narcissa wasn’t bad at all. She may have been prejudice against muggles and muggle-borns but that doesn’t necessarily make her a bad person. She loved her family very much, and wanted to protect Malfoy at all costs. Draco obviously had redeemed himself long before the end, but Lucious is a mixed bag. I think he joined Voldemort for all the wrong reasons, namely his hatred of muggle-borns. I suspect he had come to regret this decision long before we saw Tom start to abuse Lucious, and Tom being a gifted Legilimens was able to detect Lucious’s betrayal, which is what lead to Voldemort treating him the way he did.

The Malfoy's existence runs in some ways parallel to the Dursley's. Even on a character level, Vernon and Lucius. Narcissa and Petunia, Draco and Dudley. Vernon and Lucius would never change their views. Narcissa and Petunia are intolerant and unwavering but love their children. Draco and Dudley are typically spoiled children who turn into bullies and troubled adults.

Narcissa never struck me as a death eater, she always seemed to have been dragged along with her family and husbands plans. She lies to Voldemort about Harry being dead in exchange for him telling her if Draco is alive, she risks the dark lords ire by going to Snape and begging him to make an unbreakable vow to protect Draco because she doesn't think that he is capable of doing the task he was assigned, she is afraid he is being sacrificed to send a message to Dumbledore and to punish Lucius for his failures.... She always struck me as someone who was just trying to protect her family, even if she had to protect them from themselves. Lucius? death eater through and through, pure blood maniac and had on more then one occasion either attacked or attempted to kill Harry and other wizards. without dobby intervening in the 2nd movie (can't remember if they elaborate on which spell he is casting after losing Dobby as his servant in the book), he would have cast a killing curse at Harry. And in the hall of mysteries he is arrested for attacking the people there and sent to Azkaban as a death eater. Draco? spoiled little rich kid who has been sheltered by his parents and spoiled rotten. So insulated from the world that he thinks he is better and more worthy then anyone. but when push comes to shove, he is a coward. He only fights when he has either no choice or a massive advantage. Minor advantage, even playing field, or any disadvantage and he runs away or begs forgiveness. Lucius deserved to spend more time in Azkaban for his crimes, but not a life sentence like the surviving hard core death eaters were given. Narcissa should have been pardoned. As for Draco? I'm not sure. He is a young man, influenced by evil people trying to twist him into what they wanted. His story is similar to Snapes, where he joins the death eaters but is quickly dragged out of his depth and wants out. But unlike Snape, he is not skillful or knowledgeable enough to leave the death eaters alive or to be a spy like Snape was. Does he do evil things? yes. does that warrant sending him to Azkaban? even for a little time? I don't know. I think it may do more harm then good in Dracos case.

There is a deleted scene where at the end, Draco actually runs back across the courtyard as Harry is revealed to still be alive and throws him a wand yelling "Potter!". I personally wish they would have left that scene in, it would have been a great end to his story arc and a nice bit of redemption for Draco. I prefer in my own mind to believe that the deleted scene is canon and that's why Draco gave Harry the half-smile on the platform, at the end of the series.

@nikolajnrgaardvrstein61244 жыл бұрын
Well, the Phoenix Fawkes should not have been petrified, but killed since it looked straight into the basilisk's eyes. But as Dumbledore explains Phoenix's are reborn over and over again, but the underlying fact here is that Phoenix's are immortal. They simply cannot die, not even by the killing curse as seen in the fifth book. Phoenix's are rare immortal beings with healing powers and lifting power that rival a truck :) We also see Fawkes's tears not only heal Harry's wound by the end of the second book but remove the venom of the basilisk. Hope that cleared it up, or be free to ask some more questions. Good day!

Draco was a confused character ... right until the end (Please do not confuse the books with the movies) In Order of the Phoenix he actively worked with Umbridge to destroy Dumbledore and Harry. In Half Blood Prince he was assigned the work to repair the Vanishing Cabinet and murder Dumbledore. He was only distressed when he thought that he could not repair the Cabinet, and was elated when it was fixed. His fear was only for himself, a selfish fear. No, he did not murder Dumbledore ... but I really don't think he could anyway, as "You have to mean it!!" In Deathly Hallows, when at Hogwarts, I have no doubt that Draco would have performed the Cuciatus Curse on First Years, just as Crabbe and Goyle did. Maybe this is where and when he started to grow a conscience. When asked to identify Harry at Draco Manner I am sure that Draco was 99% sure the "Deformed Boy" was Harry, especially with the Ron and Hermione captured. But this 1% doubt was enough to prevent him from affirming that it was Harry ... and wouldn't even positively identify Ron and Hermione. But when Draco thought Voldemort's victory was inevitable, he showed his true colours. With Crabbe and Golye, he cornered Harry, Ron and Hermione in the room of requirement. Draco was a typical cowardly bully, who exhibited violent and intimidating behaviour when he was certain that there would be no repercussions His ideology and disgusting behaviour only changed after his life was saved by Harry, and Voldemort had been defeated.

I don't think Narcissa was bad. She was scarred by her family disowning Andromeda. Her sister's were all close as children. Bellatrix eventually turned mad. Narcissa didn't want to be disowned or turn out like Bellatrix. So she did what her family wanted but not to an extreme extent. And she tried not to do that to Draco despite being dissapointed that his wife wasn't a pureblood fanatic. Narcissa was a product of a family driven by beliefs of prejudice and never had a chance to break it. But she accepted that her son eventually didn't want to have anything to do with it eventhough it was hesitantly.
