Dumbledore should have known that in order to use the stone you didn't wear it, you turned it thrice in your hand. I still can't understand why he tried to put on the ring even though he knew it was The Stone.

Personally I think people who continue to squabble over Hermione's skin color sort of miss the point about skin color not mattering.

it just doesn't make sense to only change it for the movies and not the books, it only makes it even more confusing, it has to be an either/or thing. either you change it completely across the board or you don't change it at all.

I think your assumption that all expelled students get their wands snapped is incorrect. All the evidence you have is that it happened to Hagrid. It seems more likely to me that this punishment was an unusual one rather than the norm.

Personally I don't see delphine as unbelievable. There's been odder plot twists but I do believe it was def a retcon. & JKR didn't want to come out with Dumbledore's sexuality bc she wanted it to be subtle lol. Like, she sed she wanted it to be something ppl *might* notice. I'm generally fine with retcons, bc as a writer of fiction myself, there are times when I'd really want to go back and change or add onto a plot point. It's her story and she can do what she wants. Lol

Before the controversy about Rowling, I had already become less impressed with her because I noticed a pattern: the moment people were not talking about her, she would suddenly make a comment or revelation that would put her back into public view. One of the examples of that was the sudden, and at the time fairly pointless, revelation that Dumbledore was gay. Now I have no problem with the idea of it, but there was never even the smallest hint at it before she suddenly blurted it out, and at that point, there was no reason why it would matter at all - it added nothing and explained nothing and there was nothing to point back to that suggested it. As far as I could see, the only point was to get people to pay attention to her because she was no longer the focus of attention. That sort of thing does not impress me personally, but then, I suppose it doesn't matter if I am impressed or not. It does, however, support the idea that Rowling is somewhat prone to retconning things for the purpose of regaining the spotlight. But that's just my opinion.

One of the most glaring that I've never seen anyone talk about is in the 7th book Hermione when they're in Rons room before the wedding say she "modified my parents memories" to help them escape to Australia. Then just a few chapters later when they are sitting in the cafe trying to decide what to do with the death eaters, they agree to modify their memories but all three of them all say they've never performed a memory charm before. Directly contradicting what Hermione said mere pages earlier.

I'm sure about 5,000 people have already pointed this out, but Rolf Scamander is Newt & Tina's grandson, not son. Nothing solid is known about Newt & Tina's child(ren), although it's reasonable to figure they probably had a son since Rolf has the Scamander surname. (That could happen if his mother were the Scamander, but it's more likely if his father were.)

I reject the Cursed Child principally because in canon, going back in time using time turners - everything you do there in your trip back was already in the original past. It was one of JK Rowling's cleverest ideas and a huge breakthrough in this genre of literature. I couldn't believe what she did in Cursed Child and have always viewed it as written by the two other authors. She didn't even review it properly, is my opinion, because it is so utterly disrespectable of canon. The other one you pick up that is material to me is toilets. It is fundamental to the second book that toilets or at least plumbed water existed at the time of Salazar Slytherin. In my reading, wizards were ahead of humans in this regard. More to the point, in terms of literature and philosophy, there is a concept called THE DEATH OF THE AUTHOR. Once the author publishes their work, they forever lose control and the various audiences take up the mantel, which is an interpretative one. The author can say all they like, it's pretty much irrelevant. You can see this in the Disney movie Song of the South which was made with the very finest intentions but is now regarded as problematic. In my interpretation, Harry Potter is an analogy of Jesus Christ. This becomes super-obvious in the last book which literally is built around Jesus's most famous quote, "no greater love hath a man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." Harry Potter does this and then is resurrected and conducts the battle of good and evil, defeating Satan once and for all. Once you see this, the mirror of Erised (desire) is Mosiah ch 5, the linking of the OT and NT, The time will come when the hearts of the children will be turned to their fathers. In this most important scene, JK establishes that HP's desire is perfectly unselfish and that, if he could, he would spend all his life looking at and loving his parents. But Dumbledor does not permit this... The bogart in the second book is the opposite of the mirror in the first. It is like the temptation of Christ. Like all people including Jesus, HP is flawed, particularly in the fifth book, which could be the analogy of young Jesus in the temple being so disregarding of his parents. Dumbledor represents the Holy Ghost. Other than giving advice and explaining things, he is always STRANGELY inactive in saving HP (something the end of the 5th movie does better than the book) and disappears completely in HP's final struggle (Oh my god why have you forsaken me?) Anyway, that's just my take. It does explain why Harry Potter is such a compelling moral story, and why JK struggled and failed to find a compelling underlying driver for the narrative of her Fantastic Beast movies. There's obviously more to this than I outlined, but you should not be surprised to know that I predicted all the main events in the last book after reading the first. PS while I obviously am deeply familiar with biblical stuff (as anyone must be if they want to understand European culture, law and history), I don't follow any religion.

Voldemort already had full control over the wizarding world through fear and paranoia. Harry was his only hindring. I don't think many realize how Voldemort operated. His death eaters was not an army but a secret organisation like gestapo that was designed to spy, kidnap and torture and assassinate the enemies of Voldemort.

The left won't watch it because of Rowling's views. The center won't watch it because dead franchise they've moved on from. The right won't watch it because they will absolutely race bend numerous characters for DEI. Harry Potter HBO is so dead on arrival, can't wait for it to get cancelled before they even finish Chamber of Secrets.

4:15 what a weird take. Voldemort absolutely could have had a kid without love. Look around, there's so many kids born out of lust not love. Voldemort is a narcissist with a high IQ and a racist. He would want to preserve his blood line and would do it with another pure blood because he's too amazing to not prolong his bloodline. I'm surprised he stopped with only one. Anyone who thinks he wouldn't have kids is being naive.

Unpopular opinion, but JKR isn’t that good of a writer. HP world is actually badly written, done too fast. Just look at Middle Earth (LOTR/Hobbit) and Narnia. Much better written; first the whole world “created” and then books written.

as absurd as this theory of mine is, I believe it could be true and break everything related to harry's survival. did harry truly meet dumbledore on that white space or was all in his mind? did the death eaters fail to attack the DA because of harry's sacrifice or because of other reasons? this is the thing. how did harry know how to perform the sacrifice magic to protect all his friends? he was never taught how to do it and it's not precisely a simple charm. why did "dumbledore" tell harry that he could choose if he wanted to go back to the living world or pass onto the next adventure? when harry had an "assisted suicide" he didn't had hte stone anymore and he had never touched the elder wand. we also don't know for sure if they were made by death or that part is just a myth and were made by the peverell themselves. because, let's be real. we know the elder wand doesn't ensure it's owner can't lose a duel. Grindelwald lost against dumbledore despite being the true owner of the elder wand at the time. this may prove that the elder wand wasn't truly made by death but by the three brothers. it's the most powerful wand but not impossible to defeat as the tale says. the most beliable reason for harry's survival, from my point of view, is the combination of two factors. harry had more than one soul on his body and he had phoenix tears inside since his second year. please, hear me out on this because it's a bit crazy. the avada kedavra destroys an entire soul but targeted first the horcrux (probably because of Lily's protection but I can't be sure) so the horcrux was completely destroyed and harry only lost part of his soul since the horcrux had weakened the curse. harry should had been killed since he didn't had a whole soul BUT the tears in his bloodstream healed him into a full soul. the fact that harry had his soul split at that time could explain by he had a choice to go back or continue to the afterlife. part of his soul is dead, part of his soul is alive. his decision is what empowered the traces of phoenix tears inside his body. this theory would explain by the horcrux was destroyed despite harry's survival and explain why harry stayed in a near-death state until he recovered to fight again. the only weak point is the claim that fawkes tears lasted for that long. I have no explanation for that so feel free to believe I'm wrong. I'm probably are.

There are things that indicate Harry was destined for greatness. He could throw off Imperius, which not even the brilliant Hermione could do, he mastered the Patronus Charm at a very young age, he was brilliant with broomsticks and being Seeker, and he was the one who could always get out of tight spots.
