I think I remember Yagoo saying in an interview that they used to create the character first then find someone to fit the character, but later shifted to hiring someone who fits into Hololive in a broader sense and working with them to create a fitting character for them.

The snow witch seem to have inspired Nerissa's design too. Also, the gothic lolita was a raccoon girl... we still don't have a raccoon girl in Hololive...

You can definitely see some of the original designs spill over to Lui and Chloe's design. The snow witch feels like a combination of Omega, Nerissa, and Lui. The lolita looks like it would fit Haachama well.

Hololive always choose the talents by a specific personality to fullfil the character role. That's why people need also luck to pass the audictions. The artists remade into new characters: Takane Lui and Sakamata Chloe from 6th generation HoloX.

I believe someone said that there's a character design for the supposed irys gen mates, i can't remember the details but i think there supposed to be 3 or 4 member for hope but corver only found 1 that fits the criteria that is irys

That tracks with what I heard too, project Hope was meant to be a Vsinger unit, but it never went anywhere. Idk if perms became too much of an issue, or they just weren't any good singers at the time. Although Hololive is perfectly capable of finding good singers, especially when we have talents like Nerissa and Elizabeth.

Some time ago i remember people saying Fauna was planned to be a giraffe girl before her debut. (Just like Kiri Kilovolt) But I don't know if she was the one who decided to change that, or even if that design was already drawn before they scrapped it.

Wasn't that just from Fauna mentioning how she had been sent a mistranslated version of her lore before debut where kirin had been translated to giraffe because kirin in Japanese can refer to both the mythical creature kirin and to the animal giraffe? Apparently she was ready to roll with that before she got a properly translated version of her lore that did just say kirin.

I suspect they were for a project that was scrapped as I don't buy the "doesn't match the model" reason as we have examples of mismatches in Hololive in some fashion, be it Towa, Mio (they were expecting someone younger), etc. Its nice to see Kakage and Parsely get a second shot, even if there's some misfortune for both

They probably have the design already but the requirements might be more strict than that of the other because it's supposed a specific project either a vsinger duo or a esport focused group probably trying to not repeat holo gamers because well the only one that does is korone
