I am a strategy guru and yes, there are: The one at the back is the supple trench, the middle is the reserve trench, and the one at the front is the combat trench. The side trenches are for drainage because in real wars, trenches got flooded often.

Im a german history guru and i can say the german tactiks in case of artillery was just trying to hide later in the war the germans adapted the french Concrete houses at the front to protect the soldiers from artillerie the problem was that an flamethrower agaiunst these houses often burned the soldiers in the house alive and those who survived were often strongy traumatized another thing was that the snipers (sharpshooters i dont know if you have the word sniper) are often wrong represented in the games the germans at least only placed in one trench one or two to shoot soldiers who wanted to get injured so they could go home in most cases the snipers hided with really decent camouflage in outburned houses or in the no mans land were they only shot officers and important people cause an German sniper always had the rule that he had to change positon after every kill so that enemy snipers didnt kill him

Hey baron, if you like games that center around soldiers in war, there is a WW2 game called Mud and Blood. It's a pretty good game that centers around your own squad, and makes it very grueling to think how a squad can carry out if they are powerful together. I recommend Playing the third game if possible as it is the latest installment, or play a successor to the games call Skirmish line. They have their own websites for the games too.

You are correct Baron, The trench system is made up of multiple different lines. Up front is the assault trench we all know, but behind it still is the reserves, where other soldiers go while not un active combat.

This war was so sad, each soldier had a life, a family, a home, and their own story. But in the end, they were just used as pawns in a pointless war, most of them not even wanting to fight. Entire hundreds of thousands of lives wasted in a war nobody even wanted. Heart Breaking

Baron, to answer the question about the trench lines, (and I might be wrong because I heard this from other videos), but basically at the front was the firing trench, which was the worst, since you were constantly under fire. Then, there is the secondary trench, which acts as the backup in case the first fails. Lastly is the reserve trench, which holds soldiers, ammo, and rations. Connecting them is the communication trench, which is used to transport reserves and information without being fired upon. There is a lot more about trenches, like the architecture, but this is the bare minimum.

Get swordwrath ice skin and at the very end when you face the boss, take control of a swordwrath and beat the living daylight out of him. Your skin allows you to freeze enemy troops you hit for a few seconds

eyy baron, the tactic i often use in this game is to occupy the first two trenches and waiting for the enemy to take the centre trench, i just hold from there and bombard them with mortar fire, then i just wait for his recources to get low from needing to constantly buy more troops while just hording troops in the back support trench (it is important to divide your troops among these two trenches so when he uses persicion artillary on one trench not a whole lot of your troops die) this is used for the first map but can also be done on the second map

Baron there were three trenches. You had the main trench at the front where your soldiers were, the support trench which was where reinforcing troops stayed, and you had the communication trench where they could communicate with command. Happy Christmas!!
