Truth but that wasn't her fault. I don't think there was any ill intent on Tim's behalf when he said that. He really loves Aaliyah and I don't think he would lie about a dream about her "speaking to him." Yes, it turned out to be a bad career move for Tim to say that out loud because naturally it posed Tink against Aaliyah and, obviously, nobody's having that. I just think he had a vision for her and his dream confirmed that so his passion and good intentions led to bad things. It's actually kind of sad. At least Tink was able to recover sonically, and still remain in touch with Tim. RIP BABY GIRL

Mr Boxing Tink is actually a very talented artist, her music just might not be for you. Also, what she is saying is true: the music industry is colorist. You can say something is colorist without it being an issue. She has an amazing personality along with her talent. Another thing, if you feel the need to be negative towards what another person believes, it would probably be best if you left the comment section. Thank you and have a blessed day.

The thing with Aaliyah is her immediate family doesn’t own her music rights, her uncle does and he refuses to give her mother and brother those rights and I think he even lost the rights to another company. Hence why they’re not on streaming platforms. Really gotta be careful even with your family.

I really like Tink, her ratchet commandments song is dope. Timbaland messed her up when he sampled Aaliyah’s song tho, he shouldn’t have done that. Just like I think no rapper should touch Tupac’s music it’s just very very touchy. She deserves so much more though, but personally I wasn’t feeling the Aaliyah sample. I think Tink is good enough to have her own sound, Timbaland should’ve gave her a unique sound like he did with Nelly furtado & MIA

We can speculate all we want but we know what happened to her. She’s a dark skinned woman and we live in a colorist society and it’s only getting worse with our babies growing up in the world. They don’t even want dark skinned or black women anymore because of what they see on tv and watching their favorite rappers in the videos. She’s extremely talented but if they could somehow make her light skinned they’d market her so quick because she sings and raps! So sad.

EVERY female singer gets compared to Aaliyah so that’s cap on that being the major reason. The only reason she ain’t where she deserves to be is because of colorism. Doja Cat is an interesting Black female artist, but her style isn't my cup of tea. Her style crossed over, and is played on the Pop stations. As Houston Native, Megan is that chick. She continues to fight in an industry that tries to make women fight against each other. Megan will be here for many years, as long as she keeps on being herself.

BUTLERU i respect your opinion but I do love doja cat style she’s very versatility and she doesn’t place herself in boxes she took great notes from Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. and is craving out her own lane there really isn’t any female rapper I think that she’s a full on copycat you could see who influence her but she still has her own originality. I also agree with Megan that my girl and she’s going to places (all she gotta do is experiment more with her artistry, continues to be herself and fix up her lawsuit situation with her label)

@@jackiejill9040 Aaliyah has always had long real hair. There are scenes of behind the music where you see it's her hair. Her hairstylist always bragged about it. I said her dance routines. I know that people danced before her. Also she wore her hair over her eyes which people started to do. What else makes her iconic is she been gone almost 20 years and we still talk about her today. She still has that respect. Her style with crop tops and baggy pants was a trend.

TImbaland's affinity for Tink made her an intriguing prospect. But beyond that, I wasn't sold o n her. I think that Timbaland saw something very special in her. He knows the business and it's obvious that he felt she was ready. Unfortunately, sometimes even the biggest co-signs aren't enough. For whatever reason, she wasn't hitting with the mainstream audience. Some people sell their souls in public and some do it behind the scenes. She didn't do either. Even the guys like Cole and Lamar that have that authentic feel...even Chance...they have the backing they do for a reason. Also, she never found HER audience. Most people were dismissive on the strength of Aaliyah's name being in the mix. I wish her well because she is talented. Again, I wasn't sold. Not a fan of her. But I see the twinkle of greatness and I hope she realizes her potential on a big scale.

Only Megan thee stallion is and even so just bc 1-3 people are successful doesn’t mean colorism isn’t real and haven’t stopped others from being successful. For every Megan thee stallion that are popping, there are thousands of M.I.A., Tink, Dej Loaf and Cupcake that are struggling to even be on a C-list celebrity level

If Timberland could recognize her amazing talent then that should say something!! He is highly respected and has made some of the most successful and popular songs from my generation! I grew up to him, Aaliyah, and Missy Elliot music!! I honestly don't think he would go so hard for a artist he didn't believe in!! It seems a lot of times the people with real raw skills don't get the attention that some do with no talent at all!! Nowadays you can get famous from social media like Tik-Tok and Instagram just by being attractive!! It really is unfortunate and sad that some people never be successful and get the credit they deserve!!

Still am a huge mega fan. I was disappointed I didn’t get to be inspired by ‘Think Tink’ cause the singles gave me that. I think if her career started NOW, all those singles are HITS. This is a fact 2020. ‘Hopeless Romantic’ dropped and I was just like YES music Queen, show them the evolution of YOUR lane they wouldn’t acknowledge. She deserves any success coming her way, because she went hard for her music, she didn’t have scandals, or non of that mess. I still think she definitely could have surpassed Lauren like Nicki did Kim. I’m not comparing I’m on some “pass the Baton” type time. I love music, not the theatrics of it all. But thank you for the insight!
