Not Kingston, you wouldn't have enjoyed the full richly tropical Jamaican experience. The downfall for your trip was simply the wrong resort, wrong location. I agree a Sandals would be better but Sandals is more for couples... Under the Sandals brand is Beaches Resort and Spa and that would have been a much better choice. Negril would have been excellent, 7 mile beach, very lowkey and tranquil. There is a lot more to Jamaica that you guys did not get to experience but next time a thorough research into the diffrent locations, hotels etc will help.

@@hollywoodteee I wouldn't say it's a law that say it's safe but Jamaica tolerate lesbians more than gay men, for example, if someone sees two girls kissing or behaving romantic towards each other then they won't hurt them at least not common tht they hurt them, unlike gay men, if someone sees them in Jamaica doing those stuffs they would scandal them/ say bad stuffs, hurt them, or even kill them, I saw for myself a gay man getting arrested in Jamaica but two girls were kissing and nobody said anything,so yeah it's more safe for women, oh and there are a lot of hotels and hang out spaces in Jamaica that is LGBT safe

@@hollywoodteee Hiii! I love that we have this lesbian travel thread for Jamaica going! LOL It seems that unfortunately the gay men are mainly targeted. Upon further research, it’s best to refrain from PDA. not sure if this includes holding hands? But we’ve booked at Sandals and planned our excursions through them to be completely safe. However, we want to experience TRUE Jamaican food which we def won’t get on the resort. Anyone with recommendations around Montego Bay, please feel free to comment small business restaurants- We would love to support. 🫶🏼

I love you guys 💜💜. I went to Negril and that was amazing! The staff at the all inclusive was so nice took the time to learn my whole group by name and we ventured out and did the ATVs! I would definitely say give it another try! Negril has a Sandals also!

Kingston has nothing on Montego Bay. The timing could be a little off. Kingston does not have beaches. It's just a bit faster and full of traffic. Next time try one of the Sandals- Beaches family resorts. We are known for the the warmth of the people, food.... among other things. Shopping is Jamaica is a bit different from what you are used to in the US and other large countries, we don't have many malls....it's more like smaller shops. We have been going through a lot with our 3rd round of Covid-19. Give it a 2nd chance in the future.

Jamaica is my absolute fav place on this ghetto Earf. used to visit yearly but haven't been in a while. 🥺 i've never stayed in a resort tho b|c we always stay in a Villa in Negril run by the folks of some folks that are like family to my family. (🥴 lord that was a lot. 😅) (plus my momms + i really dislike resorts.) i _always_ recommend folks stay amongst the locals instead of resorts, especially all-inclusive ones in which you don't have to leave the resort. but knowing just the small teeny, tiny, fraction of a bit i know about y'all i really wonder if that would be a _worse_ experience for y'all. 😬🥴 but staying off of resorts forces you to explore the city in a much more realistic way instead of like a tourist having a pre-packaged experience. thanks for sharing, y'all + more importantly, thank you for taking care of your team the way you did//do.

Terrell I am happy you came to my country Jamaica and in spite of what is said about my country it is a beautiful place. You came during the Covid and lock down but you can come again. I opened my eyes when you gave us a rating of 6/10 but the ratings varied which at the end gave a better rating.

I’ve done the Sandals resorts in Jamaica….both Negril and South Coast which were very nice….adults only. The only down side was the long drive to get to both. My life flashed before my eyes many times on those roads.

I love all-inclusive resorts too!!! If you guys get the opportunity, try out the Hilton all-inclusive resort in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I’ve been there 3 times. It’s a great beachfront property with great service and accommodations. And while there, definitely try the “rhythm of the night” show. Awesome!!!

Martha Brae... Yess I am from Jamaica...Kingston as more malls and such than Montego Bay. Kingston does not have any areas for swimming. Next time try a different hotel. Like Coral Spring.

I just found this channel and I love u guys. It doesn't matter where y'all go to in Jamaica you will not enjoy it to the fullest.. Jamaicans doesn't support homosexuals. People will steer because they don't see male partners publicly. The first time I 👀 two male parent at my hotel stay me and my friends kept laughing and we talked about it all night ( that's how we where raised, we just not cultured like that). 🇯🇲 is very nice though you guys can visit again I love y'all.

I’ve done alot of all-inclusives across the Caribbean and Mexico, the most unfriendly was hands down Jamaica. Unfortunately I noticed them being extra friendly with white people and frown at blacks (I’ve shared this with others and we were all in agreement). I’ve visited Jamaica twice and got the same vibe. So much for the “one love” culture they promote.

I recommend u guys to go to sea garden resort, its amazing, the hotel and beach/food bar are separated, they have the adult bar, late night snack. Jamaica is not the lgbt- place and jamaica has malls and more.

Oh no, Kingston is not a good place for tourists. It's the business capital so if you're coming for business then fine but Montego Bay is the tourism capital (and Kingston doesn't have beaches. It only has a few hotels too which aren't necessarily family-oriented). Maybe the vybe was boring because of the lockdown days and a lot of people are going through a lot of stress due to the pandemic, workers included. However, I agree that Jamaica has very significant homophobia - I live here. Maybe next time you can check out another Montego Bay hotel or one in Negril (which is further west of the island). I do apologize for the bad experience though, because even though y'all said it was good, a 5/10 isn't a good score lol. Maybe when the pandemic situation gets better in the country you can come back. And yes, we do have malls lol you just weren't in the right places with them :)
