The buff on her first skill does not compensate the nerf on her ultimate. Making the box 5x5 is really bad when the specialty of Yve is controlling. The main reason Yve is popular pre nerf was because of her long range zoning capability and now it's gone.

IMO, her nerf was also the biggest reason why jungler Martis and Leomord are running rampant in ranked, because she's the only mage who can provide immediate slow to their fast mov. Speed, unlike other slow mages who either have weaker slow (Valir) or animation delay (Lylia). While her 2nd skill is unchanged, the ult is also just too valuable in zoning out Leomord/Martis's teammates, practically isolating them to be rushed by your team while you slow them. The closest replacement for old Yve is Pharsa, but their plan of zoning are just too different (burst vs debuff+chip dmg), while the new Yve is too outclassed by Lylia (larger skill's AOE) onmedium range Tl;dr : Yve is a zoning mage, so by nerfing her ult's size, it practically gutted her playstyle no matter how much dmg increase she gain or the CC immunity since many times, your enemies either burst you or ran away from your ult, causing the dmg to be useless

Her ult after the nerf is better used to trap escaping enemies. You can slow and poke the enemy with skill 1 and 2 first.

I play 99% solo, so it used to be hard to use Yve, but now it's an absolute gamble... Most times when I ult, my team just runs behind me, and I end up having to cancel my ult and run too...

I agree. In MPL tournaments, Yve = Pharsa. If there is Pharsa, there is Yve vice versa. Now Pharsa > Yve. So i think if Pharsa doesn't receive any nerfs then she will be highly contested in MPL/Pro scene. Yve now can't reach Pharsa. I think pro players will pick Lylia instead of Yve right now because Lylia gives more burst and her ult is a game changer.

Idk the region you're in but where I'm from you don't see Yve at all in epic . Maybe a few legend players and some mythic but it was mainly high mythic ranks and glory along with pro scene that you saw her picked a lot but not in lower ranks . That said though the nerf is gonna affect her pick rate by a whole lot cause everyone is exploring other options now . Pharsa and lylia are being used more since Yve got nerfed

It's not just "2 blocks" just because of 7x7 >>> 5x5 It's 24 blocks since we are talking about the area of her ult. 7x7 is (49 blocks) while 5x5 is (25 blocks).

With the smaller ult, I always feel happy whenever someone plays Ruby with my Yve, like its easier when heroes know when to pull enemies into your box. This is already common sense, but if you happen to have an Yve in your team, try not letting the enemies escape once Real World Manipulation gets cast, that makes our day best :)

I actually used Yve and it's not too bad.. maybe many are not yet used to it but it's still okay.. the damage is good and the slow is very nice.. you should just use the ultimate on the perfect timing.. 👌 One thing the fast mobility after casting skill 1 to the enemy is so good.. in poking or chasing enemies..

I like about the 1st skill of yve is that the added mobility everytime it hits it's target. I hope eudora also have that mobility everytime she hits her second skill to the enemy. Like it's added mobility on her every time she throws her complete combo.

I was initially disappointed with this adjustment since zoning was her specialty, but with all the buffs that came with it, and with the games I've played with her recently, I prefer this new Yve! They may have reduced her range but a lot of other aspects to her kit were improved. And I know a lot of you would disagree with me, but this is just my preference. Before, her ultimate can be cancelled with a single stun or any CC. The range is indeed huge but she could almost never use it in clashes when she's always the target of CC skills. Basically, cons: - Ultimate range reduced from 7x7 to 5x5 (From 49 blocks to 25 blocks) Pros: - Ultimate cooldown reduced by 15 seconds at all levels - Can't be stopped by CC anymore (except suppression) - Easier to hit enemies in ultimate since you can see them all unlike before where you'd be unable to see the enemies if they were too far from you. - Higher 1st skill damage - Longer immobilization of the board's edges in ultimate (from 0.3 seconds to 0.8 seconds) - Higher tap damage in ultimate - Higher slow effect of hold in ultimate - Higher slow effect for 2nd skill (2nd phase) - Lower mana cost for 2nd skill in early game

If enemies are in your ult, they will always be visible to you. The boxes aren't bigger, they're the same size. They just look bigger cuz it's not as zoomed out as before.

After the nerf, however, she can now easily see all enemies within her ultimate as they’re all close to her. And as for the boxes’ size, yes, you’re indeed correct.

I feel like they buffed her early game potential by increasing damage with her first skill but when it gets to end you won’t really notice the buff and will be hard to impact the game late as your ult is very small and can’t zone players as much and burst damage users can kill you easily as you’re now MUCH closer to the enemies

I just use her recently in rank, so she's still decent if you know how to handle the battle situations especially if you have an enemy jungle tank balmond, burst damage from enemy eudora, unli heal enemy estes and annoying enemy lancelot

Yve main, her old ult is much more better, the reason she used to be popular was her zoning ability and her long range ult, now after her ult got nerfed enemies can escape much more easier, it's an insane nerf. Pretty sure she IS meant to be a zoning mage, she's not even a burst mage, she's probably going to replace Carmilla as one of the most unpopular hero.

This one time I played yve with this nerf I just didn't use my ult because it's either the enemies will be out of rang quickly or they will burst me down even with a fighter or tank accompanying me. Her ult range is so bad it's only useful is when a tank sets. I also like the old ult because it makes the camera zoom out like Luo yi's ult, while this new one will move the camera to the side your ult is facing. Sure the damage and slow effect of the 1st and 2nd skills are better now but the old skills of yve still did a lot of damage especially with glowing wand and ice queen wand combo.

She’s still a decent pick on ranked games especially if you can combo with other heroes (really good with carmilla). But you have to adjust your position more carefully as opposed before. Mid to late game, her first skill is really good for poking and slowing down enemy. Please don’t do more nerf in this beloved heroes 💔

As an Yve main, it's painful that her ult is smaller, but at the same time I got used to it and we have a new Yve Strategy "Spam Poke" (which is constant press on 1st skill with little to no cd). She is still very strong and competitive mid-laner in the current meta if in the right hands, and of course a pain in the butt bc of her strong slow effects. I think lower cd for her ult like at 30-20 seconds would be enough because the enemies can easily leave her ult now ad she will cancel her ult more often that's it and I would be very pleased. Also as an Yve main, I definetly suggest trying to rely on her 1st and 2nd skill. Her ult is her main dmg and utility, now it's nerfed big time it's no longer as good as before. But atleast her 1st and 2nd isn't, and those 2 skills also makes her one of the best at poking the enemies.

I remember that there are only 3 Heroes that have suppression. Franco, Kaja and Barats, I was thinking who has the best supress and conclude that Kaja has the best one. Reasons his supress is instant and still in effect even if kaja is interrupted. I don't know why I made this but I made it.

I'm one of yve's main who disappointed about this adjustments because of this I can no longer damage the enemy hiding behind their turrets but when I play her with this adjustment she's still okay for me. It looks like yve's first release on advance server on where her ult. Cannot be cancel by cc but this time the ult range is shorter. All in all she's still one of my strongest mage.

Instead of shortening her ult range vertically (she's a poking mage, which is why long range skills are important). Just adjust where the ult is positioned. Like make it affect 5x5 too but make the board further from yve like 7x5 but without the first 2 rows of squares actually being impactable or usable(measurement is from yve to an outward direction). Or just revert the ult back to the original

Stats... Hero stats is how you balance the game but no, devs only know how to adjust spells and all heroes have similar hero stats. Easy input...more money equals EZGG.

The nerf is too hard.... Many heros have dash skills now and can easily get out of her ult range. And once enemy is out of her ult she's useless. Also the cd of ult doesn't help either. We can't cancel and spam it if enemy is out of her ult. Yes she has gud damage but honestly I'd rather pick Vexana now. Or if I wanna zone out then Pharsa is better. Yes she can be used in gank but there are already better mages to gank like Kagura. And now she heavily relies on her team or tank to keep enemies in her ult which is not possible in solo q. She might be relevant in pro play and team matches but solo q not really.

gameplay-affected changes hurt much more than pure values buff and nerfs. sure to moonton's wow she can do much more damage but what's the point if she's not as much fun as she used to be. same goes with Zhask n Minotaur. imagine one day Fanny became underrated and moonton make her cable to have autoaim in exchange of stronger ultimate

yeah no thanks I gave up yve california top 50 yve . 54%wr about 600 matches . I playing one nerfed yve game and went 1-4-3 . It was a brutal asswhooping ,when normally i go 10 -5-7 average . its like playing with eudora you gotta hide in a bush to do anything no more staying behind turret.

This nerf removed the aspect of yve getting picked being yve main sux now I even notice at my games on how often I use her ult since it's better to use her 1st and 2nd skill rather than to gamble on her ult that enemies can just walk out of and run or just straight up kill u especially when playing solo with her where your allies doesn't know on how to protect u and just leave you to die I wish they just put it in 6,6 so it wouldn't hurt much.

Nerf. The large area of her ultimate is what makes her the perfect utility mage in the pro scene. Now that its size was decreased, I bet she would no longer be used as usual in the coming MPLs.

Imagine the enemy hero with a very high skill (pharsa,gord,etc) and basic (layla,clint,etc) range and you as yve there using your ult was like 🧍‍♀️ trying to reach them💀💀

Well i Like this new First Skill. Make almost onehit the squishies with the right build. But the ult ist really a bit weak now. But thats ok.
