Plenty of people who didn't have Fu rolled on huohuo, everyone knew the debuff removal was powerful, just kinda overkill with Fu. The problem was Argenti. Erudition was still viewed skeptically at the time, plus supports have way broader value than another DPS. Add to that the majority of the player base is male and only about 5% of the general population is not hetero, Ruan Mei was simply more fuckable. Way more. He's just some pretty dude with a death wish, this girl is gonna become an Aeon.

Huohuo was popular. I mean, aoe healer with atk buffs and (small amount of) energy while also scaling on HP including her basic attack. Pretty useful. Plus she's wind. If they put Hanya on that banner then it would have done better and more people would have her but instead she was put on a banner that mostly husbando collectors went for and not even a whole lot of them. Hanya on her own just wasn't tempting enough so yeah would have been better off with Huohuo.

@@DKOIsoulI think pairing her with Argenti was a better move since Argent is kinda skill point hungry as he wants to use his skill in order to get stacks of his crit rate buffs and charge his max ult fast and the main selling point of Hanya was that she could manage that and plus she was the same element as Argenti as well so that helped her and even if she was on Huo Huo’s banner it probably wouldn’t have helped her as she probably would’ve been seen as another 4 star on the way to the 5 star.

I think it's entirely valid to have 4* counterparts of 5* characters even if they're released close together. Not everyone can or wants to pull for all 5*s and having an accessible substitute that performs a similar role is helpful for free to play or low spenders.

well i would like to make new comment over commenting to existing one but its gonna get less see because i think this is important as the guy that have e5 hanya and e6 of her in incoming sparkle banner. What makes her bad in my opinion is just the burden doesnt count as debuff, if its counted as debuff lets be real she gonna be my to go to for the incoming archeron or heck i can run her with dr. ratio. I also hope that at e6 makes burden can be casted to 2 unit over 1 unit, because e6 really doesnt give any higher utility to her extra 10% is almost nothing when its better to give team more sp and make hanya get to the top faster. for now with her like this she gonna disappear among the sea of butterflies when sparkle come in.

This would make sense if 4-stars were actually accessible, but the acquisition methods are exactly the same as 5-star characters. I'm still using the same currency to invest into the same limited banners, the only difference is instead of getting bonus 4-star characters I'm now worrying about getting 5-stars that I don't want and ruining my potential to get future 5-star characters. The Argenti/Ruan Mei banners specifically were particularly brutal, if I didn't want Argenti but I did want one of the supports why would I invest into getting Hanya which has zero guarantees and still takes an average of almost 40 pulls of investing into a 5-star banner and risk getting the unit I don't want when I could just hold onto those pulls and get the superior version with full pity guarantees?

Hanya's Sole purpose is to be a 4 star version of Sparkle for anyone who Skips Sparkle but wants a SP hungry DPS that releases down the Line (They just can't be non ATK scaling though) She was never intended to Beat Tingyun & Bronya but was Hoyo's F2P response to Releasing SP hungry Characters after Hanabi/Sparkle came out. and As soon as Ruan Mei Came out. Hanya went into the Irrelevancy chamber.

That's the thing tho. Hanya is a 4*. So she can be one more banners more often. Meaning getting her higher than c0 is very likely. Though they really should have given a copy out for finishing the spook perma-event. Maybe they will in future and those that finished will just go and collect her. They have slowly added a wider range of free chars. So they can build and give decent odds that all players can do most of the content without massive issues. Meaning most if not all players would have her and could use her WAY before they might see ruan mei or sparkle pop up on a banner. Which is always the major limiting factor for the 5*'s. You have to either whale out fast or save up over several banners to have decent odds of just getting the char. Let alone the C's. THAT should always be the view of the 4* 'lesser' chars. They are near infinitely more accessible than the 5* variants. Meaning you can get near to better output from them as they are C maxed instead of maybe getting C1 at most, for non whales.

Hanya is one of those units thats unnecessary for whales/meta chasers but extremely useful for the average player. Not many actually got her and you cant say she is bad, so nobody really talks about her. One of her best teams for me is Hanya, Argenti and Bronya. Her speed boost lets my slower Argenti go right before Bronya, and she provides enough sp for both Bronya and Argenti to spam skill every turn. Her ult being single target is actually one of her greatest strengths, letting you skip farming extra relics and saving you from spending an hour on the equip screen trying to get the speed tuning right without sacrificing too many required stats,

Harmony is the best path and all characters are usable. But Hanya’s single target speed and attack buffs, including a skill that DOESN’T COUNT AS A DEBUFF, make her a hard choice in hypercarry (where you use Tingyun+[Bronya/Yukong]) or dual-DPS (where you use Asta or RM). If Burden counted as a debuff, I think she would’ve been a perfect FuA buffer with T&N + Ratio.

@@niconilo97 it’s a matter of syntax more than anything. Hanya’s talent (Burden) increases damage “dealt” making it a buff as it actively applies to allies. This is different from Guinaifen’s talent (Firekiss) that increases damage “received” making it a debuff as it actively applies to enemies. I have yet to see a case in HSR where this syntax doesn’t match.

In the world of Harmony, you’ll find use in different team comps, provided you fit the mold. Hanya’s problem is that, after almost a year, any other Harmony could take a place on a team, not because they can do what she does, but because what they can do is more impactful. I actually chose to skip Sparkle and save for Acheron because I got lucky getting early a Ruan Mei Lightcone and decided to give it to Hanya. She works even better with high skill consumption teams providing a skill point and buffs every time she ults (with that light cone) and the bleed damage from a 150+ break effect Hanya is nothing to scoff at.

Hanya (and by extension her sister Xueyi) has my favorite character background of anyone in this game. Spoiler Warning for Hanya's backstory (although it can easily be found if you've already pulled her and you look at her character info) I read so much of her in-game lore that discussed her trauma and depression and how it's only when she's afforded time to spend with her sister Xueyi, whose death Hanya feels somewhat responsible for (not sure if that's explicitly stated, but it's at least implied), that she feels like life is worth living. Her backstory is so tragic, but she has just the smallest bit of hope through spending time with Xueyi that makes me want to cheer her on! I want so badly to build her because I love her character so much, but I after getting and building Ruan Mei who fits in just about every team, it's difficult to find a place for Hanya to fit in practically speaking. She deserves so much better, both in terms of gameplay and in her story

Ruan Mei ate up 2/4 Harmony slots. Before RM I would try to run one Jingliu team with Bronya/Pela, and a second with Tingyun and room for Hanya/Asta/Yukong, depending on the elements. After a Ruan Mei my second team needed no other support unit and I would generally look for a subDPS instead. And then I pulled Kafka and Black Swan and there's certainly no room for her now. With ice weakness phasing out of MoC I'll be turning to Dr. Ratio to cover one side. But he's going to want Pela or Guinaifen for debuffs, and then Bronya will be the top choice for harmony. No room for Hanya again.

I don't really think her SP generation is that good but so far she's the only alternative to Ruan Mei as a Universal Dmg Bonus team buffer. I don't have Ruan so I instead use her to buff both Kafka and Swan and since she only really needs speed I take advantage of the fact that she's physical to stuff in Break Effect too, she's not the best breaker but her skill does make breaking somehow reliable. I think one problem with her is that her buffs feel kinda backloaded which can sometimes backfire if you're not careful with her Burden. Overall, I think she's underrated and her teamwide dmg buff works better in dual DPS setups rather than Hypercarries but was unfortunately released close to Ruan Mei.

I just built her and I am planning to get Sparkle. So wise investment? Of course, she looks fabulous! I think she's decent as far as four stars are concerned. There is just a lot of competition with other four stars but even they are struggling to keep up with newer characters. Luckily she wasn't a four star dps though. I think Herta is the only good 4 star dps now, that isn't overshadowed by a 5 star. She also might have a time to shine if they introduce a roguelite mode where you can't use the same characters over and over.

Pela hasn't been overshadowed by SW yet, and I think she's Hanya's biggest competitor. Pela also generates 3 SP over 3 turns, provides teamwide damage increase through defense shred, and is only missing the speed boost.

Maybe it's just me, but i like playing inbibitor with ruan mei, hanya and loucha/ fu xuan. They both give him immense booste and hanya solve the skill point issue while also giving him more speed. So infight im around 200 speed on him with the buffs and i can spamm his 3 charges non stop without to worry about skill points. She is nieche yes, but she fill that so well if u need her.

Maybe I'm wrong but it feels like Hanya and Sparkle both generate the same amount of sp, the only difference is when said sp is available. Hanya generates 2 SP every rotation, making her a +1 sp unit every turn. Hanabi spams skill every turn and she gets ult after 3 turns of spamming skill. Upon ulting she generates 4 sp, making her +1 sp over the course of three rotations. What makes Sparkle special though is that she can actually use her basic attack to generate the same amount of energy as like using her skill. This allows here to be even more sp positive if that's what your team needs. Hanya's kit can only generate 1 sp. Meanwhile Sparkle has the option to generate more without losing out on her ult. Hanya does have an advantage though when it comes to her fellow 4 stars, and that's her teamwide damage % buff. All of the 4 stars doesn't have a damage % buff with a permanent uptime unlike Hanya's. Tingyun gives 60%+ damage buff for 2 turns, being able to ult every 3 turns = 1 turn downtime, also single target only Yukong has 18% imaginary damage buff w/ permanent uptime and is teamwide but small Asta buffs attack and speed only So she does have that edge. But yeah, she definitely did suffer Though her suffering probably is because of how bad she got nerfed pre-release. (Pre-nerf Hanya is actually capable of generating more SP than base Sparkle. Sparkle wins though if she can 2 turn ult with HH. And her buffs were more potent too but they toned it down for some reason, probably because of RM and Sparkle's release. This is why Gacha smack had a video talking about how OP she was, and when she got nerfed so hard Gacha smack released the Hanya is over valued video xd)

I originally built Hanya as a second Harmony to carry Sushang alongside Ruan Mei kind of on a whim. Giving her Planetary LC and a Penacony ornament set for the physical boost and I have to say for a joke build it actually plays out surprisingly decently. The SP generation isn't very needed because Sushang is fairly economical but Hanya can keep her ult buff up near constantly on her carry if you time it well and she does a not-inconsiderate amount of physical toughness damage herself since, unlike most Harmony units, her skill is still an attack. While not optimal I am curious how she'll do with Boothill when he's out since in a lot of ways he fits the same niche as Sushang in that comp with a better kit.

She is really necessary here because I try to use benediction as much as possible so I can get as many full stack ults of argenti as possible.

I think more people will use her if they have her at e6, I got her at e0 and I use her when I need RM in my other team for DHIL. She came at a bad time and most of the people that want her didn’t continue to pull since they don’t want the 5 star she’s with so I think the majority have her at e0. Hanya is still a beast even with the release of sparkle. Her playstyle isn't really the fact on generating sp (skill points) its just an added mechanic that is amazing on her. She is a harmony character that is meant to be sp positive and being able to spam skills and ulti without needing to worry about sp. Her with lightcones like cogs and an ER setup can perma boost speed and attacks boost of a character that uses ATK% boots instead of SPD. Why not bring bronya or sparkle to replace her? because, not everyone has the luck of a god and also she is an easy E6 to get and her eidolons just helps and improve her potential into a buffer/debuffer which not many harmony characters have this trait. Her skill able to apply burden on enemies and increases the dmg the enemy receives but the down side is that it only works for normal attacks and skill and not follow up attacks. Due to having lack of physical dps her full potential is currently, not being able to shine. Clara would've been a good dps option if only her debuff can proc off follow up atcks which it doesn't.. and argenti.. well u know hes only good in farming n pure fiction rn. Overall, she will be replaced by other characters but shes still a very viable character to build especially with E6 on certain situations. If I were to rate her, she'd be in at least an A- tier on E6 for harmony characters, she does a lot for the team with minimal build requirements other than needing as much speed as possible.

I got the SW rerun and got my Argenti who I love so much, and the e4 hanya I got works so well with him. She's really speedy (180spd i think) and that way he runs atk boots, she has penacony planar set and the asta lightcone and they're just a really great team I'll probably try for sparkle but she has her own niche and is good, she's just not absolutely broken

I host mini community PVP tournaments in my server and she gets alot of actions there. Other than that outside of the tournaments itself we barely talk about her except as backup support if the others were banned or taken especially when it comes to supporting skill point heavy DPS units. It's a bit sad seeing her in this state but at least she has a niche in our little community

Hanya + Tingyun both wearing DDD creates a fun battery for a hyper carry because they can both just spam skill endlessly without going negative. This creates an interesting feedback loop with, in my example, Clara that has actually proven more than capable of brute forcing 3* clears of moc 12s on non phys weak enemies. Obviously this is dependent on clara targeting, and enemy choice as it isnt always applicable but the energy battery this creates essentially puts Clara in ult 100% of the time for every single enemy turn, with a slight damage per counter loss, sure, but when the modifier is available about 50% more than it normally is it can be very potent.

the best team for Hanya will be a no sustain DHIL or QQ hyper carry with Sparkle and Bronya, you will be able to use their fully maxed basic attacks several times per cycle because of Sparkle’s and Bronya’s action advance, which if you used Tingyun or Ruan Mei instead of Hanya, wouldn’t be possible, since Sparkle alone wouldn’t be able to supply that high amount of skill points needed to pull it of consistently.

Sparkle and Bronya don't trigger burden with their skill/ultimate so I doubt that will work smoothly in practice. Same reason why Yukong and Luocha are great with Hanya.

I feel like Harmony characters are built 'married' to a specific dps if you have enough of them. Hanya I only built specifically for Argenti. But I think many people skipped him.

Only problem I have with Hanya right now is there seems to be a weird happening with her skill. I'm not sure if it's a bug or an actual change, but back then if you cast Hanya's skill on enemy while the enemy still have her stack, she will recover the SP she used. But that doesn't seem to happen anymore. But yeah, I just sort of stopped using her later on even though I don't have Ruan Mei either. It's mostly because her playstyle doesn't really open up stuff that much. Most teams I have some specific requirement that she just cannot be slotted in. The only team I could fit her in was in my Argenti team, but I already found a better set up that doesn't require her. I can't slot her into my Dr. Ratio team either, since Bronya....

Since I didn't get Sparkle, Hanya is really nice with dhil. I pair them both with bronya as well since I have her e1 and hanya e5. I probably won't get the new harmony characters so hanya is good for now

What I like about her is that she can provide skill points out of turn. So I can hold FX’s or SW’s ult, & then if QQ doesn’t have hers & runs out of SP without enhancing her attack, I can get another one & try again. I am getting Sparkle, though, so we’ll see.

I finished the current moc using Hanya (for the first time), now that she is e4 (I play since hsr release) and the team Dan heng, Tingyun and Hanya together was really fun I planned to use Dan Heng exactly because I want to diversify my teams and didn't use DHIL in a long time cause hyper carry don't really appeal to me, but hsr current state allow us to use different kind of teams Sparkle is a character I didn't have any interest cause I don't feel I need her, I already have a good enough version of her (Hanya). The same works for Robin, no interest cause I don't feel this helps me to build a variety of teams, but only teams that works around her and I don't like that. Basically I'm not a fan of the Harmony path because is the opposite of specialty

Since I don't have Bronya, haven't built Asta and Yukong yet and I'm skipping Sparkle, Hanya sees a lot of action on my acc and will continue to do so at least until a broken male 5* Harmony releases (not counting new TB). Hanya is a staple for my Argenti and DHIL teams, doesn't overlap with Ruan Mei at all, and Tingyun gets left out way more often that Hanya does.

100% a good thing to have serviceable 4* alternatives to limited 5* characters even if she's not a BiS option for most/any teams. There are plenty of players (both old and new) who will have missed or skipped RM & Sparkle and haven't gotten a Bronya yet. Even assuming you have Tingyun, Hanya just works better in some teams than Asta, so she's a solid choice in a lot of cases. She could definitely be stronger but it's not like she doesn't have a use case.

The funny thing about Hanya is IIRC she came on Argenti's banner. People were hyping that the "best" team for Argenti was Argenti/Tingyun/Hanya/Huohuo. I don't have Huohuo so maybe her SP usage would change things. But I found that Argenti's team doesn't really need Hanya. I'm not sure where the hype for that even came from. If you look at MoC usage rates, people still highly use Hanya with Argenti, probably because of those initial "best team" comments. I found that team performed better with Bronya, or even Ruan Mei once she released. I regularly play (almost) mono quantum with either Qingque or Seele, and Qingque doesn't even seem to need her if she's e6. I'd rather use Tingyun. Maybe she'd work well with DHIL but I don't have him. Hanya is a great character, and I LOVE her design. I wish I found more reasons to use her though. I always find myself going for other supports instead.

I think probably because she can contribute to toughness breaking against physical weak, use planetary rendezvous and use penacony grand hotel 2 piece for a lot of extra permanent dmg bonus in addition to her own. I agree she still isn’t the best option but she is defo decent for allowing other supports to support the other team. And she allows argenti to skill every turn which is harder with huohuo vs other sustains like Luocha and fu xuan. I will say though, I built her because I didn’t have any built harmony’s at the time and I instantly E6 her in crazy lucky on argenti’s banner but I already stopped using her the second I had 8 characters built to fill MoC.

The reason why she was hyped in Argenti teams and is because he Argenti wants to use his skill has much as he can to get his max ult charged up along with getting his crit rate buffs as fast as he can which made him a little SP hungry and Hanya’s main selling point was that she could always manage that for him and that was it for her and while her ult was nice if you look at the buffer chart she is the second lowest buffer in the game with Yukong only being lower than her. Ruan Mei may have put her into the coffin but Sparkle is just gonna flat out burry her when she drops in a week.

Hanya is fine. She's never a first pick but for running DHIL and another DPS, she boosts attack and is a battery for skill points. I pulled Huohuo and got E4 Hanya on the way. She's a niche bonus unit but she has her uses.

She's okay. I used her in MOC 12 a few times and it wasn't terrible. She just struggles when compared to high value Harmony units (Ruan Mei, Bronya, Tingyun etc.) The supporting slots are so contested that I struggle to see her making a return in future outside of extreme SP situations for players that don't have Sparkle.

Funny thing is I don't play hsr but occasionally get tiktoks and yt videos about it and before last week I thought "huh, so much noise around this npc (hanya)" then I saw her game play and thought "oh, they are finally releasing her as a playable character" and now I know that she exists in game for like 3 months plus?💀💀💀

I use her with most of my hypercarry teams tbh. She has max speed basically with rm, and i tend to use her with Argenti or Ratio. I dont think its bad to have a 4* whos “lesser” than a 5* cause like.. theyre a 4*. Not everyone can get Sparkle and not everyone wants her (im more on the team of wanting her but cant/pointless on my teams). I think she’s still good, even though she wouldnt be as relevant anymore. Hell, i use her over tingyun sometimes bcs shes so much easier to use for me

I think, the only things that she offers are 30% dmg boost on Burden enemy … her ult give around 40 speed (if you manage 200 speed on her!!!!) and 60% atk boost. Asta simply do much more and for your whole team, with no requirement, super cheap (you only need to level her talent, ult and you are good to go), plus if you have e6 Asta and fighting enemies with fire weakness, she won’t need to skill, ever. As for her ‘Sp providing’ … it’s all an illusion. Hanya gives 2 Sp with the cost of 1. This makes her not sp +2 but +1. Basically the same as other basic attack supports, 2 best 4 stars are Tingyun who generates energy, and Pela who shreds Def with ult and Luka’s LC.
