What happened🤔 Wltoys A800 glider FAIL!🛬

I've got one and I love it. They are primarily powered soaring gliders not aerobatic aircraft. They need to be flown within their limits.

Yes I was pushing it a little past it's normal intended purpose but the electronics have always been bad in these budget "gyro" planes, mainly the controller with these Wltoys versions. With a external rx installed and my Spektrum controller they are 10x better compared to the stock RX TX

Not at all it was just ridiculously hard to control because it had a mind of its own glitching everywhere. I don't deliberately break stuff no.

I have been designing, building and flying RC model aeroplanes for many years. I bought this model for my nephew. The first flights were uncontrollable in 6D mode resulting in an all flights ending in crashes. I tried 3D mode and it was uncontrollable again. Maybe I was just unlucky but this plane has never flown satisfactorily. Having watched various videos I wonder if quality control is an issue? I found the same issues as 'RC Crazy'.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes I have also been designing and building planes for many years now and being a long wing glider I definitely did not expect the horrendous characteristics. I believe the many issue is the cheap electronic, glitchy gyro and servo control in general, they do much better with a external Spektrum receiver as I have done with another WLToys plane👌

Wow that thing was dodgy mate shame it broke but not much you can do when it has a mind of its own. Do you ever encounter any swooping magpies out there? I haven’t encountered one yet this year but I’m sure I will 😂 Thanks for posting the video 👏

Yeah im hoping the issue was the flight board coming loose, hopefully securing it will help, that glitch at the start wasn't a good sign but I have got planes with glitchy servos but still fly fine. Yes had magpies absolutely going nuts because of the planes😅 Your welcome mate👍 Next test should be better👌

What would be a similar quality plane handling wise to the XK800. Preferably front prop. It’s my third unit and it broke even before flight. It’s smooth as butter in the air, but the quality of the electronics is the worst I have experienced.

So sorry mate I'm not that familiar with planes at all but I will say go for a good brand, wltoys have lots of bad planes with horrible gyros.

@Rocketman0407 not familiar with that brand at all but from the look of it online it looks OK. The fact that it doesn't come with a controller is a good thing, at least you can install a decent radio system like Spektrum or Futaba

Maybe the battery came "loose" and moved to the front making the plane's nose heavy. Remember it only weighs 100 grams and if the elevation trim was adjusted while the battery was more in the back it could make it very nose-heavy if the battery shifted to the front.? I am a newbie but just my thoughts :) I crashed my new a800 and broke it beyond repair since the altitude servo stopped working after a stupid crash, but I'm getting a new one in 7 days. Oh well, now I have an extra wing, a tail, a transmitter, etc :) I hope you can understand my rather poor English and the grammar doesn't wanna make you pull out your hair haha. Putting my Danish thoughts into English is hard sometimes. Btw. Someone recommended Woodland Scenics 1444 Foam Tack Glue, 354 ml for foam, and is should be very very good.

First of all I have to say your comment is written better than some English speaking people I chat to so your good👌😅 To the battery, it's very possible for it to come loose but the distance it can move isn't really enough to effect the plane much. I have had a few of these cheaper planes act very strange, I'm pretty sure it's just sub standard electronics, mainly the controller and receiver, they work great with a external receiver and quality controller👌

I have seen servo glitches but the drop-out or whatever happened at the end was weird🤨

Well it is a glider therefore will fly like a glider but I 100% agree is cheap and nasty, the electronics in these planes are horrendous😵‍💫 A decent brand and size is a good idea yes👌
