This was definitely interesting to see. I’m surprised a lot of their lines were fully animated and lip synced to the characters.

makes you wonder if the original idea was to have the scene play out in full visibility but then that idea was scrapped for the sake of leaving things dialogue-only and up to player interpretation

@@roramoyathis is definitely what happened. The logistics with this many characters and possible combinations (number of participants, different heights & builds etc) are quite something

I wonder how Ascended Astarion looks like in this scene, the narration said like:- "There's no joy in his face, only intensity in his eyes that makes you shiver".

It happens with trauma. But he won't let that influence him on his decisions. He said we shouldn't worry of it's too bad he step out. You can see here very good that he wants to experience these things. And sometimes the thoughts wander. Only his words are bothering me. I would have stopped him when hearing him say sweethearts. Plural. Because we payed. He isn't supposed to bring them desire. But still don't forget he said no before his quest ending. He only agreed after. So he feels well enough to try it out. That's okay to me.

@@Danileptic this is an interesting take actually! I always felt uncomfortable about it too. But you aren't wrong; if he wants to experience these things again, then it's not going to go flawlessly the first time, there's going to be discomfort. I would argue that maybe he shouldn't have jumped straight in with a fivesome :') and I do think there should at least be a dialogue option after to check in with him

@@emsitdown9141 yes exactly. He's like a kid wanting it all at once haha. I think it's important to show that only because you have some trauma problems you don't want to have sex anymore. Or even want to live anyhow different than your friends. I think , if only for story elements, that his night with the partner after his quest went well. It's interesting that the narrator used the same words as the partner in act 1. In act 1 at least in my run he enjoyed the night, but he had too that expression that he's not here.

@@Danileptic Yeah, he dissociates, it's clearly his go-to coping mechanism. I think in his first night after killing Cazador he's with someone who he knows already values him, he knows he doesn't have anything to prove with his body anymore, so he feels safe enough to be present. But as soon as he's in a situation where he feels like he needs to perform/impress, it's easier for him to go on autopilot and mentally get as far away as possible. It's an incredibly good depiction of that type of coping I think
