I won a match for my team 2 days ago with the RTR. There was an engineer who had his sentry on a problem place, he was too close to his sentry and surrounded by too many enemies for me to sap then gun the sentry down during the sapping phase without being killed first, so every effort I made to use a normal sapper was in vain. I had to do something because my team was getting slaughtered by that level 3 sentry, so I took out the red tape recorder, and though the engineer was quick enough to kill me before I could shoot the sentry down during the sap and was able to get the sapper off, he wasn't able to get it off in time for him to salvage one of his levels, which let my team push through and win the game with a few seconds left on the clock. The RTR is useful, just in the right context.

CTF Intel Nests (also known as "An Average Day On 2Fort") are incredibly vulnerable to the RTR with proper coordination on the part of the spy's team, in the sense that six level two sentries is a weaker defense than six level threes. Plus the Gunslinger is all about placing sentries constantly, so keeping the mini disabled for as long as possible will really twist their nipples.

Red Tape has its pros and cons While it's disgustingly slow at totally destroying a Sentry, it's very good at making an Engie miserable through the power of sheer inconvenience Considering how quickly the Red Tape de-levels Sentries, if you get it on it's likely you'll be setting some Texan sap back 200-400 Metal and up to a minute or two of his time

The reason it might be easier in older versions is because valve had to patch an exploit that allowed an engineer and friendly spy to give sentry guns an absurd amount of health. That exploit required pretty good timing as well. These two occurrences; the immortal sentry and immortal sapper, seem to have some correlation.

A sapper that makes the sentury target the enemy. Rev time 3-5 seconds destroys in 2 hits, destroys after 1 kill. Resupply in 20-30 seconds. Ammo box deducts 5 seconds on cooldown.

I have something to add to this set of glitches as I experienced it happening today, and it was similar to the dispenser glitch, but for the sentry gun. In addition I was on the same team as the engineer that had the glitched sapper sentry (I was a Medic), and was able to see where the building would be placed and the bubble that shows the sentry's range. I unfortunately do not have any proof of this but I can give as much information as I can. The map was Upwards, the engineer was using the jag, I was using the crusader's crossbow, stock med gun, and ubersaw, the sapper was the Snack Attack, at we were at the last point. I wonder if this can be recreated, as I thought of this video when I experienced it.

There might be an use for swapping sappers, if the engineer is and the apt manages to sap the sentry, but the push is stalled, swapping may make it easier to push as the engineer will have to respawn and upgrade it, instead of repairing it.

2:43 actually, this behavior is present without any glitching necessary. If you red-tape a functional teleporter, and the engineer takes the sapper off, it functions at the rate of a level 1 while rebuilding. Additionally, if you level up one end while the other is still building, the building end functions at its higher level - if you use the jag and rebuild a teleporter exit after taking a red-tape off at the last second, you can see this for yourself. It's just so not well-known because nobody uses the red-tape, and especially not on teleporters. The only thing "additional" in this case is that it visually has a sapper attached while still being functional and building.

Being able to switch sappers as the default would be such a really good buff to spy and would give the red tape recorder a use where it's usually void of use. Spy not having to go back to spawn to switch gives so much room for potential and also can you imagine how much more annoying he would be? The sapper is great for killing sentries faster sure but if the engi is far away enough his level 3 would become a level 2 in under 4 seconds causing significantly more impact than a regular sapper would.

Ive seen that dispenser outline glitch occur with buildings in versus saxton hale. I dont know what could cause the glitch, since it occurs when playing classes that arent spy, and is seemingly random and out of the players control. It even shows the sentry firing radius which can be really jarring when youre running away from the bad Australian man
