Those using visco fuse to connect fireworks - and are wanting to protect the fuse with either tape or foil - may find this video useful. Uses for visco include linking several fireworks together so they fire at the same time, or one after the other. Reasons for covering that fuse with tape or foil may include to protect them from sparks or rain.
Here I am satisfying my own curiosity as to whether covering visco massively affects how it burns. I wanted to see if enclosing it made it flash through quickly, explode, or burn much quicker.
So I fired one length of bare visco, another (the same length) covered tightly in tin foil (it looks loose in the video but inside is well wound around and snug) and finally another same length tightly enclosed in gaffa tape (again, very snug inside).
NOTE: Always take care if using fuse. This video is intended to share footage of my own fuse experiments and I don't promote or endorse its use with fireworks. Check the use of fuse is legal in your country.
