Man, Ryder actually helps in getting Grove back in the game and all, then he betrays you and you're forced to kill him, never to be mentioned again afterwards. Rockstar really did him dirty with that crappily implemented 'twist'. If they felt the need to kill him off, should've let him die fighting side by side with you in the 'Green Sabre' mission when you tryna safe Sweet. He'd at least died a homie, not a rat.

Actually, you can complete mission without killing him. Just take RPG or any other gun and destroy both boats from land before Ryder enters one and mission will be completed but Ryder will just disappear. PROVEN

It would've been good if Rockstar actually gave a freedom of choice whether to kill or show mercy to your old homie Ryder. Still an impeccable game considering its release date, ages like a fine wine. I'd love to see Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas official remake. I liked the whole GTA franchise, but San Andreas is a living world. A stainless masterpiece which deserves to be remaked.

You know it warms my heart seeing them becoming homies again. Ryder was CJ’s closest friend since they were kids. He never even wanted to be betray the grove or CJ. Smoke and Tenpenny forced them to or they kill him. If only the story was actually like this video. It's cause Rockstar ripped off ryders voice actor in their contract, and Rockstar wouldn't pay him the full amount so the actor quit and Rockstar decided to give him a forgettable death, he was originally supposed to be killed in the green Sabre and die a hero, but because Rockstar got butthurt, they ruined the story

Rockstar had to kill Ryder off in the game because half way through production the voice actor for Ryder either went to jail or quit, or a family issue. Something happened to where he couldn't record lines anymore so they killed his character off. It is unfortunate forsure.

Plus if they were gonna kill off Ryder, they should've had him died during the Green Sabre mission in that shot-off between the GFS and the Ballas. Where this way Ryder would've stayed loyal and died showing it, plus it would give CJ and bigger motivation to go after Big Smoke.
