I feel like if I don’t need a marriage license to be married then what’s the point of having one if it’s not necessary, I’m not gonna do it. I will just spend the rest of my life with one person, which is exactly what marriage is supposed to be.

If you sign your life away to the gov then it’s clear that a fool and his money and rights are soon parted. I think most people forget what marriage actually means, it’s not supposed to be a profit for the government and wife and reducing the rights of men while increasing the control over you, It’s about you your wife and God joining you together in holy matrimony.

Getting married with the state / government paper contract basically.. All that does is if the couple want a divorce that where that marriage contract takes place comes in.. because now loyers and cort fee's rack up into the thousands and the Debt just keeps racking up more so if children are involved and the Debt gets very deep.... People can get married with out marriage contract by just get married in the eyes of the Lord and there can be a contract they both can make up just in case they do want to part ways later down the road and pay a loyer to make it legal it's a lot cheaper in the long run.....

That's funny. Came here for an answer and found a "Don't do it" instead. Marriage through the state, the state becomes the husband and the state gets to choose what happens in the case of a divorce. Answer: Create an affidavit with your rules including what happens with/if finances, kids, pets, possessions. Then have it notarized. Turn it into the state. You will not be able to file taxes jointly.
