You actually CAN get back in the cabin, but it's tricky. You have you jump on top of one of the sheds by the cabin, then jump towards the cabin. You'll grab the ledge at the gap on top. Then, you climb up. You can then go down the ladder into the cabin. Unfortunately, not much in there. There WAS a lockbox in the lookout area on top of the ladder, but not much in the cabin.

I can confirm the body is still there after a long period of time as I spent a lot of game time messing around working on my 100% before going up to retrieve his gun after seeing a video. Also I can still access that building in the end Idk if this has anything to do with it but I went as Arthur long before finishing the story and it has a lock box on the second level. I checked the building over pretty thoroughly and it’s mostly empty outside of the usual tonics food cans and that lock box which had a money clip I think.

I’ve got a feeling rockstar are going to release a DLC of what happened after the gang spilt. Like Dutch didn’t run off with Micah for 7 years. You can tell this by Dutch walking away from Micah when Arthur dies and at the end scene with Dutch. John says to Dutch what he’s doing here, Dutch says “Same as you I suppose” hinting at killing Micah, then of course shooting him. I reckon the body in the small hut has something to do with Dutch returning to meet Micah.

You can actually go inside if you jump from the top of the shed next to it. There is a lockbox there with 10 dollars and pirate rum. And inside it the chest with the money and gold is missing, but you can get 1 peice of canned food.

You can get back inside the cabin. Jump up the black side of the shelter on the left. Go to the corner closest to the cabin and and jump, John will climb inside. then you can go down the ladder inside and explore. There is no chest but a loot box with pirate elixir and a sack of jewelry. You can definitely get inside the cabin. To get out of the cabin you must go back up the ladder to the corner with the 2-3 barrels and jump on the them. Then crouch and fall to the ground.

you can actually get in, the newest version lets you climb onto the building to the side and jump into the top, go down to the ladder and get some stuff and there’s a lockbox up top.
