If Harkon wins in Skyrim and beats the Dragonborn in the Dawnguard DLC then Skyrim would end up ruled by Vampires. Serana would not be impressed!

Hence why Serana eats bread rather than ever biting anyone. Molag Bal is about _choosing_ domination and forcing others, so requiring his creations for feed would be less about them choosing his way and forcing others vs them just going along with his plans.

Excuses not to prey on people sort of ruins the vampire concept. In the movie "Daybreakers", set in the modern world, vampires have taken over the world and the protagonist is one of them. In Daybreakers they have to work with the rules. Vampires have no reflection so a camera display a picture of the user on a screen i the bathroom. The protagonist is a hematologist desperatly trying to invent synthetic blood to feed the masses since without blood they wither into monstrosities. What little blood that can be harvested from the few remaining humans, that are kept in an artifical coma to be tapped for as much blood that they can survive to be rationed down to as little as a few drops in a cup of coffee.The few still free humans are mercilessly hunted to be captured. But Skyrim got it absolutely right, if Harkoon wins he ruins the world for everyone, including the vampires. Non Harkoon aligned vampires often gets it and may even offer bounties on vampires that threathens the masquerade. But in my opinion vampires SHOULD have a horror hunger. Imagine if Serana HAD to feed and it then would be a question of what targets she would be allowed to choose.

I think the “bloated sun” we see is more of a magical thing than just realistically blocking sunlight. Even when you do throw the arrow there is still light, it’s not as dark as nighttime. So i suppose crops and wildlife would continue to exist to some extent. Even Serana and Valerica who are against this plan do not mention the crops and wildlife dying, they just mention everybody would go against the vampires if he does it.

When a vampire blood soaked Arrow is shot at the hole to Aetherius(the sun) the Daedric powers of molag Bal within the blood lessen and even begin to overpower the Aedric presence of Magnus, thereby lessening the sun's negative effects on vampires. On the other hand, when a sunhallowed arrow is shot through Auriel's bow, at the sun, not only is the arrow getting boosted by Auriel's power himself, but also by Magnus and Aetherius itself as the energy from Aetherius rain down on your enemies. Lore wise, it effectively turns your arrows into nuclear weapons, but we obviously don't get that in game because it would be busted.

Bit off topic, but a short you guys posted a bit ago talked about the dragonborn being sent to continue the cycle rather than stop it. I believe I have found some rather obvious in-game proof of this. When talking to Paarthurnax about dragonrend, he will ask, 'Why do you want to learn this Thu'um?'. To which if you respond with 'I like this world. I don't want it to end.' He will say this in response: "Paaz. A fair answer. Ro fus… maybe you only balance the forces that work to quicken the end of this world. Even we who ride the currents of Time cannot see past Time's end… Wuldsetiid los tahrodiis. Those who try to hasten the end, may delay it. Those who work to delay the end, may bring it closer." I believe this is Paarthurnax saying that killing Alduin will do nothing but get the gears turning once again, hastening the end of the world. Now for a bit of a mid take from me: I think in TES6, either the Thalmor, a cult (similar to the Mythic Dawn cult) or both will be the antagonists. The Thalmor may use the next incarnation of Alduin in order to reach aetherious by 'destroying' Nirn or even wilder, the void of oblivion itself. A potential cult leader may try and use the next incarnation of Alduin and destruction of the world to become one of the new gods of the next world. Cultural gods in the event of the destruction of the world (this is if nirn, the moons, planes of daedra and oblivion itself are destroyed and remade) would cease to exist, or become a 'old' or 'forgotten' gods, influencing the world but dwindling in power due to lack of worship. Other gods based on concepts like sithis, akatosh and arkay, and the magna-ge (would be forgotten but would be worshipped as the sun) would likely survive. Of course, this means another 'save the world' plot, but I would hope TES6 would have better guilds, sidequests, world building lore, and eventually dlc making up for such a predictable plot.

Whenever i start a new playthrough, i always kill Harkon 1st, Miirak 2nd, and Alduin 3rd. It's what i think is canonically weakest to strongest, so it makes more sense to kill them in that order.

I'm pretty sure plants would be fine. No WAY they wouldn't think about that. My theory would be that the process would simply corrupt the sun into putting out different magical energies or removing certain traits or wavelengths that aggravated their vampire blood. If we are ignoring magical Influence and think purely scientific than I would remind you photosynthesis uses red light the most so I would imagine the reddish glow would still work fine. We don't know the exact wavelengths put out so it's not for certain but at worst some full sun loving plants would suffer and shade loving plants would be fine.

Huh, I remember having this discussion in a forum. Apparently, most organic life in Tamriel would die, which would be bad for vampires as well as they would have even less people and creature to feed on, so its highly possible the world would just slowly die unless the divine beings intervene.

I think that there was a movie similar to this outcome, where everyone was vampire, and humans was just farmed cattle or hunted. Blood was a rare commodity and a dwindling one. I can imagen in a world where mortals can't even grow food for them or their livestock, mortals would be rare or die out completely, leaving vampires to eventually starve to death as well. It's rather ironic that Harkons dream will lead to the death of his kind.

Most likely scenario, with the Dawnguard's immediate knowledge of the Volkihar clan's plans in fulfilling a prophecy to darken the skies, the Empire, Stormcloaks, Admeri Dominion, and just about any faction who is bothered by it will be tipped off about the cause and eventually a coalition of Tamriel's armies would come knocking on Harkon's doors

It’s worth mentioning that plant life might not die off in the lack of Light energies from Aetherus. Light is -according to the Ayleids- one of four main energies. In the absence of light, plants and animals would either die off or quickly draw on alternative energies to sustain themselves. For example, draining latent arcane energies from the soil and becoming bioluminescence as a result of converting the energy of stone into usable light energy.

@Undomaranel
@Undomaranel Жыл бұрын
They don't need to feed to survive. Vamps are undead, and drinking blood only relates to their abilities and comfort, not survival. Look at the game mechanics and the psychology of Molag Bal and it all makes sense.

Only some strains (like the one in ESO) *need* blood; Harkon's (which extends to all throughout Skyrim generally) only craves it, but grows stronger and less mortal through asceticism and abstinence.

So a theory I’ve heard of and liked when it comes to “The Tyranny of the Sun” is that it’s not the actual sunlight causing this issue of weakness for vampires. It’s the Aedric energies within sunlight, since vampires are the creation of Molag Bal. It’s already been pretty well-established that Arkay has some domain over the light of the world, so he could be flooding Nirn with his power from Aetherius to weaken vampires as much as he can. While he is unable to finish many strains of vampirism, he can make them so weak that they can be finished off by mortals without effort within daylight. This is what the prophecy aims to end: by using the blood of a sacrificed Daughter of Coldharbour, they profane the light that enters Mundus from Aetherius, twisting it and rending the vampire-burning properties it possesses. Plants wouldn’t die, but the minor influences of the Aedra would all but vanish from Nirn entirely.
