I am a float pool RN. Your information has be enormously helpful when I care for pts who have colostomies. Caring for the skin is so important. I have learned how little other nurses know about colostomies. I have referred them to your channel . 😊

I love love love your videos and the information I’ve learned from you. I’m still pretty new at this - had my colon removed 7 months ago. I’ve learned w from watching your videos than I did from all my nurses and medical professionals both at Loma Linda and my “skilled nursing” rehab stay. I had many nurses who knew nothing about changing an ileostomy pouch or how to teach me how to care for it. I also encountered a complete lack of empathy in the nursing center when my pouch broke open. Not only did they not know what to do, one of the aides ( she was probably about 22 and I’m 69) actually yelled at me asking me “what did you do?” when my bag burst open. The contents of the bag were all over me, the bed, the floor, and she’s yelling at me as though it was my fault! This was only 10 days after my surgery . I hadn’t even been taught how to deal with the pouch myself at that point! I literally think I had PTSD after that! You literally gave me courage and support with your videos. I kinda feel like a pro now and it is all due to you and your videos! Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a beautiful soul you are! ❤

My mother had your surgery as a senior adult. She never believed the medical staff when they told her things were fine. I want to thank you for making these videos. They are a great resource for Drs and Nurses to refer to patients. God bless you for what you do! ❤😊

Next year you need to stay a extra week and go to some of the national parks around there. Grand Canyon, bryce Canyon, and zion. 1,000 miles round trip back to las vegas. It's beautiful and the landscape changes back and forth.

Thank you so much for this video! I have had UC for 14 years and am so over it. I honestly just want surgery. I am sick of trying drug after drug and having them sort of work, but not really, then I fail and try another one. It reminds me a lot of my struggle with endometriosis - 22 years of trying pill after pill, IUD etc, and nothing really working. Hysterectomy cured me and the best thing I ever did. If only there was no bag, it would be an easy choice.

a few years ago the Lord gave me the mission to make bag covers for stomas... i laugh for three days because i had no idea how to sew... The Stoma Community help me sooo much on my mission... i now make items for bags and feeding tubes... etc... whatever they need.. but... All Praise goes to God for giving me the gift and mission... Amen!

Hey hi! My brother have chron's too, do you know if anyone needs surgery eventually or they can have a normal life? Do you eat anything in particular? Do you need to stay away from specific food? Have you experienced either low or high blood pressure with chron's? Light headed? He use injection for now, but every now and then he goes to the ER😢 thank you!! ❤

Why are you on meds if you had the surgery??

Surgery is not a cure. Crohn's can affect the entire GI tract - I only had my rectum and colon removed. I have had disease at the end of my small intestine which thankfully Humira healed!
