Excellent! I’m not paralyzed but have neurogenic bladder. I learned so much and this was very helpful. You’re a great speaker. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I was on Oxybutinin for a long time, nearly 20 years till I realised my nose would bleed at night when I was asleep. Few years after my meds got changed, I found out that anticholinergics have been linked to a higher risk of getting dementia 🙁. I am really enjoying your very informative videos, thank you for making them.
@EmpoweredPara11 ай бұрын
Yes they are linked to dementia! I guess we gotta decide whether the risk is worth it:)
@cpr589 ай бұрын
thank you, that explains it a lot better than they did when I was in the hospital. Maybe they thought I should know because I had been a paramedic, or I may not have been paying attention too well at that time.

How do I know if I have an upper or low neurogenic bladder?
@EmpoweredPara2 жыл бұрын
It depends on where your injury is. If you have any nerve damage in your sacral region (tailbone) then you likely have lower neurogenic bladder and if your injury is higher than T10 ish you have a upper motor neuron neurogenic bladder.

I am a male and I used to force myself to pee by sticking my finger in my butt. I had the bladder trained so I could hold pee for 4-5 hours. I have lost all control since I've spent so much time in hospitals lately and have an indwelling cath. I wish I could regain that control.

Thank you so very much about explaining the global toxicity of Botox. Yes, I can see where decreasing spasms in the bladder may be a good thing...but some doctors just want some new tire rims or whatever and don't bother telling of complications. I have had several friends, and know of others, who lost permanent muscle function (as if being paralyzed isn't bad enough) and I personally think it is way over rated. As you said it's the Botchulism toxin...I can't wrap my head around why people would want to constantly inject poison into themselves (it's every 6 months...but still). I also really read up on the urodynamics test and according to any medical laws...if the problem is an obvious one like a broken neck or broken back or spina bifida or CP...that very uncomfortable test isn't even warranted...and it is only done for insurance or MSI reasons.
@EmpoweredPara2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the doctors NEVER talk about the side effects of botox.
@morgancalvi66752 жыл бұрын
@@EmpoweredPara I know...and everyone that gets them...ONLY say how good they've helped them. If they only knew. There are meds advertised on TV that say 'side effect stroke or death'...I know I'm not taking those...yet no doctor ever says side effect of Botox...further paralysis. Why? Kickbacks from the pharmacies for each prescription...it's their incentive NOT to say something about side effects. I'd not want to take it either.

For a bladder augmentation, it should be noted that the surgery of the large intestine can later potentially lead to bowel obstructions later in life due to the scare tissue.
