My employer bought a pair of DAF 510. XFs Minters Ex Matlock Transport as Fill in units. I was allocated one... The most comfortable lorry I have ever driven As a very Old School Lorry Driver away for weeks and having driven All ERFs Big Js. Atki Borderers etc etc The Daf is a jewel.. DAF Aid whizzed out on A Sunday Evening and Lo and Behold fitted a new water pump in no time... A really switched on "Technician" "" "who got me back up The Track.... Would love a New XG.... Dream On Dougie....

Moral of the story is "If it's a Daf , it's naff. LOL

Good to see kitted out vans, I done 2 years with iveco in paisley and service manager didn’t have the balls to stand up to stores controller, so no parts in van no diagnostic laptop but still expected everything to be done roadside, then service manager couldn’t understand why I left

Great video - nice to see what goes on 'behind the scenes' to keep our drivers going.

Would be nice if DAF Aid Control asked the odd extra question, like "in what way does it not start?" or "How are you not abloe to get in; does the key not turn in the lock?" This sort of thing can be a tremendous help when it might be starter motor, batteries, relays, keys, immobiliser, locks, handles etc, just on the two examples.

My daf broke down last week , my local dealer sent a lad out to fix it , got out the van chewing the jaw off himself asking me what kind of porn I was into, fixed the truck tho so all is good 👍🏻

Mercedes Actros v6 Euro 3-4 ( Mp1-Mp3) are absolutely marvelous, you cant imagine the beating the get here in africa, old but absolutely joy. Then came the Euro 5( Mp4) with the atrocious Detroit engines on them, and never mind the senseless amount of electronics and sensor. 2nd hand Mercedes benz truck never had a bad reception as this junk of a euro 5

It amazes me with the amount of drivers that don't carry night out gear . Not all ETAs are within the 60 mins and in some cases certain parts have to be couriered from miles away

We have a mixture of CF LF and XF a total of 30 and to be honest have had very few major problems,worst trucks we ever had were some 16 plate Scania,s nothing but trouble,had them less than a year.
