Are you able to do a video of how the ear nose and throat are connected and how they become infected with viruses and bacteria. Also one about CMT (Charcot Marie Tooth Disease) regarding the brain and peripheral nerves becoming damaged. The CMT one would mean a lot to me as I personally suffer from this condition. At 75, with uterine cancer, I had a total hysterectomy. I was partially incontinent, no change. Orgasms are the same. Nothing else is different. Been wanting this done since i was 18. No medication or hormones and nothing else has changed. I have a long scar from below the bellybutton to pubic area, which healed up nicely, as far as i know. Gaining weight makes it look like a butt in front! It's fine. I'm alive, feeling good, losing weight and enjoying life without pain once again. Best thing that could have happened! 💕💕💕

My mom got one done when she was 44 (they almost denied her since she wasn’t 45 yet, which is beyond ridiculous since she has 2 adult children, but they did since her uterus was very enlarged) and it saved her life. I remember waking up to her shaking and sweating while curled up in a ball on her period in agonizing pain. She had complained to doctors for YEARS, she also had blood in her stool before her periods started (they kept saying “are you sure you didn’t just start your period?”, my mom always said “I know the difference between my vagina and my asshole” 🤣) and did occult blood tests on her but never at the right time. When they finally did it, they found endosalpingiosis, not endometriosis, all over her bowels. Endosalpingiosis is extremely rare, her surgeon said she’s never seen it before and hasn’t even seen a case of endometriosis so severe). They removed the endosalpingiosis, did an appendectomy, and a hysterectomy while leaving her ovaries in. It literally saved her life. The fact that she was begging for even just exploratory surgery FOR YEARS and not listened to in the slightest about her symptoms is what really shows how incredibly flawed our healthcare system is. Also, since roe v. wade is overturned, can we PLEASE trust women to get sterilization procedures like hysterectomies done regardless of age and child status? I have friends younger than me who’ve had vasectomies (I’m 23) and vasectomies are not always reversible and reversal can be really expensive regardless. Women are more than baby makers and not all of us want to be mothers, some of us are petrified of it.
@TigerMom489
@TigerMom489 Жыл бұрын
I agree. Doesn’t make sense that a man can easily get a vasectomy but a woman needs permission from her husband, or just to jump through hoops in hoping to get herself sterilized. Smh. I can’t speak from personal experience on that, but I know women who have. It’s ridiculous!

How long back did you have your hysterectomy? Is there any side effects post hysterectomy. Just wanted to ask because my mother had gone through this recently. She also had a little complication where the bladder was cut during the operation and now she has to go for another operation for vesico-vaginal fistula.

@@i_am_afroz_alam had a partial hysterectomy about six years ago. Afterwards, I noticed that it is difficult for me to sense when I need to urinate until it is almost an emergency -meaning drop everything and run for the bathroom! I had had massive fibroids that made my periods horribly draining in terms of cramping and amount of bleeding. It was so bad that I had no energy and I eventually blacked out (I didn’t fully faint, but my vision went black and I lost my balance and fell down). It turned out that I was critically anemic and I had to have 3 units of blood transfused. So…considering what my life was like before, post-surgery was easy. They removed my uterus, tubes, and one ovary because it had fibroids and a cyst. They left one ovary, per my request, since I wasn’t yet in menopause. I’d rather menopause come gradually rather than suddenly! I’m so sorry that your mother had that complication! I’m sending positive energy to her (and you) and I hope that her surgery goes well!! ✌🏼💖

@@i_am_afroz_alam mine was 40+ years ago. As far as side affects they differ with how much they took out. If they just took the uterus then most of the time if there is side affects they are usually minuscule. If the ovaries are removed it puts the patient into surgically acquired menopause. Might need HRT then. (Hormone replacement therapy). Different people react differently to menopause so I can’t really tell you about that.

I had a hysterectomy for endometriosis and it did nothing for the pain in my case. They left the ovaries and fallopian tubes and I went through dry menstrual cycles which were every bit as painful as before the hysterectomy. This because the uterus was not the problem to begin with. It was the endometrial tissue that had found its way to my bowel and bladdet. The pain disappeared completely when I went through natural menopause. I guess it's a coin toss..

I just had a laproscopic hysterectomy in April...everything except my ovaries. Im 45 and feel better now than i have my entire adult life. It took me 20 years and many gynecologists until I found one who would listen and take me seriously. And even then, she was shocked when she got in there and saw how huge my uterus was (adenomyosis...we thought only fibroids) To any future doctors here....the most important thing you can do is LISTEN to your patients. Most people dont beg for help just for the fun of it. And women know their bodies. When you have a woman who tried for a decade to get pregnant, she knows the difference between intestinal pain and her uterus. And to anyone here facing a hysterectomy....its not what you fear. @@naomimay82 There are better ways. I think what people don't understand, is that you are losing a sex organ, not just a reproductive organ. Also a connection with your inner self. Organs move out of position to fill in the gap which affects your centre of gravity, back pain results. It's little wonder depression and a profound sense of emptiness that is inescapable results. Please believe me, I live this daily and I am only trying to save others from this heinous surgery. You will know what I mean if you have this. There are other means of preventing pregnancy - tubal ligation, OC, etc. Do anything, but don't part with your uterus. I told him if I had go through another surgery he was going to pay the bill and if he didn’t believe he better rethink that. I was over the moon when I found out I was having a little baby boy! Unfortunately, many will never quite understand nor care what us women endure because of our biology. I was 34 at the time & had to go to 3 different obgyns (lots of uterine issues) before they’d allow it, but I had a laparoscopic total hysterectomy a year ago with a quick recovery & felt great after just 3 weeks. It also significantly improved my previous urinary incontinence issues I’d had for almost 10 years. Sex & orgasms are better than before. No more heavy periods, no more pain. Weight loss has been a breeze with birth control no longer being a factor. If you are sure you don’t want future babies, go for it! 💕 ETA: Total hysterectomy = uterus and cervix removed. I have my ovaries! Hormonal changes have been significant weight loss, more stable moods & no more period issues.

I am so glad it turned out well for you! I have been wanting a hystorectomy for a while. I was diagnosed with prolapse at age 25!!! I did physical therapy and use pessaries for it. My periods have always been heavy and painful and each one makes me relive the miscarriage I suffered. I tried EMDR therapy to help resolve that but it didn't work for me. I'm almost 30 now and my incontinence is much improved. But I am worried a hystorectomy would make my bladder prolapse. My OBGYN retired and there is a shortage, so the replacement one I saw also retired. I had to make an appt. with a different doctor in that office ONE YEAR in advance. We will see if she takes me seriously and actually discusses options rather than just saying "let your hubby get the snip snip". That option will not help me. 😭

I describe those days as a living hell because of the terrible pains and bleeding. The situation was so horrible that I almost lost my job because of my lack of attention and my constant sadness. After the surgery my life improved in every aspect: no more pain, no more anemia, no more extra clothing in my purse, no more headaches. I started to shine of happiness again! Hey, just curious--did you ever get your hormone levels tested before your hysterectomy? I know that "hormone imbalance" is a pseudomedicine buzzword, but it's truly what caused my extreme mood swings and debilitating period pains (cramps, backaches, even vaginal pain). Once I got tested and got treatment suddenly everything was tolerable. Your case definitely sounds worse than mine, and I definitely don't mean to say some pills would've helped you like they helped me. Just wondering if you have any info on what your levels looked like ^^

i also had to have a ultra radical hyterectomy in my early 30"s due to severe endmetriosis.. I wasnt able to continue any hormone replacement as they were so concerned about the endometriosis spreading into other parts of my body. overabundance of estorgen is what caused my endo they told me. i had it in 2006 in MI. At the UofM hospital. I woke up from surgery in MENOPAUSE it was awful. they took everything out robotically assisted oophrendectomy. i have been without my ovaries, F tubes, cerivx and uterus. took it all out. I just wanted to reach out after i read your story. I always felt so alone in that I had such an exteme surgery at such a young age. im now in my 50:s and having issues with bladder and bowels. I am praying that someone will help me to look into these things to make sure im not developing any problems that cant be helped. i have no gastroenterologist in my town, and I am way over 3 years since my last colonoscopy,. i have also had polyps removed from my colon in past. was told it takes 3 years to grow. so i have had to endure many colonoscopies in my life already but for good reason. Just sharing my story too. BIGGEST BLESSING that i was able to have the URH it helped to save my life! i felt i was starting my life over again as well. No more EXTREME pain and no more HEAVY bleeding and curled up in a ball with heating pad and taking 800 mg of IBUPROHEN every 4 hours round the clock. i was so happy that i could work again without losing jobs and missing so much school due to my endometriosis. I had a total hysterectomy a few years ago. My periods were awful and painful and I'd already had one child and was in my late 30s. No gynecologist over the course of my life had ever even mentioned that word despite me complaining multiple times about my pain. The doctor who did my hysterectomy was great and totally supportive. He did tell me exactly what @eternitydoor said - ablations can be really painful and more often than not they fail after a short time. Honestly if I were you I'd go with the uterus removal. To all future women who watch this and want to do it, do it. Don’t let people, doctors or society tell you no because of future regrets or your ‘job/use as a woman.’ The uterus doesn’t produce hormones, just the ovaries. Don’t let people confuse you. It is also way better to regret not having kids, than having them. You are much more than just your reproductions. You do not owe anyone kids; not society, your partner, parents, etc. This is your life, your decisions that matter more than anything. There is regret and complications with everything in life, don’t let people manipulate/gaslight your decision and feelings by scare tactics.

I had a hysterectomy, it has definitely made changes to my body that wasn't there before, it does effect your body because our organs work together and when one is missing or not working properly, our entire body is impacted both negatively and positively. With that said, I don't regret having one because my period was literally killing me(severe anemia)and everything else that was tried worked temporarily but eventually went back to the way it was so hysterectomy was best for me. I do recommend if you can keep the ovaries because it will be better for the hormones and less side effects of depression and other unsavory effects of having no more healthy and natural hormone.

First off 🤦‍♀️. Second, it's not just about CHILDREN it's about having an UNNECESSARY procedure. For no GOOD/HEALTH reason. Obviously if someone has health issues that's a Completely different story. If they DO NOT why would someone WANT or even support someone to do something UNNECESSARY. If I had a daughter & they tell me they wanna get rid of theirs WITHOUT any specific reason as her MOTHER is recommend in a heart beat against it...
@karinalemieux9396
@karinalemieux9396 3 ай бұрын
@@anamarier4791 I think that is an interesting take because you are putting your own feelings/opinions about this onto people/someone who do not agree. If women want to get a hysterectomy just because, why not? Your daughter may deem is necessary to her, why not give your opinion then move a long with what ever decision she makes? As with anything in life, there is risks, complications and concerns but that doesn’t mean we should limit people just because of our own opinions and beliefs. If she wants one just because, cool. If she doesn’t, great. If she ends up needing one, alright. Suggest against it but at the end of the day, it is still her choice, her body/life and her possible burden to carry as with any decision she will make or have in life. ☺️

As someone who was sexually active before and after my ultra radical hysterectomy (EVERYTHING WAS REMOVED as I had cancer), it definitely affected sexual pleasure. All the tissue that contracts during orgasm is just... gone. It was a huge blow to sexual function and I had to make a huge adjustment in how approached (and saved) my sex life. From hormone therapy with estradiol, I ended up losing my gallbladder from stones, which is a side effect. The body and our ability to recover the way we do at times is mind-blowing.

This is so similar to my story! Replace the endo in the appendix to horrible endo in my uterosacral ligaments for the third damn time. I lost an ovary due to chocolate cysts. Eventually after being removed multiple times, it infiltrated the vessels of my left ovary and fallopian tube. They thought I would have to have a bowel resection and possibly have a temporary ostomy. So happy that didn’t happen. I’m 25. Had it at 24.

Please do a video focused specifically on fibroids - I had a TLH to remove a huge fibroid that was the size of a 5 month pregnancy. The surgery took many hours and I couldn’t see any pictures because it was all cut up during laparoscopy. I would love to see what it actually looked like, and a comparison of fibroids in different sizes. A lot of the women in these comments have had fibroids so there’s definitely an audience for more information about this.

I had a robotic assisted laproscopic hysterectomy which included the cervix, tubes, and ovaries because I had an ovarian cyst that started growing way too fast about a year ago, and it had cancer cells in the fluid. I kept my vagina, as after the cyst was drained and removed, the uterus was removed vaginally. Because of the cancer cells, HRT isn't an option for me, and the gynecologic oncologist who did my surgery said that the cyst had probably been there for years, and I instantly lost 70lbs from that cyst being removed. I now have more energy than I had in years.

I am 45, and had my radical hysterectomy at 31. It took me 12 years and 7 doctors to finally diagnose me with endometriosis. Once diagnosed, my insurance Company made my doctor put me on so many medications before finally allowing the hysterectomy. I was on Lupron 4 different times. Continually birth control when not on the Lupron. I had 4 laparoscopies to ablate endo tissue growing outside my uterus. I had a D&C twice. By the time the insurance company approved my hysterectomy, I was about to go in for a blood transfusion because I was loosing so much blood daily. I ended up bleeding every day for a year, even on Lupron. Turns out, not only did I have a severe case of endo, but I had cervical cancer, and multiple cysts on my ovaries as well as endo on my bladder. The hysterectomy was done laparoscopically with removal out of the vaginal canal because my uterus was so huge and mangled at the same time. It took me about 7 weeks to recover enough to go back to work, but it took my body almost 2 years to rid itself of all the harmful chemicals that had been pumped into me over the past 14 years before my surgery. All I can say is that I am so incredibly glad I have lived pain free for the past 14 years, and I just wished that doctors would listen to their patients when they speak. We all know our own bodies better than anyone else does. That needs to account for something.

I had to have a radical hysterotomy in my 40's. I'd had pain &heavy bleeding for years. Sometimes, it would be very intense, dropping me to the floor in a ball of agony. Literally. After years of suffering, a Doctor finally listened to me & ran some tests. Turned out that my uterus was basically a giant tumor with the tubes & ovaries being pushed above it until they fused together above the uterus. The lack of room would make them twist back & forth, excruciatingly. The twisting happened on the operating table for the Doctors to witness. He did an exploratory to check my nearby organs, as well, to make sure nothing else was affected. I have a scar from my belly button to my pelvic bone, now, but I'm doing fine now. The Doctor also taught at a Medical college in my state & asked my permission to have the uterus for his students to examine & study. Of course I said yes! Hopefully it helped a few future Doctors go the extra mile to investigate a similar matter with their own patients. I spent years & years suffering & I feel sooo much better now!

Two weeks ago i had my total hysterectomy (without removing the overies, in my country its also called total even if these are left). I needed one because my period was out of hand. I basically bled 3 weeks every month. The reason: my hormones where out of balance and my uterus produced to much uterine lining and not all of it was removed every month. That led some cells to form a precancerous stage. Hormones where not an option. Never felt so good in my live. The operation was good and without complications, i left the hospital after 3 days (3 to 4 days are normal). No pain.

Interesting to see a video about it. No more worries each month I'm going to bleed out! It sounds like you and I had similar issues with the heavy periods/clotting, etc. I always had long, heavy and painful periods. I got pregnant (unexpectedly) and had my daughter when I was 37. When my period started a few months after I gave birth it was even worse. I was bleeding so much that I couldn't go anywhere because I would soak through the most absorbent pads in an less than an hour. Thankfully my doctor was great and told me he'd do a total hysterectomy without any arguments. They found stage 4 endometriosis when they were doing the surgery. It was wrapped around my bowels and bladder. They removed as much as they could, but since my ovaries weren't removed the endometriosis is back and tethering some of my organs together again and causing pain. I'm going to be scheduling surgery for that soon. It's been about five years since that hysterectomy so I'm not completely surprised since there's a high likelihood of recurrence within that time period. I thought that risk was worth not having to go through menopause before age 40, but sometimes I wonder.

I’m approaching 10 years out. Having a hysterectomy is the best medical decision I’ve taken! I had very bad period pain both during and between periods, I had very heavy periods and my periods would usually last 7-10 days at a time. I also wasn’t helped by hormonal contraceptives and Mirena along with Cerazette ruined my pelvic joints for life (I have hEDS). I was at my wits end both physically and mentally by the time I had my surgery, and I felt better 3 days post op after a TAH (Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, so open surgery and my scar looks like a cesarean scar) than I did the day before surgery. Evicting Lord Voldemort (yes, my uterus had a name) was instant relief in so many ways for me! The post op pain also responded well to painkillers which the uterus pain didn’t. I didn’t just get rid of the pain and periods, my IBS improved by a lot when there’s no longer a cramping uterus triggering the IBS, and it also greatly improved or even cured my migraines. I’ve now been migraine free (or only very mild migraines) since soon after my surgery. I only have my ovaries left now, I was very young when having my surgery (turned 28 a few weeks post op) so it was in my best interest to keep ovaries as they weren’t diseased and keeping my own hormones was the better option as HRT is never the same. But yeah, uterus and cervix are gone and good riddance! Think they removed the tubes as well but not sure, I just do know the ovaries are still in there. I’m now nearing 38 and have had no issues from my surgery during these almost 10 years since surgery. No adhesions or anything. I’m just feeling more stable hormone wise and never have to worry about getting periods at the most inconvenient times

@@56658IUDs are specifically made to incite an inflammatory reaction. This inflammation isn't limited to the immediate area, it can easily spread to nearby structures in the pelvis and abdomen. As an example, IUDs were actually found to increase antibodies directly associated with developing Rheumatoid Arthritis, a chronic joint disease, by over 250% in a study from 2014. Part of having hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) is that your joints are weaker and more prone to injury and other issues, so stuff like inflammation causes even bigger problems than it would for someone with regular joints. Quite frankly, even now almost 10 years later, I can just try to sit up in bed to get up and have an SI joint (most often the right side) slide out of place ever so slightly so I get completely locked in place until it goes back in again. I can’t even be helped up while my SI joint is out because I just can not move to a seated position at all then. I can also have an SI joint going out some if I’m just laying in bed and just bend my legs a bit or put one foot over the other, it just takes nothing for it to happen. I have been super anxious, and have found myself watching informative videos on what to expect. Hopefully after my pathology comes back, I will be cancer free and only need to be tested when the doctors deem it.

Wow!!! This is one of the best videos I've ever seen. In 2002 i had a hysterectomy. Uterus,tubes,overies gone.I had over 35 fibroids in there. I begged my surgeon to leave the area around the cervix intact as that is where my sexual arousal nerves are.Thank God he listened,thank God i knew ahead of time.The studies of sexual function for women are so far off.I hope they improve & help out the ladies.

A friend of mine had a hysterectomy due to unstoppable bleedings after giving birth and she is suffering infertility since that day. And I say "suffering" cause she always wanted to be a mom of two and has not the chance to have a 2nd child by her own strength and this is really working on her. I see how she tries to cope with that even 10 years after the operation and I am very sorry for her. Of course, for some women a hysterctomy may be a big relief when they have health issues and decide to get rid of the womb by themself, but in the case of my friend it was a emergency case and she really had no other choice because she would have died on her baby´s birthday if the doctors had not taken the organ out of her. So in some cases a hysterectomy is on the one hand life saving, but on the other hand may cause mental problems and a big cut in life!

My mother had a hysterectomy when I was 1 year old. She had nearly everything removed, minus part of her cervix. Her ovaries were cystic and she had horrible Endometriosis. This was back in 1974, so she had a full abdominal surgery with a transverse cut. She has a huge amount of adhesions but refuses to get them removed. No more surgeries for her! :)

Recently had my theatre placement as a student midwife, we do 4 days in general theatre and 3 of mine were in gynaecology. Saw 4 radical hysterectomies, learnt more about the anatomy of the reproduction system than in any of my classes, although none of the women were pregnant (nor recently) thankfully. It was one of the most interesting experiences, it's made me really appreciate this channel and the teaching you do!

I had a vaginal total hysterectomy at 35 because I had adenomyosis and fibroids. A few years later I had the tubes and ovaries taken out. I had a large ovarian cyst that they thought might be malignant. It wasn’t, thank goodness. They did find endometriosis. I’m glad I had all of that done. It helped with my pain, but it didn’t take it all away. The adhesions also cause a lot of pain. So fascinating to see the actual organs.

The hysterectomy was absolutely life changing for me, since then I’m disabled, 22 surgeries later, chronic pain, inability to work anymore, Ileostomy etc. because the surgeon forgot to suture “me together” after removing the uterus. Because of the medical costs we lost our house…and couldn’t sue the doctor due to the fact that lifesaving surgeries were performed not in Canada

As always, I find your videos extremely informative and to the point! 15 months ago I went through emergency surgery for peritonitis with septic shock. 10 nights in the ICU plus a couple more on the surgical floor and I was ready to go home! The first surgeon couldn't see from the cat scan if I had a abscess on my left ovary or my bowel. He did laparotomy to drain the abscess (which he incorrectly thought was the ovary). Released from the hospital on March 14th only to be readmitted on the 17th with septic shock for an emergency open abdominal 4.5 hour surgery with 4 surgeons! They found food floating inside my abdominal cavity! Anyway- I'm so happy to be relatively healthy and alive with all my limbs attached and working!! The bottom line is I have to have more surgery to reverse the temporary ostomy the surgeon did to save my life, clean up scar tissue and to remove my 64YO uterus that is still intermittently having periods!! They will leave my ovaries as even at my age they still have an advantage per the gyne. I was going to ask the gyne about a vaginal hysterectomy the same time the general surgeon was reversing my ostomy. The general surgeon was concerned about handling the bowel too much to get to the uterus as it could damage the bowel but knew it was best to do both at the same time. Thanks for showing the different approaches to the hysterectomy! P.S. Thank you to the donor who made this video possible!!

Had vaginal hysterectomy at age 36, fibroids. Only difference was no more long painful periods, had 2 kids early 20s and had a tubal ligation after, I wanted no more. I felt better than I had in years, I highly encourage it. Women need to be able to choose when they want to be sterilized whether they have children or not. Its a personal decision, not a relatives, Drs, husbands/boyfriends or anybody elses.

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy when I was 37 after dealing with extreme menstrual pain and infertility. I was opened from one hip to the other. Turns out I had severe endometriosis (which they could not totally remove without damaging other organs) and adenomyosis. After about a year or so of birth control pills to suppress my cycle, the endo on the other organs disappeared. While my recovery was long and difficult, my quality of life was improved exponentially.

Has your enjoyment improved since then? I have a uterine pre-cancer and am wondering if the change in enjoyment is due to removing structures or the hormonal crash after your ovaries are removed. Has your body adjusted? It was recommended that I have a hysterectomy but it's very scary to me.

I had a full abdominal hysterectomy when I was 33. Best decision ever. My periods had me in bed for the first 2 - 3 days and lasted a full seven days. When my OB/GYN said he would do the hysterectomy, I cried with relief, knowing the pain and dizziness from the monthly literal drain from my body was finally going to be over. I'd already had both of my kids and my husband had had a vasectomy so I had no need of this organ that was causing me so much pain and other issues! I had both kids via c-section so they went in through my c-section incision line. My OB/GYN also did the Burch procedure to make sure I didn't end up incontinent. It's been 22 years since my hysterectomy and I still don't pee when I cough so I'd say my OB/GYN did a fantastic job!

My experience: uncontrolled bleeding and pain, BUT wanted the least necessary. Still bleeding and pain. Went back and took more, all vaginally. Not resolved. Finally went for everything and Dr went in thru low previous C-section. I said if there is any mystery, please open me up so you can SEE and take/fix. So radical hysterectomy and a month of hormones in my 40’s and now many years of no problems. Really so helpful AND will never have 4 different cancers. Great doctor BTW.

I had multiple surgeries for my hysterectomy because they wanted to save tissue. But from 2017-2020 I was in surgery about 5 times with complications and ovarian cysts (one of MANY of my female issues). I’ve been on estrogen patches since 2020 but I went through menopause right after the initial partial hysterectomy. I’m just glad my parts are gone because I’ve never lived a normal life until I had it done. My periods, cysts, endometriosis, and heavy heavy bleeding was overwhelming my life for so many years.

Awesome breakdown of the different types. In 2005 at the age of 35 I had a total hysterectomy. I had suffered from the age of 12 with the worst periods and then the fibroids came later. My procedure was abdominal with a transverse incision. The only issue I had was with the staples. My body didn't like them so my GYN removed them and I had an open wound that my mother (a nurse) cleaned and packed daily until it closed. It was kinda freaky walking around with an opening in the abdomen even though it was covered. The scar is straight and looks like a pencil line. Pretty incredible how the body works some things out.

It’s going to be life changing honestly My mum had severe endo and it made such a difference to her life. Sadly two people were lost from the gynaecology unit so the wait list has gone from like 3-6 months for the level I’m on to two years. Which is a lot. Plus I should have been cat 1 anyway or emergency but with the back log I didn’t even get to see them before they judged me to be cat 2. I’m thankful for the medical system in Australia as I won’t be paying for it thankfully. If I went private I could get it much sooner but as I am a full time carer I just don’t get paid enough to do that.

@@bluwasabi7635 I was really lucky, I had a great doc and had my birth control not eliminated the periods for quite a few years he was willing to fight for me to get one back then when I was 19 or so. He’d known me since I was 13 and that I wanted to foster since then. I haven’t been fully diagnosed but since my mother and sister have it confirmed and I really really don’t want biological kids as I have genetic things I can pass on, they just said it’s not worth having a laparoscopic surgery to confirm then to have another to remove it haha. It’s crazy that it took that long though. My friend it took her 7 years and she’s a couple of years older than me (I’m 28 she’s 30) She had very typical signs of it and the doctors just refused to test or take her pain seriously. She ended up going to about 7 or 8 doctors before they would send her to a specialist. It was so painful for her to go through it.

I'm 33 and I'm 10 days away from the one year anniversary of my total hysterectomy. I had unexplained, uncontrolled bleeding for more than two months and I asked my OBGYN for a hysterectomy. She didn't hesitate. My cervix, uterus, and tubes were taken. My ovaries were left to prevent me from going into menopause (and also they weren't the thing bleeding lol) My hysterectomy was a combination of robotic assisted laparoscopic and vaginal. I have four tiny little scars on my belly were the ports were and they have healed very nicely. This was the best decision I could have made for myself and I'm so happy with the results. If anyone has any questions about it, feel free to ask! I'm an open book! ^^

Even with the 10wks of painful recovery, it was worth it to now live without the constant pains and the excruciating, debilitating torture every month. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy at 31. I'd had a lot of trouble with my periods since 13 and tried everything. Endometriosis was ruled out from a prior laprascopic surgery and it was thought with 99% certainty that adenomyosis was the problem. The only way to confirm it 100% was pathology of the uterus after removal. In the end they didn't find anything and the cause is still unknown. But I don't care, problem solved, best thing I ever did and zero regrets. Uterus caused problems in my sex life too so that also improved a lot. If I could've brought the thing home and burned it at the stake I would have!
