Manned aircraft would not be the first contact made in an opening hostility. First, begins the SEAD's (Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses) phase where MALD (Miniature Air Launched Decoy) missiles are fired. These missiles mimick any aircraft that they are programmed for. This causes the SAM (Surface to Air Missile) systems to light up their fire control radars and begin firing interceptors at the decoys, which gives away their positions. There may also be some Suter Technology and MIJI (Meaconing Intrusion Jamming and Interference) involved. When the interceptors are expended, then DEAD's (Destruction of Enemy Air Defenses) begins, and tomahawks, fired from warehouse planes or ships and guided by either GPS or by the F35's data links destroy the SAM systems. THEN manned aircraft will arrive. There will be stealth fighters first accompanied by possibly some Growlers that carry HARM (Homing Anti Radiation Missiles) and if they detect a jamming frequency they fire a HARM to the emissions source while emitting their own jamming signal. Once manned bombers arrive, air defenses will have been mostly destroyed. Edit There is not much out there about Suter Technology, but it's an EW (Electronic Warfare) system developed by Israel and the US. It's believed this is what Israel uses to fly undetected past Russian SAM systems in Syria.

Iraq had plenty of time to repeat that feat if that was not a shot down by mistake. Also, F-117 had 1400 combat sorties overall. One shot down in 1400 combat sorties and that too unescorted combat sorties makes it the best bomber of all times. The F-117 stealth is a proven combat advantage.

SEAD is only needed when the strike force is non-stealthy. When you go in and suppress radar, all you're doing is alerting them to an incoming strike. I was on Lt. Gen. Hoerner's battlestaff during Desert Storm, as an aviation meteorologist, and worked directly with their planners on developing and tuning strike packages. Daily, for months.

The df 21, being a ballistic missile, wouldn't it leave the atmosphere and eject the engine leaving only the warhead to re-enter? That's what's supposed to make them deadly and hard to stop. I think the chinese even have them now with a re-entry glide warhead which allows it to maneuver around air defenses. The way it's depicted here, the entire missile is coming in, engines and all.

The F-35 will be able to guide all the missiles the new F-15EX missile truck fires guide them into the missiles own radar turns itself on all without ever being in range of enemy air defenses. Even if seen achieving and holding a lock long enough to shoot at it is nearly impossible as it will have ample warning time and just leave. USA can dominate any battlefield at any point in time believe it. So much tech that we DON'T know about and may never. You don't ever tell your enemy all your best weapons capabilities and USA is even known to lie and make it's stuff seem weaker than it is to make other countries not feel as threatened thus avoiding another weapons race like with Soviets during cold war. 🇺🇲Not the ones you want a fight with.

The whole goal is to crush your enemy with as little loss to your own side as possible. One very successful way of doing that is with allies bringing such overwhelming force to the battlefield the enemy has no chance. Exactly what the US did in WW2 especially to Japan. China is in an untenable strategic position surrounded by effectively unsinkable giant aircraft carriers and incapable of meeting both its food and raw material needs without running through some of the most difficult choke points in the world. Make no mistake while war with China would be terrible for the US it would be infinitely more so for China. Remember what Japan did to China in WW2. Well the US is orders of magnitude more effective at war and has Japan and most the rest of the world as allies. So don’t even think of invading Taiwan and start following internationally accepted laws on the right of nations to the sea near their coasts. Otherwise China might not like what other nations decide to do to give China incentive to be a good neighbor. The sanctions are just a start. China doesn’t want to find itself where Russia is.

Well it has to actually fly first. Then be fully tested and triled. Then final changes have to be made to the design. The more test and triles. Then it has to go into production. Then it has to be delivered. Then the units have to train with it. Then there have to be enough of them in service to actually go operational. Then and only then can they attack anyone.

This must never happen. When two great powers start shooting, the conflict can get of control quickly. Particularly when the homelands become targets. The two nations must realize this, and refrain from initiating dangerous military actions. Tiawan must be left alone by China and the US need not threaten China but make it very clear that China needs to respect the current status of Taiwan. A China/US shooting conflict would be very dangerous. That is why during the Cold War the US and USSR almost always kept their major forces separated so some hot head did not do something foolish. Remember a Soviet sub commander almost launched nuclear torpedoes during the Cuban crisis, only a clear headed second officer prevented him from doing so. As JFK said there is always some SOB who does not get the message. These two great peoples have much better things to do that go war.

Today is not ww2, massive landing operation will be found by satellite several months before. Normandie will not exist today because most landing ships will be destroyed at the sea not at the beach. Indeed China can bombard Taiwan before US army arrived but they can never send any troops on the island to capture the cities. Territories need infantry to occupy not bombs.
