Yeah, it's not always the same people writing even if it's technically the same people but after years of doing being told to deliver sht. I choose to view characters in their best light bc more often than not a normal guy is made into a monster for a quick joke so a board of producers can feel confident they'll make a buck, and that is simply not how that character was meant to be. I do think Moe is still creepy, mostly in that "has never been liked and is ugly so even though they are weird their normal behavior is seen as creepy" type of thing. If it was a handsome, rich guy the Simpsons would've opened their doors and even gone to live in his mansion so he could raise Maggie, but it's a working(America calls wc middle but the Simpsons are two broken cars away from completely broke let's be honest) class, ugly guy so he's creepy and must have evil intentions.
