I think she had too heavy proficiency items for me wear her stuff while I waited. I was forgoing clothes anyway and I forgot I put my panties in Astarion's inventory as a goof. So I was just standing there awkwardly holding her stuff butt naked in the middle of a freezing temple. She still gave me attitude the whole way through despite having high approval. So yeah, Last light was wiped off the map because my patience was none existent then. I didn't know that would happen but I went with it and played evil the rest of the way. Very interesting, I just did this as Shadowheart Origin (in my opinion, without her beliefs challenged by a custom Tav, Shadowheart is too entrenched in Shar's cult to fight her way out herself - the other companions never really bring it up or try to talk sense into you), and the companions did not express these opinions to me as the main character. I really expected Karlach, Wyll, and Halsin to have something to say about it, but nothing. I guess they didn't want you to feel too badly about your choice if you're not just a companion?
@beansandvibes3 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience! It's definitely intriguing how different choices and character backgrounds can lead to varied interactions in the game. I agree, playing as Shadowheart Origin adds a unique perspective, and it would have been interesting to see more of the companions challenging her beliefs. It seems like the game developers wanted to give players freedom in their role-playing without too much pressure from the companions. Did you find that the companions' silence felt particularly impactful or just missed opportunities for deeper dialogue?
@Turantula3 күн бұрын
@beansandvibes it felt like missed opportunity. The only companion who said anything about my Shar worship was Astarion, when Shadowhearr first told him. And all he said was he didn't care. And once you decide to tell anyone the whole camp knows (which I disagreed with - she shared a secret with her romantic partner, not intending it to be common knowledge, but in hindsight perhaps that was too much intricacy to hope for). But after that, nothing. And barely even any Disapproval when I would choose [CLERIC OF SHAR] or [EVIL CLERIC] dialogue options. My standing with them was quite high by that time. So I interpreted that as Shadowheart believing they would support her decision to fulfill her destiny. But then even afterwards, they just keep trucking along. I think only one of them even Disapproved of the act of using the Spear of Night (and it wasn't a big drop). So, yeah, it really felt like the companions had no challenge to her devotion to Shar as an Origin Story run.

Evil or not, but letting "Nightsong" go is not all that sweet and cosy as some claim it to be. This being - very powerful, mind you - is clearly mentally unstable. I don't think the point of the game is to be neutral; this is a fantasy world where being nice to everyone does not pay off, it gets you killed.
