Regarding the water pump equipment. What is the symptom? On top of the blue pump you have a pressure sensor. Low water pressure switches pump on and then when pressure rises switch kicks off and turns pump off. Those pressure switches are adjustable and need adjusting over time. Search online for the one you have for instructions. The red vessel underneath the pump has a rubber diaphragm in it. On the right side of that vessel there will be a pressure valve. You'll need about 25psi in there to keep the diaphragm pressing against the water.

It’s cold, polluted and wet here in Manchester. You’re not missing anything besides a flushing toilet and shower. You can always just throw the bucket of water down the main toilet hole for when you have a pee. Still works.

Hi Alan, I'm sure a man of your mechanical ability can sort out the water feed. Re: The shower under the guttering, I do watch a guy from over there whose channel is called 'LarryPHWalking'. In his videos you do see the torrential downpours with thunder and lightning and kids and grown ups alike are out with their shampoo and enjoying a good shower. I have often thought that the water must be fairly warm and you just confirmed it for me. Cheers, Norm in England (feeling a little jealous of your new life) 😁😊

the pump under tank on stand looks to be able to supply water to fill tank which then will give you water supply when like a backup supply when pump below isnt working there should a set of valves to switch from pump only supply or switch over to gravity supply from tank on stand to house as long as it is full, the tank under pump is a chamber so when the pump is working the tank under pump drains down pressure then pump should kick in.if pump is not pumping you may have to check the non-return pickup in water in well if broken or blocked it wont hold lift to the pump and not pump water to run house or fill over head tank the pressure of over head tank should be about 30psi cheers lee

We have the same rain water tank here in Portugal it's called a cisterns here your switching problem will probably be pressure related our pump had a diaphragm which had to have a certain pressure but often leaked which gave you either pump not switching of or not running.

You could sort out your water harvesting from the roof with a bit more panache....lol. I lived in Brunei and you soon adapt to the local methods and ways. When I had a property in Turkey I had a hand pump that all it required to prime the electric pump was a few strokes on the handle to pull the water from the artesian well below.

Always have a drum and buckets to catch the water thru the roof panels gutter 😊😅😮❤❤❤ great for flushing the toilet, washing the floors, etc. Be safe and stay drive. I see that you have a stout umbrella. I bet they do not have the flimsy rubbish ones we get nowadays. Until I was seven I lived in a house that had no running water. We used wells and a manual pump. No bottles water either in 1947. Still , I have survived so far but certainly have all mod cons now. Good to see the area and I am sure we'll learn a lot.

Basically since your in a rural area of Mindinao, water being off grid is normal. But believe me mate most places in the philippines have mains water on a meter. You'll save more money via rain water cos water rates there isn't cheap. But to be in safe side, I'd put some sort of water cleanser tablets in the water storage. You should build a resistance(health) by time with everything there.

I remember the 1st time i visited my thai g/fs fathers house, shock isn't the word, more like horrified is better suited, roughing it springs to mind, i asked myself , "could i live here" and basically the answer was no, its a big property with zero creature comforts, thankfully my g/f has been "westernised" since meeting me in 2009, she's built (or i should say her sons built) a beuitifull 2 storey 3 bedroom traditional thai home, upstairs big full length balcony and stainless thai style railings all around the upstairs and downstairs , plus a mix of double glazed and wooden windows, upstairs and downstairs showers and toilets, tiled marble look flooring in kitchen/living /dining rooms, oak wood staircase and landing area, all enclosed roof lighting and roof fans plus decorative chandeliers , 2 aircon units 1 up/1 down, two 55" hdtv's with wi-fi in house, basically all your mod cons inc cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine etc, but no great creature comforts such as settee (yet) ! or comfy chairs and still stuck with the "thai style" rock hard mattress, its as if they dont want comforts, running water is stored in 45 gall plastic containers in both showers/toilets and a couple outside to gather water for flower watering, the village water is switched off most nights at 9 pm untill 6am, electric is pretty good untill a thunderstorm hits then its lights out for a few hours, i asked myself again "could i live here" and the answer is,. Dam right i could, back in uk now after 222 days (7months) in thailand and i'm asking myself the same question again, can i live here in uk, and the answers no, ive been priced out of uk and it shambles of a government and its free for all open borders, the weathers pants and as a nearly 70 y/o its time to move on, thailand for me on retirement o visa, ive got 2 cars in thailand and 1 in uk, so i'm basically ready to jump soon,.....

Interesting video Alan! We have bore holes here in rural Devon, the water goes through a treatment plant which kills any bugs etc and it tastes lovely, there’s no limescale either. Also, the water doesn’t really cost anything. What do you do about sewage there? We have a cess pit which a lorry comes out to empty it about every 9 months.

its usually the pressure switch that gives trouble when the pump won't automatically switch on if take the switch off you will see a little port/hole which leads to a diaphragm they get blocked from time to time its an easy fix, i have the same make of pump also at the end of the pressure vessel there is a schrader valve which you pump air into the pressure should about 2 bar.

Why is infrastructure soo bad over there dont the local council have a water management system in place
@JazzFunkNobby19644 ай бұрын
I don't know anything about wells and water tanks, etc but surely the pump is to get the water up into that tank on top of the tower and not to pump water into the house as you said. Gravity will let water flow to the house from the raised tank. No need for a pump to do that. It's why we used to have water tanks in the lofts of our UK homes.
@jesusisking85024 ай бұрын
That's what I was thinking. Our setup is better, we have our 3 tanks set high on the hill from the house, they are being fed by the shed roofing when it rains. Even if the pump/electricity goes out we still get enough pressure from the gravity to do most things, though showers are a bit of a strong trickle and take longer. Our dam water tank is 3000 gallons, open top concrete type and is pure gravity but we use a pump to fill it first. I installed 18mm hose fittings and that increases our gravity fed pressure by about 15%, maybe a bit more and watering the garden with our dam is not that far behind a mains water or pump system.
@JazzFunkNobby19644 ай бұрын
Sounds good man. Can you not increase the diameter of the hose from tank to shower so you get more water pressure?@@jesusisking8502

not much evidence of paradise, its a backwards step, early days though I wonder if the lack of Normality that you've been accustomed to with get you, looks like everything is a struggle, also, it's okay while you are healthy, but what happens if you get sick out there, me and my Mrs who is also a Filipina were due to fly out for a holiday in San Marcelino which is in Zambales Philippines, but I ended up in hospital for two weeks with a perforated bowel which caused sepsis and peritonitis. God knows what would've happened. If I'd of got on the plane and it happened in the Philippines. I probably wouldn't be here now. It's a very big consideration to go and live somewhere. That has no reliable emergency services. We do have some land that we did plan to build on, but definitely having second thoughts now I've ended up with a stoma bag
