I had a real donut of a session running live yakkas under a balloon at Gymea Bay Baths yesterday. The group next to me scored an 87cm kingie on a yakka strip, and everyone else was smashing the Bonnies. I think this is the real back end of kingfish season now

Have you ever tried the Clifton garden rock, it’s quite a good spot for bonito/Mack’s/frigate mackerel during the season and many more. My curse is when I’m at the rocks the fish bust up near the wharf. Lol.

Even a light scratch is considered serious damage on a reel like that Anthony but considering what went on and with the wet ground, it was minimal. Yep, if it went in, I would have to retrieve it if I couldn't hook it back.

Yes, a decent combo for light shore jigging style work, not mechnical jigging over reefs unless it's micro jigging

Some medium scratches Hugo but mostly the pain was due to seeing the reel get dragged along the ground. Lucky it was wet which minimised the severity of it!
