I'd find it so funny if the game took Arachne's origin; A Roman story and not actual Greek myth and played with it. That she somehow still exists in Greece mythos despite the case, and when Athena is asked why she was so petty towards Arachne, she just goes: "Who?"

There are versions of arachne just suiciding by the shame of being so arrogant. And Athena who takes pity on her revives her as a spider to do the one thing she loved. So there is a chance that Athena isn't collosal duchebag in this game.

The comment from Hecate about Arachne and Athena needing to settle things between themselves on their own makes me hope she'll be added later in development (maybe alongside her brothers Ares and Dionysus?). Maybe they could be added after you beat Chronos once like how Demeter one shows up after beating Hades the first time.

The goddess Athena created the art of weaving, but the mortal Arachne out-did her, her works rivaling the beauty of the gods themselves. She beat Athena in a competition for who could make the most dazzling tapestry, so (with all the grace of a god) Athena beat her senseless and drove her to hanging. She was reborn as a spider, still able to weave, but unable to reach her former heights.

@@scruffmutt depending on the story. Pretty sure Greek religion didn’t believe in rebirth and as such Athena transformed her directly. There’s also another story where Arachne’s sin was being egotistical. Athena had no problem of her being better until Arachne bragged about it. As such, Athena turned her into a spider for her insolence.

@@TheTsugnawmi2010 That's only in Ovid's versions, a Roman who had a problem with autority and despised Olympian Gods (they preferred their Roman gods). In most cases, Medusa was born a gorgon. Also there's a version where Arachne was punished because of incest.

@@katgames101 There's many different versions of how the competition went. Some of them (mostly attributed to Ovid) had Arachne win. Most others had her lose and be a brat about it. Older versions had it that Athena turning her into a spider had nothing to do with the outcome of the competition, but rather the "content" of the tapestry that Arachne made for it.

In this case they didn't hire genius writer, but the writer literally founded a studio together with his friends and have made bangers since then. I think the vast majority of the game is written by Greg Kasavin, one of the co-founders of the studio.

@@ashbha4138 The genius writing is the characterization of greek gods in relation to thier myths. If your know the myths you will understand the converstations more. Also pretty sure this is not a kids game, considering it deals with adult topics. At least 13 +. idk though
