Hey I have some questions. One:isnt camper shane a beginner trainer? Bc wouldn't you have to delete your data to battle a already battled trainer again? You could’ve done so many more things; 1. What happens when you try to revive them 2. What happens when you use a rare candy on them, you CAN use rare candy on fainted Pokemon 3. What happens when you try to heal them while having other actual legit Pokemon 4. What happens when you try to edit a gift Pokemon into one of these Pokemon 5. What happens if you edit one of the Pokemon from the poke go park area, will the other generation pick up or ones that’re in Pokemon go already pick up 6. Can you teach them tms 7. Hey, thanks for mentioning me in the video! If I were to take a guess, that Marowak was supposed to be the ghost Marowak that you fight in the Pokemon Tower. The fact that it doesn’t have an animation makes me think they intended having an actual battle like the old games, but removed it in exchange for the cutscene. Because that specific model doesn’t have anything that it’s attached to, maybe the game defaults that model to any Pokemon with a dex number over 153? Anyways, great video!

I think it isn’t because the game never called for it. The sprite can likely be found in pvp battles, and is a 3D model that is also used for the trainer themself, anyway. Probably just for the dead reference.

Their data is not in the game. The game is most likely reading the hacked data and trying to produce everything it is able to. In this case, it can replicate the name and typing, but not the stats or model. So the "mudkip" marowak will just be a marowak with hacked water typing.

Even if that is so, there has to be some data in there or the game would not reconized what type the Pokemon is suppose to be. For it to know that mudkip is a water type means data for mudkip must be in the games file, but its just not complete data and thus the game can only recognize the Name and Type but nothing beyond that.

@@LordDiscord He said himself that the programme he used has all the names and stats for every pokemon. So when he replaced the pokemon with a Mudkip the stats and name were simply replaced by the programme and the game read them. There 100% is no details in the game for any other pokemon.

If it was randomized, then that would mean that the mudkip could come out as a marowak with a fairy typing. i Mean how would the game know what to assign the named pokemon, if their was no data at all for it. Also given how Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee was built off the sun and moon engine, it would make sense that their would be some residual data from other pokemon past 153.

As a programmer, my guess would be: they added the alolans and maybe the new legendary first, so internal id for marowak wouldn't be 105 but 128, maybe that's the default value for sprites (it's normal to use powers of 2, so 128 or 256 wouldn't be strange).

As for moves they probably don't check that the moves corresponding to the ids exist (since it wouldn't normally be necesary), so the game just tries to read values like names from the id, but it doesn't exist, so it just ends up being blank.

Hey this was a really cool video! I'm not really into LGPE because I'm too poor to get a switch and one of the games but these were really cool. It's fun to see how the programming was performed in these games. It sucks that there's no place holder interactions when taking the hacked Pokemon to the Pokemon center, that would have been neat to see. But it's neat that names and type effectiveness is retained when going against trainers. And why are there egg sprites? There's no breeding in these games. But awesome video regardless!

I'm pretty sure the reason for this is that all the typing already exists in the game. If they didn't (like If fairy, or steel type wasn't in the game) then the game would probably like... It doesn’t keep the stats. When you used dragon rage on the Dialga, if it had Dialga’s stats, it would have survived with 40 HP, which is 40% of Dialga’s HP at level 11, and struggle takes out 25%. Marowak at level 11 would have been killed though.( Dragon rage always does 40 HP, and there isn’t a nature that reduces HP)

The game calls the stats and names on the trainer pokemon because you put them in there using the hack thing. You put Mudkip and the hack has the deets for Mudkip and just replaces the in-game stats. The game doesn't have any details or even the name Mudkip, you put them there and the game just read them. And since it read the type as water, fire moves were not very effective.

Try feeding the eggs rare candy or healthy candy to give them hp then use a revive to heal it (since Pokémon center breaks it) then go into a battle not sure if this would work but it could

What about items from other gens? You can also try abilities, (on yourself, on trainers and wild pokemons) maybe you can do that with Pokémon already existing in the first gen, as there are already abilities in this game. You can also try hacking eggs from New Pokémon and gen 1 Pokémon to see what happens. You should also try messing around with melmetal, as that is the newest Pokémon. Wall hacks would be pretty interesring too, and things like catching trainers Pokémon. I guess hacking some items like the S.S. ticket and the badges would be interesting aswell(I know this is a long list)

Actually I think its Marowak because all pokemon have an integer value, the level is also associated, since you battled a level 11 pokemon + not in game pokemon -(value of first pokemon in the pokedex aka bulbasaurs ID Value it adds up to the same ID Value as Marowak

So, maybe they just ported the original firered, or copy/pasted it and didn't bother to look through every single pokemon trainer's text, or... it's intentional, which makes no real sense to me? Because when you think about "feat" as in "feet" it makes much more sense to me since you could definitely see someone's feet through grass, but who would ever say "Yeah i saw your accomplishments and strengths through grass"?

The sad thing is i wouldnt be suprised, despite this being purely a test and having nothing to do with competative, i used to think his video were decent tips, but hes just so fucking toxic and easily triggered that i had to stop watching him entirely. Maybe some of his tip videos would still be watchable if he could make a single video without trash talking everyone else and kept his massive ego in check for a few minute but he cant even do that, its like hes trying to be a toxic piece of shit.

In games after gen 1, unrecognizable or glitched Pokemon would show up as a "bad egg". They could actually have pretty interesting or bad effects like being unreleasable and changing every other Pokemon in the second box int more bad eggs, or even corrupting your saying e completely.

@@KhenWolf you both bring up really good points (: i do recall getting bad eggs in gen 3 when i had a gameshark, but i wonder why they migrated it into the new system, unless they used a good portion of what their previous games were. at this point, i think it would be possible that they wanted to continue that from the ds games? instead of creating an entire new asset or model for corrupted data. makes sense!! Well, an egg isn't exactly tough to model, so it wouldn't surprise me if they had the egg as a placeholder. Probably was just there for debug purposes. This way, if it showed up in development, they knew for a fact the issue was they assigned an invalid Pokemon somewhere.
