WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PRAY TAHAJJUD EVERYDAY?

I reverted almost 10 months ago. I began praying Tahajjud Jan 1st and have done it every night, inshallah. My brothers and sisters, I have no words for the connection it has brought me with Allah SWT each night. Please, for your sake and for Allah SWT, consider waking tonight for the Tahajjud. I must say this. I did an interview very bad in the final round yesterday i had no hope. I suddenly woke up at 3:50 am and cried for forgiveness and asked him to help me out. Believe me, we all desperately need tahajjud, particularly, because it is the perfect time to ask Allah swt for forgiveness (and whatever else we desire). "Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Shall I inform you of what is better than ˹all of˺ this? Those mindful ˹of Allah˺ will have Gardens with their Lord under which rivers flow, to stay there forever, and pure spouses, along with Allah’s pleasure.” And Allah is All-Seeing of ˹His˺ servants, who pray, “Our Lord! We have believed, so forgive our sins and protect us from the torment of the Fire.” ˹It is they˺ who are patient, sincere, obedient, and charitable, and who pray for forgiveness before dawn." (3:15-3:17) "...Whatever good you send forth for yourselves, you will find it with Allah far better and more rewarding. And seek Allah’s forgiveness. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (73:20) "So be patient with your Lord’s decree, and do not yield to any evildoer or ˹staunch˺ disbeliever from among them. ˹Always˺ remember the Name of your Lord morning and evening, and prostrate before Him during part of the night, and glorify Him long at night." (76:24-26) Be patient because Allah swt is with the believers - every dua is recorded with Him and He will answer as and when He wills, in whatever manner He wills. Truly, this is why He will reward those who are patient and don't complain without account. Imagine that. He loves the patient. Don't lose hope because Allah swt promises, "Do you think you will be admitted into Paradise without being tested like those before you? They were afflicted with suffering and adversity and were so ˹violently˺ shaken that ˹even˺ the Messenger and the believers with him cried out, “When will Allah’s help come?” Indeed, Allah’s help is ˹always˺ near." (2:214) Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (may Allah bless him tremendously and give him peace) said to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), “O Abd Allah! Do not be like so-and-so. He used to pray at night and then left it.” [Bukhari and Muslim]

I started praying tuhajjud recently, now every single day I can’t wait until it’s time for tuhajjud. I feel when I pray tuhajjud that Allah is near and is listening to me and I know Allah will accept my Duas. I can’t believe I was misguided for so long, I used to miss fajr every single night and not I can’t even bare the thought of missing tuhajjud. The sweetness of tuhajjud is something I can’t explain. If it is any helpful at all, I would share my experiences of getting into the habit of Tahazzud. 35 years ago when I married, I started doing Tahazzud which, was due to my honourable Shaykh’s teachings. As I was in a full time school teaching job in London, it was difficult to maintain regularity but I decided to start with little steps of performing Tahazzud Thursday, Friday and Saturday almost every week(initially at least twice a week). Over a couple of months, this practice almost became a habit and I would feel terrible if on any day I had missed my Tahazzud. At around 2001, I changed job and took up an even more stressful management job but my determination for continuing Tahazzud actually was hardened. During holidays, I would do Tahazzud on a daily basis. As I was nearing retirement age around 2020, I increased my Tahazzud prayers about four times a week as I felt an unexplainable bliss and self-satisfaction as time passed on. Alhamdulillah, now it has become a habit which, I am glad to say, cannot be replaced with anything else.

The thing about consistently offering Tahajjud for Allah Azawajal is that: no doubt Allah swt increases for this, Alhamdulillahi Rabbul Aalameen. But after you pray it consecutively, then you miss 1 night out of like a 2 week streak; you feel like you have committed a major sin. That is the thing about praying Tahajjud consistently. I revert during Ramadhan 2023. I knew a guy that came to my life. Like a sunshine, his positivity shines my life to try become better Muslim. I was a poor muslim. Sometime intentionally left salah. Su!cidal toughts, messy life and broken family. A man came to my life, become a close friend. Started to ask me to pray at masjeed, together go to salah. One day, I decided to recatch up my dream which is trying to learn and read quran with accurate tajweed, I asked and share my drean to him. He prayed for me and during ramadhan, I forced to do Tahajjud. I didnt believe that people around me turn out to be someone that make me closer to Allah SWT. However, the man that make me closer to Allah SWT turn out to pursue his journey without me, so I tried to learn that I want to do something for Allah SWT, not because of him. Its hurtful but I knew he is the component that lead me back to this Hijr. Maybe Allah SWT missing me a lot all this time that I didnt know the way to back to Him. So he meet me with that man and when the man's job is done, ALLAH SWT takes him. So that I recenter my niat only to serve Allah SWT.

I finally woke up again for the Syawal fasting meal today and this post appeared on my feed. All our ibadah will be accepted only if we say our farz prayers, and strive to obey our dear prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam, in his way of life, which was according to the Qur'an. I prayed tahajjud before some months a stop praying because I am in love and give my all time to him... But I realized I did wrong and now I again start offering tahajjud.. I feel that Allah is one who loves us unconditionally... So love Allah more then human beings. You cried even you died in front of human beings but they refuse you in a Second they only want to do the things on their on Choice and their lust only. But Allah is the one who love us unconditionally. Who always told us have faith on me cry in front of me, share your grief, your problems, your desire if it's halal I will give you and Allah gives it's my experience. So Allah forgive me and make me so close to you that only I want because I know if you become razi from my desire no one is there who refuse it after your blessing. ❤
