Oh my goodness! Danni when you picked up that pottery bowl that had a piece of paper inside it said from Hunter River and then you turned it over it was carved PEI, I have been there with my sisters who live on the Island. I cannot believe it really, they must have been on the Island for a vacation. Danni this is so weird I just started watching you and found out your Polish and seeing that piece of pottery gives me a good vibe. Most all my family live on the Island. I will contine to watch you. I apprenticed with an artist Lou Maestas -- a few years ago, he told me to not bother with print runs over 400-500 - if you go into the thousands, the print is only worth the paper it is printed on! lol ~ He only did oil paintings, I have one he did of a Navajo girl, my friend Lou did very well in his life. Owned an art school, taught classes, he also lived in various places in the SW. His art has often sold in the tens of thousands!

My 90 year old mother kept her shoes in her shoe box I think it was a depression thing. She also never went without her shoes because she grew up poor and she didn’t wear shoes in the summer. She is not here today she passed 7 years ago. Hi Noah I know you will read this did you ever get your drivers license? You guys are a great help to your mom and very lucky to work for her.

I was curious too: Commerce means not for commerce, or not for sale. Hors D' Commerce prints tend to be given by the artist as gifts and are very rare. Hors D' Commerce are normally marked HC or H/C.

The one pottery piece you looked at in the first estate sale that read on the bottom .. Jess … PEI I imagine the piece came from Atlantic Canada .. PEI stands for Prince Edward Island ..

You are correct. Hunter River is a great place with lots of artisan studios. My hubby is from PEI and we’ve been to Hunter River.

Next to Mrytle the turtle was a little shrimp boat. Cocktail sauce goes in one side and shrimp in the other side for shrimp cocktail. I have one and would like to find a couple more of them. They are a fun way to serve shrimp.

The 'glitter' is a chemical reaction of the glazes during the firing and usually caused by trace metals within the glazes. Cadmium in a red glaze can bring out bright gold yet can turn a green glaze that contains copper almost black That's the intriguing aspect of ceramics!😊

That PEI @ 9:40 is Prince Edward Island where the novel Anne of Green Gables took place. It’s the smallest province of Canada and on the eastern seaboard.

That’s exactly what it is was. It has two sides so you can flip it over. I had one as a kid!

Yes I had friends who had their mother's scrolling top chalkboard. Hers was from the 1930s when she grew up. You scroll the top and the pictures change, not unlike a roller shade - the whole unit stands & it opens up like an artist's easel.

I use old suitcases as a nightstand and I put a doily over the top one with an antique lamp ( that works )on top of it .

HC stands for hors d'commerce, a French phrase that means "not for commerce" or "not for sale". HC prints are a special type of print that are usually given as gifts by the artist. They are very rare and are considered to be the most valuable of all special prints. The lower the first number is what is most important no matter how many were printed. The quality will be better as it is the first part of the print run. The total number made speaks to how popular the artist is. If they expect many will want the piece they print a lot but if they are just a local artist the print run will be smaller. It's more about the ratio of the print you have to the total print run. 1-50 is much more desirable in a run of 1000 vs a run of 100 as an example. But even though the HC piece was higher in the run it was given as a gift giving it more value.

Your right 900 something is a lot but what you missed was the first number was 60!! That’s is great for a print. With 900 less then 100 is ok less then 75 excellent
