No, you're way off. Watch the all 22 on Jones his first year and compare to this year. Jones wasn't playing scared and seeing ghosts in year 1, abandoning the pocket even when there's no pass rush and making desperation throws when he isn't in desperate situations.

Hunter Henry is a top 5 TE. Schuster is a number 1 on many teams around the league. Mac Jones WAS having pro bowl seasons with this same group. So its not the people around him. It's either he got stuck in the quagmire that is rotating OCs and playbooks. Or as warner says, he's lost his focus. I would believe warner. Confusion about the new scheme doesn't make you throw to a guy's back shoulder when the ball should be in front. Or make you float a pass over his helmet that should be at his mid section. The knock on Mac Jones coming out of school was "yeah he's smart and accurate, but he can't throw more than 20 yards." Now he's regressed to where we can't even talk about his arm strength because he can't make any throw

At 19:13, the receiver should have caught this ball. The old saying in football, if you touch the ball you need to catch the ball. I think at this point, the blame should not be on all Mac Jones shoulders.

@Dude-etiquette11 ай бұрын
Why don’t you provide comments on all the other examples?
@DMoney041311 ай бұрын
There are exceptions to that old saying, jumping/diving. If you actually watch the play the ball is overthrown and the receiver has to jump to even make contact. So the blame is still on Mac.
@stpaulisland11 ай бұрын
@@DMoney0413So receivers are not to jump up to catch the football? They are to only catch the football when running flat footed? Yup we’re winning with Zappe I see.
@DMoney041311 ай бұрын
@@stpaulisland that saying is for when a receiver is in motion with feet on the ground. There's significantly more control involved, if a receiver is jumping on a normal route it's because the ball is either intentionally thrown a bit higher or because the ball is overthrown, same goes for diving. In those situations there's very little control the receiver has to make adjustments. The fact you even questioned my comment shows your lack of knowledge of that saying.

I have never played football in my life, but I have played a lot of Madden, and I watch a lot of NFL all 22 tape. This is just bad football. On numerous occasions, you see before the ball is snapped, there are favorable numbers based on the way the defense is aligned and dude keeps going to were he has a disadvantage. Also, I am guessing Mac doesn't have the ability to change the his receiver's routes. On the last play, seeing how the Defense was aligned, I would have had my RB stay in to block, and the most inside receiver/TE, I would have him run a quick out while the other 2 ousite receivers take the DBs covering them deep. Because of the way the LB is aligned off covering, the Receiver/TE gets open fast, and wouldn't have someone to tackle him for at least 10 yards. I don't know if it's ego on the coaching side, where they say, just run what I call, but just from the plays Kurt highlighted, these could have been big plays if you read the D properly before each snap. With all the off coverage the Giants were playing, I could easily read them. Bad on Mac, and bad on the OC.
@koodigocrxzy46511 ай бұрын
The concept you just mentioned not only would be taken away by cover 3 with the strongside safety curl taking the clear and the weakside safety taking the post, but you would also have a runnibsck possibly on a 1v1 pass pro rep with only 4 rushers. There aren’t calls against presnap looks that work every time so it’s schematically disingenuous to retroactively say a different concept would have worked against s presnap pic that can roll into any thing except man unless the trust their SS with their slot

@@JB-sv5pr Well because if you knew football then you'd know that the worst thing for a young QB is to give him a different offense every year. You'd also know that to learn from a bunch of different coaches can be devastating on the mental aspect of football. Then on top of that he's learning from not 1 but 2 different coaches and neither no what the hell they're doing as they're DCs not OCs. You'd also know that when you're OL is bad it also has an effect on how you play as a QB. All of those things can create terrible habits and those are the hardest to get rid of. On top of all that he has absolutely no receivers to throw to, I mean I could get guys off the street to play better than what he's got.
