She is very gaunt and you can see how deflated her mammary glands are in comparison to the higher ranking mothers. She can barely forage for enough food to keep herself alive let alone the string of babies she has year after year. Kailey is clean and well groomed and she is being looked after by a series of babysitters and/or aunts. She may not get to nurse at will as long as higher ranking babies but her mother has successfully raised each of her babies to adulthood and they are a generally close knit, well behaved bunch.

Yea, I stared watching his videos because I like watching baby monkeys play. But once you get to know a particular baby monkey it's hard to watch him or her be upset or neglected. Gypsy's maternal instinct seems to cover basic survival and not much in the way of care, compassion and tenderness. Some of these mothers are capable of an amazing amount of love and compassion for their babies. Reddy is pretty much my idea of the picture perfect monkey mom. She's very loving and tender and patient but has her limit. Her limit usually just means a nip. I don't think I've ever seen her be unnecessarily harsh to her young. I find it hard to not attach human qualities to them. They're animals and wild ones at that. They don't see things the way we do. That doesn't make it easy when I see Gypsy seem so unloving to her baby girl, especially when we see examples like Reddy who seems very loving. Gypsy being so low ranking has a lot to do with how she is towards her young but we see other low ranking mothers be far kinder so it starts to get murky when I see Tina steal food from her baby's mouth who's already nearly starving to death. I want to reach through the screen and slap her one when I see that.

It seems like the times Gypsy is an attentive mother correspond with her looking healthy. I’ve always thought there’s much more to it than just being a mean mom. There’s so much we don’t understand about what they experience. Also, note that the two “meanest” moms that everyone loves to hate on, Gypsy and Tina, are both at the bottom of the barrel rank-wise. They probably don’t have the luxury of being super indulgent mothers when their survival and health are always on the line.

Kailey is such a precious emaciated waif. She always has a sad expression, and the hollowed look of near starvation on her sweet little face. It is hard to imagine that She will grow up healthy and well adjusted emotionally without having more nourishment and affection from Mom. I have to say that Gypsy doesn’t look altogether healthy either. She looks like she needs a lot more nourishment too. Doubly sad situation. My opinion: I truly believe Gypsy should either be sterilized, or have her tail duck taped down over her back end so she can’t make more babies and then abuse them through neglect.

Whether Kailey's mom is just too old to be having babies or if she is sick, she shouldn't be biting the baby and treating it badly. Kailey deserves better. When the moms are mean and won't let the babies in close...then with the baby further away...there's more of a chance for the baby to be stolen. I saw a video of just that...the mom was mean to the baby...wouldn't let her nurse or even close...the mom beat the crap out of the baby and it wondered away, not that mom cared. Then a guy coaxed it with food and put it in his camera bag and left.

I wonder why I have very rarely seen a baby nurse from an auntie or other females, other than mom! Even in extreme circumstances, or using as a dummy, babies will almost never suckle another female! Many females are willing, but not the babies!?

I've wondered that myself. Why is it that an aunt or babysitter typically won't nurse the babies? Gypsy seems to stop nursing once she feels teeth on her nipples. The baby isn't usually old enough to survive on their own at that age. It seems like some females can lactate even though they don't have a baby. There's that one disabled old female that takes care of orphans and the neglected who's probably too old to reproduce. Yet she's lactating and feeding a baby. Why wouldn't other mothers step up to help out a little? Clearly they could. And why don't some of the sterilized females who are so absolutely desperate to mother a baby they're willing to steal one even though they have no way to feed them lactate? I get that they will mostly only start lactating if they are with child but I'm not sure if I've ever seen a fixed female lactating even though they're maternal instinct in very strong. They seem to loose the ability to lactate with the ability to breed but they don't loose the desire to care for a baby.

I really appreciate tge narrative you provide to us viewers. The script words I like too. Cute and interesting. It opens me up to know abd understand these beautiful primates. I use to be a fan of chimanzees back in the days during Michael Jackson's pet Bubbles. But I stumbled upon this breed by being introduced to baby monkey Abu who has his own youtube channel with his human mom and human brother. The mom is a seamstress sewing many cute pant, shirts, and shorts to match and even cute little hats for Abu. Sometimes its a mom and Abu match set wear. The mom works very hard in laboring acres of her dad's rice field, vegetables and fruits. She even simetimes you will see her and Abunon the motor scooter geading out to work. Abu is the most self behaved primate baby monkey I have ever seen. Check her channel out guys😊 The single mom always makes time for her boys she states. Awww. I look forward to your videos as well.
