No different from a human tjat is forced to have babies when they don't want them. Thry get worse mot better. These animals don't jave a choice whether tjey jave nabirs. Their bodies force them to go into estrus and mate. This continues until ompregnanted. Lokena woman 300 uears ago forced into marriage and to service her husband when ever He chose and continuento jave babies they don't want until they die of exhaustion. Some wkmen are meant to be mothers and some aren't. The same with monkeys. The difference is that most Western woman can decide when and how many children they have or if they want any at all. These animals will never have that choice. I feel sorry for her and the babies. The only thing she could so is kill the babies at birth. At least she doesn't do that and she feeds them.

Now this video broke my heart watching his very hungry baby hobble around with a hurt hand and watch her mother eat while she is pushed away. Gypsy looks like she got a buzz cut. The mental mother's like her and Tina have such anxiety with the grooming and plucking their little ones obsessively. Horrible coping methods when these mother's are anxious and hungry.

Animals are amazing. Back a few tears ago (before Angkor wat became infested with greedy VO's) I saw a video where a higher rank female kidnapped an infant and adopted him. She even nursed the baby. The real mom couldn't get a chance to grab her baby for a long time When she was finally able to get close them, the infant looked at her than to his kidnapper/adopted mother as if asking "who's she mom?"

Faith Moore I totally agree, Faith. I was just thinking, in terms of *females who WANT babies* versus *females who DON'T seem to want babies.* It’s just heartbreaking to me to see Sally fawning all over Kailey. If Arroz' assumptions are correct, it might mean that Sally lost her own baby, which is heartbreaking in and of itself. But then there’s the other sad situation of Gypsy seemingly not interested in her own baby, and I just thought... Gosh, if Sally could "adopt" Kailey, she’d be so happy, and feel complete again. While at the same time, it doesn’t seem to me that Gypsy would care either way - if she had her baby or not. I mean... historically, we’ve seen that in real time. Gypsy just has such a different way of approaching motherhood (like a Arroz said, pragmatically), which I can respect, but at the same time, poor lil Kailey NEEDS a loving & caring mother, who is actually IN her life. -Not just a small passing part of it. The whole situation is awful and distressing, and I probably put too much human expectations on these creatures... But that’s just because I love them so much. By the way, thanks for the feedback. Poor little Kailey gets knocked ass over tin cups for trying to smell the food. For God's sake, Gypsy, your baby is starving! It's only a guess as Gypsy usually disciplines her babies by biting on to them, usually their fingers. There are nothing else that I could think of that Kailey could have injured her fingers, and only two so specifically.

I think a lot of those wounds on the Monkees come from the sharp edges on the fence. Where the loops are cut in half. They're sharp as a knife and will slice you write open.

@@faithmoore3243 Gypsy always goes for the fingers/hands or feet. She will grab them and bite the fingers because that's what they are using to touch her. There is video of her doing this not only to Kailey but to her boys as well. It's most definitely from Gypsy biting her and is also why Gypsy's older daughters and Rudy try to keep Kailey away from Gypsy so she doesn't get bitten some more. This has been the normal for Gypsy for years.

Neither did I, it was a guess as Gypsy has always been biting her kids on their fingers starting with Knotty, Knitty and less so with Kneely. and I can't see how lil Kailey could have such nearly circular cuts just on two fingers only. These babies are the size of kitten only and there is nothing I could think of in the forest that could do that.

I doubt very seriously that she was bitten. If you really look at it the cut goes across both fingers in a straight and continuous cut. A bite would be more jagged and not as clean and straight. It honestly looks like those 2 fingers were caught in a wire trap

Andrea Garvin Little Kailey doesn’t have enough teeth and they are not strong enough to chew a sweet potato. Also, babies cannot eat before the adults eat. We humans would give to our babies first but that’s not the monkey way. It doesn’t make sense to us but it has worked for them for centuries. Gypsy needs the food to make milk for Kailey. I also think something is not quite right physically with her too. And she is at the very bottom of the hierarchy and must wait until everyone eats before she does. There’s a video of Arroz feeding them a big bonanza a few years back and I watched Gypsy sitting up on the fence watching everyone else before she get down and eat herself. And that day, she even watched her kids eat before she climbed down from that railing. Arroz would even throw some soya beans or bits of sweet potato her way and she watched as others ran after it. It was sad to watch.

If you know anything about monkey feeding hierarchy you would know that if you tried to feed that or any other baby the adults would tske the food and attack the baby. Several babies in the Cambodian videos have been killed recently by the troop becuase of the filmers feeding the babies. They do it for views. Please don't ever encourage any channel to feed a baby monkey especially around the troop and the whole troop not eating in a large area with a lot of food easily in reach.

Kaileys eyes are so sad. You can tell that she really is having a hard time with how her mom does her. This has to be the most attention I have seen Gypsy give this poor sweet baby. So I believe you are right. She does at least have some what of a conscience and feels bad about biting Kaileys Little fingers off. But it looks like all the females around her today are helping her with the healing process. I think all of those around like Aunt Ruddy and even Kneely probably had something to say to Gypsy about that sort of punishment to her little baby. You know the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome, well that is Gypsy. She keeps having babies and I keep thinking that she will morph into this wonderful mom. It is one thing to strive to make your child independent when they are old enough to live without your assistance. At Kailey's age, she cannot digest some food sources that may be available for foraging, and that would only be if her babysitter's would allow her to forage, which they don't. So Gypsy gives them just enough milk to survive but not enough to thrive. I get it. It isn't all Gypsy's fault. She is low ranking with little chance of getting a lot to eat but when we have seen other mother's who are low ranking and in worse physical condition than Gypsy, give their babies what they need to survive, it is hard to watch Gypsy. I get it though. She is what she is and you are right, they survive in spite of her.

As Arroz said, she hasn't lost any babies since he has been observing and they all become independent sooner than others ymthat were coddled. Like it or not her parenting won't change and the only way she will be sterilized is if she happens to get caught in the cages when they set the traps. They don't observe and pick the 'worst ' parents obviously.

Arroz who are we to criticise? Maybe she's smarter than we (I) give her credit for. She does have a higher degree of success over some of the other more doting mothers, albeit a tad rough but when Knotty is out on his own its his survival skills that matter, not that he missed cuddles.

I love me some Kaley I honestly believe she may have cut herself on that little fence there are a lot of monkeys around there that’s coming out with deep cuts and gashed lately . Something is not right here ; maybe somebody is feeing them at the same time there are covertly putting glass in the bushes or something we don’t know about! With the ones who came up missing , they could have been trapped and stolen . Or posited and passed . Again something not quite right here !

Between 4 to 5 so he still has about 2 years with us. Nowadays he only comes back to mum to be groomed occasionally.

They don't have no chores but to be thriving and independent before all the other babies because she's starving them and if something doesn't got Teeth yet that means it is dependent on the mother to feed it properly and you say Gypsy has not lost a single baby yet well I don't think the other mothers have lost a baby yet either by feeding them .

According to the video person Gypsy has not fed her baby all Day at times so I would not bet on her feeding her baby every day I just don't see it that Monkey is a bag of bones.

Arroz, I am new to all this monkey stuff but I think Kaileys mom is crazy. They have no choice but become independent . That sickend me to see where she bit that baby's fingers and didn't even tend to them . Some of the others especially Rudy I think that's who it was , was very concerned. Mom didn't even show remorse. I'm really at a loss for words other than she's crazy and this isn't the first time she's hurt one of her children. Thank God for those that care and pick up the pieces of her destructive behavior. Maybe she should be fixed and not have anymore.

I think HE’S making the argument, based on his observations and the statistically astounding number of being one of only two mothers who never lost a child, they’ve survive BECAUSE of her. Their existence is harsh and brutal, if we are being honest. Especially for females.This troupe literally lives to eat. Yet, ALL of her children are selfless and loving, smart and competent. People who believe that’s an accident are not acknowledging the role parenting plays in shaping children’s behavior. She could have bitten and redirected her children the second they showed love and comfort to each other, she could have demanded they take the same “tough love” attitude she has. Even to this day they still look at her approval for the way they’ve handling her babies. In order to not raise a single child with selfish or cruel tendencies means she must have swiftly punished any negative behaviors that would be natural when someone new comes along to command more of their mommy’s attention.

A mother should always be loving to her kids.... Then there’s Gypsy at 8:51. She’s such a jerk sometimes. And you know that she bit Kailey on the fingers. That’s exactly what happened. And for such a deep, large gash on her two fingers, you can simply tell that Gypsy bit Kailey very, very hard. And to be frank, that’s absolutely ridiculous to punish a baby that young. Yes, I do believe in boundaries and Kailey does need to follow the troupes’ rules, but to be bitten that hard where it’s likely right down to the bone is a bit excessive. I hope that Gypsy eases up, but it’s not very likely. She’s a very physically aggressive mother monkey towards her offspring. Always makes me feel bad towards any of Gypsy’s babies. Hopefully they either get her fixed or hope she gets too old to have babies and she stops completely.

Faith Moore thank you! That’s good information to know. I wasn’t sure whether it was Gypsy or not, but given her history, I had my finger pointed at her for sure. I just feel bad for Kailey. She’s being terribly neglected and she is one of the cutest babies I’ve ever seen. Hard to not feel bad for her

Faith Moore if you watch any of the videos with Kneely, I can attest that I’ve seen videos of Gypsy biting her hands multiple times and very hard. As far as the other info, I think you could be right about the booby traps. Some people seem to absolutely detest monkeys. I truly don’t understand why, they are just animals. But yeah, check out some weaning videos or just videos with Gypsy and Kneely and you will see how often she bites and where she tends to bite. Sometimes she bites wherever she can get a hold of the baby but it usually ends up being bites on their hands and fingers.
