I love the shorts and shirt together on you! They look like a smart playsuit! I think it's the details, like you said about the different direction of stripes, but also the rolled up sleeves, the proper collar, and even the waist details of the shorts. Very lovely and wearable! I like your other two wearing options as well. I think they look like perfect beach shorts! As always, your knitting is amazing! I like how well you explain and describe everything, knitting and sewing!

Yep, I love the Olya and shorts together! I agree that the extra details of the shirt elevate it so that it doesn't look like a pyjama top. That's my favourite of the looks you styled, but the others looked good too, just more casual. The shorts would also be great worn with a plain white or a Chambray button-up shirt - I knew they'd be really versatile. Would look gorgeous with tan coloured shoes and bag too.

Hi, I’m not sure how you feel about this idea but it’s something I was told about once in a slimming group that I think applies to anyone wanting to really think about how they really look in their clothes and not get hung up on things that used to put you off wearing something. Basically take each of your garments out of the wardrobe (at your own pace) and style them with other items from your wardrobe. So take out a pair of trousers eg, and try them on with 3 or 4 other things and take a pic of each outfit. Open a new album on your phone/computer and open a file for each garment you start off with. Over time you build up a look book. So when you feel that nothing looks right or you have nothing to wear you can go and look at how you actually look and it stops your mind writing things off. You can add the each file as you add in new clothes, layers accessories etc and keep it for a permanent reference. If it’s on your phone it means that when you are out and about and think… Oh I love that fabric you can check that it will match several garments and if you have stash hub you could even see if you already have a great pattern to use for it too. To do your whole wardrobe would take a time but if you start with spring think how many vlog segments you could get out of it! Even a few collabs maybe by suggesting a theme. Who doesn’t like playing ‘dressing up’???

Super cute shorts set. The shirt could also be worn open over a vest top or bikini if a breeze comes up at the beach. The sweater is working up beautifully. Nice to try new techniques to see how the effect differs between patterns. You are making great progress. I look forward to seeing your decision-making on the wardrobe pieces you are on the fence about keeping. MeMadeMay is a great catalyst for examining our closets with a critical eye. My closet desperately needs a good culling.

Hello Cath. The shorts look great with three outfits I'm sure you will get lots of use from them. The jumper you are knitting is fabulous the neck line is perfect , in fact you have inspired me to get my knitting out this week. Look up inserting a life line in your knitting. You put one in every X rows. You note which row of the pattern it is. If you make a mistake you simply take the knitting of the needles, frog to the lifeline. This length of yarn runs through all of the stitches, just like a knitting onesie. You simply pick up the stitches and start the next row of the pattern. Don't every use a hairy yarn for a life line! Use something smooth. I've been knitting since I was 4 (54 years) and I often use lifelines

Love your shorts & shirt combo 🤩. I have a similar color striped fabric but in a viscose/rayon fiber which is much drapier….thought of making a similar style oversized ( but not too oversized) shirt. Your jumper/sweater is absolutely stunning. I’m always very impressed with your knitting and crochet skills- your tension is so consistent and your items are beautiful.
