When i see my parents and realise how old they are getting, i just have this feeling deep inside me that i could have been a better daughter. So one day, i went to my mom and told her that i loved her. At first she thought that i needed something but when i explained her, she started crying. The tears of joy that were falling down her cheeks are by far the best feeling i ever had and i doubt anything else would make me happier. Remember to cherish your parents and show them that you love them before it's late. It may be nothing, but it'll mean a lot to them.

Having divorced parents was the best thing that could’ve ever happened to me. Not waking up from my dads car screeching away while my mom screams her head off at him. He left us for 6 months to run off the bill for y my moms best-friend that he had been secretly seeing for a year. he came back 6 months later and wanted to start a throuple with the three of them and choked my mom when she told him how f*ed up that was. the divorce let me stay with my mom and help her be stable.
@anonomous86492 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm sure it really sucks to have divorced parents and I am going to avoid it with my little boy as much as possible. But I have parents who "stayed together for the kids". My mom relied on my abusive dad financially and all that did was emotionally destroy me, put me through physical abuse, and give me trauma that will probably affect me my whole life. If my mom had kicked my dad out a long time ago I feel life would have been better. She always talked about it and gave me hope, but never went through with it and is still with him to this day. My husband is amazing and I have complete trust in him. But if he puts me or my son through any of what my dad did, I'll be out of this marriage faster than he can blink and he knows it. I feel for children whose parents have divorced, but would it really have been worth it for them to stay together despite their issues?

I think the only way it is easier is not hearing the arguments and fighting anymore. Seeing your parents hate each other and then it gets filtered to you is so hard. Divorce is hard too but at least there’s some separation and healing starting. I wish we all could make it work but unfortunately not every relationship can
@TheReal_happy402 жыл бұрын
It's like this for most of us, but it's still better than having them both in the same house, hating each other in front of you. You know, ever since I was born, I've never seen my parents love each other, it was hate since the beginning. The divorce happened when I was 12, I'm 23 now and have temper issues, love issues, and sometimes when I have to remember those times they argued, I still cry.
@Dr_zevia2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes it’s that the parents argue so much and have such a bad relationship, it’s better to get divorced.
@AnnaMerteuil2 жыл бұрын
@@TheReal_happy40 I don't remember much of my childhood (I was young when they took separate ways, like 5), I have witnessed some arguments between my parents before I was 5 (I don't vividly or vaguely remember them consciously), then saw him be happy with the woman of his life, my sister and I do have good relationship with her (even with our sometimes hot tempers). Once, we argued and I said to her how I felt about the arguments I've witnessed (before my dad planned doing it properly). I agree the divorce is easier than watch them unhappy together (plus, my dad has always made sure he had the best words possible for my mum, defending her when others made mean comments about her, made sure they could still be parents together besides this divorce and the consequences on our family). But I still have trust and love issues as a grown adult after being in this mess this young P.S : I always had a good relationship with my dad (who's been dead now by 6 years) and he always made sure we were in his life and worried when we had an argument with our stepmom

@bgb4112 жыл бұрын
On the flip side, I had parents who stayed together until my dad died, and they argued all the time and brought me and my sister into their fights. I thought argumentative behavior in relationships was normal, but the first person I ever had feelings for told me that he learned everything he knows about confrontation from me. I have also stayed in toxic relationships way past their expiration date, because I was taught that's what you're supposed to do. Sometimes a divorce is necessary. Staying "for the kids" can really do them a disservice later in life.

Yeah my dad did this too. He was angry that my mom hadn't scheduled an appointment for my younger sister yet because the doctor's office was booked, blamed it on her, said I was going to be a loser in life liker her, and that I was going to end up living in a cardboard box on the street, alone, on drugs and that I'd kill myself. He said it was just the truth. I stopped taking him seriously after that. It's sad how hurtful parents can be when they never learned how to manage their own emotions or take responsibility for their own actions like real adults.
