Other than redesign some of the parts, the big thing Henry did to make it reliable was the mags. The wire keeper on the mag ensures round retention and reliable feeding that previous mags did not have.

Yup, thats the big thing but didnt I mentioned that already? Lol

I bought an AR7 in 1964 when Armalite made it. I recently bought a Henry AR7. I put a cheap scope (OMMO 3-9X40 Rifle Scope) on it, but it took me some research to find the correct quick release rings (Redfield 47327 .22 See-Thru Dovetail Rings). The gun shoots great, 1" groups at 100 feet (with some brands of ammo). I know exactly where to mount the scope on the built-in rail, but I must slide it on before attaching the barrel. I only wish that Henry had made the inside storage compartment of the stock able to accommodate a scope attached to the action.
@gnutzguy Жыл бұрын
i dunno if there is enuff room for a scope but they could update the rail to a picatinny rail.
@judgedayan9934 Жыл бұрын
@@gnutzguy They would have to make the stoke a little larger. What would realy be great is if they made a 9mm version of the AR7. It would be the perfect home defense gun.
@gnutzguy Жыл бұрын
@@judgedayan9934 yes, a 9mm would be a good idea. Have you checked a kel tec sub 2000?

@@gnutzguy I've checked that a few years ago. They used to be $300. But now hard to find for under $450. Also they can't fold with an optic. Better the new S&W folding carbine.

Great job on this video sir! Good lighting, close but not too close, nothing hurried. I have one in Timber Camo, love it. All the other videos I have watched have failed to show how to field strip the bolt. Some ammo is dirtier than others which can add to fouling of the bolt. Good job! 💯
@gnutzguy Жыл бұрын

I recently purchased just such a rifle and had a great time firing when I removed the scope I put on it, it was quite accurate using the iron sights alone. Mounting a scope I happened to have on did require that I purchase an adapter. The result was that with the adapter and excessively high scope rings (they came with the scope) forced me to elevate my cheek well above the stock. So, I either add a cheek riser, get lower scope rings, or stick with the iron sights (my choice) for shooting my beautiful little AR-7. (BTW, I love this video; incredibly informative and straight to the point in all ways.)

This was definitely the most in depth video on the Henry AR7 that I've seen. Great job covering just about everything. I was wondering what needs to be done to adjust the rear sight? Do you need a tool to adjust the sights? Thank you for an extremely informative and entertaining video. Well done. 👍
@donaldduke2233 Жыл бұрын
Just look at the back of the receiver. At 2:51 you can clearly see that the two peep sights are in a bar held in place by the screw, which is also used to adjust elevation.

Looks like an improvement over the Charter Arms AR-7. You could not remove the bolt unless you unscrewed the trigger group cover plate and removed the mag release and ejector. Not optimal for cleaning. Does the Henry have a spring-loaded ejector in the bolt face?

@bjohnson352528 күн бұрын

At 8:44 you mention the other sight "which I will show you later". The only problem is that "later" never comes. Fortunately for anyone who is observant, just looking at the receiver before assembly shows the reversible peep sight plate. Also, the end of the video did not reveal the promised names of the 3 James Bond movies which feature AR-7s.

Try actually using it. Bolt Barrel and magazine is junk. Simply because the bolt does not lock back. The bolts smashes the barrel when the magazine is empty which damages the barrel which in turn causes jams damaging the magazine. Henry has got to fix the bolt problem. Only then the AR7 will be reliable.
