The missing cultural context has caused plenty of problems for the observer(s). Without a practical reference, the aliens only had weapons on the mind when they saw all of the tools. To those who knew what the tools were used for found it humorous how the aliens reacted to each type of tool, some sympathy had to be felt for the aliens because of how scared they were of what might happen when the tools were picked up. Stories like this one are a nice change and a fresh perspective to many of the stories about the Earth kicking butt and taking names later.
