I normally really dislike what I ate in a day videos as they can get repetitive and boring. You say you always eat the same things, but you rarely do on these specific videos. Its not boring and you KEEP IT REAL, something most KZbinrs do not. Thanks for your constant genuinity!

Agreed! I watched a lot of vegan WIAT videos when I first transitioned for ideas, but I got SO BORED seeing the exact same oats and smoothie bowls and plates of potatoes and other trendy shit video after video. But Lauren eats real food, creative and resourceful takes on things, with actual VARIETY! Plus the videos are natural and not super staged.

Why we love your "What I ate in a day" videos (even more than other people's videos): 1) They are real and not edited to look perfect or falsified to show you eating a perfect diet when you actually don't most days. They are not merely representative of how you eat, but show what you actually eat, as you eat it. 2) Relatable. Sometimes we don't eat normal meals at normal times throughout the day and just graze, or we might not eat a "real" dinner and instead make a meal out of popcorn :P 3) You're spreading a positive vegan message and leading by example. You are also illustrating that vegans eat "normal" food and that you don't have to live on bananas and dates to be vegan (not that there's anything wrong with that, but it does turn many people off to veganism initially). 4) Your passion for food is infectious and inspiring. 5) Your personality. You are funny and real, and don't take yourself too ultra-ultra seriously. You have a very natural, unpretentious presentation style.

Hi Lauren I know this video is quite old so you may not read this but this video has been really helpful to me, as a new vegan I can get very overwhelmed by all this things we should and shouldn't do, it seems that everyday there is something new to avoid (have vegan pets, people should not own animals, don't procreate, etc) those are some of the more controversial topics I've been seeing lately and If it wasn't for you to have as a vegan role model, someone more normal and much more like me maybe I wouldn't had been able to keep this lifestyle we are all just trying to do our best,and keep learning everyday. But I just wanted to tell you this, so you know how important your role in this commynity is, besides the amazing food obviously. So I don't know I just wanted to thank you , love from México

I love your attitude towards the whole "we are all learning" topic when it comes to veganism and all that it entails. You find some people on KZbin who harp on you for not knowing certain things about what it is to be vegan or not knowing about the hummus issue or palm oil issue and you feel guilty and bad after their videos and that's not how any of that should be approached. You're so right, we don't know everything, and no one does. We have to help just inform each other about certain issues, not ridicule and degrade people for being simply unaware. I just really love that while watching you research and talk about the comments in such a comforting and open minded way knowing that we aren't all perfect and feel like you informed me about such issues without feeling attacked and that's why I love your channel and these videos especially!
@heyheychels8 жыл бұрын
Adding on to your thoughts about palm oil, it is impossible to do everything right. I agree with you! In the US, we have so many phones, toys, etc shipped from places like China where there aren't child labor laws. It is nice to be informed but you'll drive yourself crazy trying to be perfect in all aspects.

I'm from Norway and in 2012 an organization called regnskogfondet (rainforest foundation) launched a campaign against palm oil. Half a year later Norwegian food companies had reduced their palm oil usage by 2/3. Today it is rare to see foods with palm oil in Norwegian stores. Most of the products that do contain palm oil are manufactured in other countries, like for example oreos, daim, snickers, etc. Just wanted to let you guys know that if enough people get aware of palm oils' negative effect on the environment and avoid it, then food producers will stop using it in their products.

+Oda Selvik yes that's very cool. I've been reading more about it and watching UNNATURAL VEGAN - i Linked it in the description of this video! THe more you know. Sounds like its becoming like high fructose corn syrup. Its banned in most places (not a vegan issue, but a health issue) and only still in the US where Obesity is a big issue.

I truly appreciate these videos, personally, as a person who's transitioning into a vegan lifestyle and diet. I think one of the hardest things is coming up with NEW meals ideas, to replace all your old. I was raised by meat eaters, my whole family is full of meat eaters, so every recipe I ever encountered had some form of meat in it, even if just a stock or base. Eggs and cheese were heavily used too. So it's really difficult to even know where to start, honestly. The buffalo cauliflower "wings" were the starting point for me, and changed everything. And since then I've looked here for guidance on what I can do for quick lunches that are still very healthy and flavorful. Thank you so much for doing these videos

Thank you for being so real and honest about the struggle of trying to know everything about everything you consume. As a newbie to all this, I constantly feel overwhelmed by all the unethical practices taking place in my world, and it's very hard to feel okay just doing what you can. But you're right, that's the best any of us can do, and we shouldn't be so hard on ourselves. As we know better, we can try to do better. Please continue to be yourself and don't let any crazy butt hurt people get to you!

It is very apparent that you have strong beliefs in things and are very passionate about your values, but I love the way you dont put others down for not having your values.Drives me crazy to see people with influence talk about things they claim to be passionate about without doing their research or listening to other people critiquing where they source their info. You seem to be fair and considerate that we all can learn form each other :)

absolutely love how real and honest your videos are! palm oils definitely a tough one - it's in legit everything! plus, i dunno what the laws are like over there, but in australia there's no law around saying what specific oil is used in products, so most companies just list 'vegetable oil' in the ingredients. super frustrating cos it's such a sneaky way to hide the use of palm oil. makes it near impossible to avoid itl unless you do extensive research before hand :/

I love these! Palm oil is hard to avoid in natural/vegan skincare I've noticed... Also, how is it that you still look glowy and pretty past midnight after drinking!? I would be a complete mess...
