Same here sometimes! I think it's normal given the crazy amounts of diet culture rhetoric we're consciously and unconsciously exposed to. It can seep in and cause a lot of unhealthy thinking around health and wellness...it happens to all of us! That's why I'm always checking in with myself and making sure that my intentions are to be truly healthy, well, and happy. It's easier said than done sometimes but just taking a moment before reacting or acting out of guilt makes a big difference! Glad this was helpful 💛 Sending you love!

@@NikkiVegan But it's so relatable!😁 Like, I do so much weird stuff when I'm holding certain positions, especially now since the pandemic and I only work out at home by myself😉. But it's so much more fun that way! It was very well put and even though I'm following so many fitness channels and used to regularly meet with trainers in the gym I never heard someone make that point and it was really refreshing😊.

Yes!!!!! Go off on the smoothie topic!! Also when I first went vegan I didn’t like salads or smoothies, and now 6 years later I LOVE salads and smoothies! I think people think just because they don’t like something now means that they never will. Which isn’t true!

As a non-native speaker, I startled a bit at the "wedge salad", I first thought of a "veg(table) salad" and was sure that you'd be adding vegetable to the iceberg lettuce. Learned something new today! I don't think I've ever seen anything like a wedge salad before in Germany :D

Ahh! That makes sense! Yeah wedge salads are usually just a big thick slice of ice burger with a creamy dressing on top. They're kind of old fashioned and they're commonly topped with bleu cheese, tomatoes, onions, and bleu cheese dressing so this my veganized spin on it! Hope you enjoy it you give it a try 😊

I noticed you don’t add black pepper when using turmeric...it helps aid in the absorption of the curcumin in the turmeric. 😁

I made your smoothie for breakfast this morning. It is AMAZING! There is something about the combo of dark cherries and almond butter that really makes it taste like a milkshake. 10/10. Now I need to buy more frozen cherries. 😄

I LOVE iceberg lettuce! I hate how it gets a bad rap for not being "dark and leafy!" It's terrific shredded in tacos or on a burger, it's perfect for sandwiches because the leaves cover the entire bread so they don't slip out, and it's super crunchy and cold. I've always loved wedge salads, thanks for reminding me! It'll be especially great once tomatoes come into season and a nice, ripe diced tomato can top it!

All these meals look soooooo good. I love nice cream with cherries, cacao powder, vanilla and some cacao nibs on top, but definitely trying it with almond butter or extract next time I make it! Those sweet potato fries looked insanely delicious. X

I loved these recipe ideas! I was wondering if maybe you could do a video on or talk about fear foods? I really struggled with an eating disorder nearly three years ago and went through a relatively smooth recovery, but I've been really struggling with more and more fear foods recently and have found that nearly every food feels unhealthy and have been struggling with restriction. I know you've spoken so beautifully and articulately about eating disorder recovery and I was wondering if you had any wisdom? Thanks again for your lovely videos :)

It was going to be a run but my body just hasn’t been liking high impact (I’m almost 47) so I’m listening to it. That’s one thing, too. You don’t have to do nothing, if your body isn’t feeling it. Find out what you can do and do that instead!

@@NikkiVegan spinach with cherries although lately in GA we have been low so sometimes I have to sub with strawberries, with cacao, cauliflower, pumpkin seeds and some kind of sweetener. I dont do bananas because I feel it takes over so I would use dates or maple syrup or something like that.

That smoothie looks great. However the calcium in spinach doesn’t get absorbed well. I recently found out I have osteoporosis and have to take supplements.

Aw I'm sorry to hear that! The soy milk is fortified with a lot of calcium too and vitamin d is really important for proper calcium adoption and since most of us are inside a lot, most of us are low in vitamin D so it's so good that you got it checked and are taking supplements as needed. The only way to know how our bodies are absorbing nutrients is to get blood work done so I'm happy you did that and you're doing what's best for you. So many people just guess and that can be so problematic. Glad you're doing good now! Thanks for letting everyone know that it's important to stay on top of your health 😊😊 Sending you love!
