Have to agree with you on the salad thing. One does not simply skip the dressing 😊 it just adds better texture and aromas..plus, the fat is crucial for proper nutrient absorption from the greens and for regulating hormones..basically a win win 😄

You can add nuts for absorption and eat a whole food.

Hey Hannah! I'm from Maine. Wild blueberries are still cultivated blueberries - "wild" is often a nickname for lowbush (tiny) rather than highbush (large) blueberries. Wyman's are tasty but aren't organic or no-spray, their lowbush blueberries are raised conventionally with pesticides.

I loved this video because most of the time people don't eat that much or don't show it at least.. But I eat the same amount and feel amazing and I am healthy, so I was happy to see that you're eating enough as well =) And I feel the same way about plastic, so I just want to tell you that it is already amazing that you try du reduce it and that you're aware of your usage, so don't be so strict with yourself, it is not that easy in a world where plastic is so widespread but try and one day you will reach your goal, xx Janka

In the book, Eating on the Wild Side: The Missing Link to Optimum Health, a Book by Jo Robinson, he illustrates that it is important for optimum health, raw salads are best accompanied by fats for the body to absorb all the phytonutrients. So keep adding those plant fats to your salads as long as you don't overdo it of course.

What's the rationale behind not eating alot of fat? Obviously everything needs to come in moderation, but what reasons other then weight loss are there for limiting fat intake? Thini, nuts and such are great sources of vitimans and minerals... Just interested .Also, a blood test just showed that I'm low in iron ( I've been vegan for four months or so). Any tips on making sure you get enough iron? Thanks! Love your videos
@HannahMcNeely7 жыл бұрын
Well, the reasons for staying in low in fat are so numerous I couldn't even begin to type them out here. When we keep our diets very low in fat and very low in protein (only about 10% of our calories from each), we are preventing diseases and keeping out energy levels high. And just personally, I feel so so so much better when I keep my fat low throughout the week. Sometimes I have high fat days, other days I don't eat any overt fats at all. But it all evens out to about 10% of my calories from fat. Not that I count; I have just been doing this a long time so I know what is about that much. :)
@אליענהרובינס-מורגנשטרן7 жыл бұрын
Hannah McNeely thank you so much! I'll have to do some more research. I feel like I need to find a healthy way to limit fat without it getting too close to toxic diet crap. Thank you
@naominyznyk56647 жыл бұрын
You should check out healthy crazy cool here on KZbin, he's a vegan nutritionist and he speaks out on the importance on fat in your diet and how whole food vegan sources of plant fat are extremely vital and healthy and how super low fat diets are just not as healthy as they're cracked up to be. When I first went vegan I though in order to be healthy I had to limit my fats and I honestly felt terrible and I was constantly craving fat. Now I eat as much fat as I want, my fat falls at about 20-30% of calories each day and I love it. I think this idea that fats are bad for you even when they're plant sources is a really negative thing for veganism. Naturally people will feel better with different levels of fat, but that doesn't mean that that is how everyone should eat. Experiment with your fat and find what feels good :) your body will always let you know that's best!

Wymans blueberries are amazing. I was born and raised in Maine, where that brand is from and it’s the one thing I miss since I moved away a couple years ago ❤️ I saw Ellen had some awhile back all the way in Hawaii. We used to pick them wild in the backyard all my life. We also picked little pea sized strawberries in our fields if our cows didn’t get them all. I went vegan as an adult because I was always heartbroken when it came time to pick a cow...My Grampy taught me to feed them the berries and grass from my hands as a very small child. At some point they stopped being food and we just had them as pets. Great memories come with Maine blueberries 🐄

I'm the exact opposite! And now I love them, cause I wait til they're super spotty and then freeze them to use in smoothies or oatmeal. :)

Hey Hannah! How far did you run before breaky? I always eat dinner fairly early the day before then run early morning fasted and can go about 10km but never tried more than this without food. Also is having 2 bananas as a snack not unnecessary, like I understand the nana smoothie after your run because it’s very fast releasing but surely the sugar and quick releasing banana snack just spikes your blood unnecessarily? I save bananas for post workout ☺️
