Happy you've been able to navigate the challenges, & provide insight. Solar is def the way in the Caribbean. Are solar panels & generators expensive there? The system & bureaucracy seem like a headache. Btw love the fit which matches your home decor.
@ruttyb
@ruttyb 3 ай бұрын
Thanks!! Solar panels aren’t expensive here. We’ve changed our system a few times & they have always been affordable. As for generators, there are some that cost a few hundred & some a few thousand. It depends on the person’s needs & budget.
@politicomania5692
@politicomania5692 3 ай бұрын
Solar panels and batteries very affordable, don't bother buying them from the states. I recommend gel batteries since they are maintenance free and have decent life expectancy with a good regulator, (lithium batteries are something else). Also If you can bring a nice pure sine wave inverter (24V 3.5 kw recommended) from ebay or amazon around $300 or less do so, hard to find this kind of deal here. I'm happy with 14 kw battery bank installed and solar panels producing 5 kw+ daily, my energy consumption 3.5 kw + daily. So I have power 24/7 for everything like fridge, stove, water pump, Fans, TV, light.... I don't get stressed about power, it's just there and I don't need to use my backup gas generator.

Mwen patap konseye okenn moun achte kay Ayiti paske ou pa konnen kijan kay la te konstwi. Pito w achte tè a epi bati kay ou. Konsa ou asire kay la byen konstwi. Si w vle lwe yon kay, sa depann de zòn lan. Zònn tankou Port-au-Prince, w ap jwenn tout enfomasyon yo online. Men lòt kote pi difisil pou jwenn enfòmasyon sou kay. Achte tè difisil anpil paske ou ka pran nan pyèj. Ou ka achte nan men yon moun ki pat menm gen dwa vann tè a. Fò w fè anpil rechèch anvan w achte nenpòt tè. Li te fasil pou nou paske nou achte tè kote nou sòti a. Komin nou an piti epi tout moun konnen lòt. It’s hard to get scammed in a small town.

this is sooo sad man. Even the most corrupted countires that I can think of has some sort of basic necessity. But Haiti is truly unlike any other. I legit cannot find a way back into the country. I have searched all of the relevant websites for apartments or house for rent.... even for sale as well and theres nothing. I know that not all of port au prince is not bad, but I am simply not interested in port au prince, I want everything else but port au prince. I cannot live in the south because Jacmel and les cayes dont have international ports. Les cayes has a domestic air port and technically so does jacmel but GUESS WHAT? its not even operating. So Our only option is okap...idk what to do. For any country in the western hemisphere I can actually browse at apartment listings and see a general process on how to move there...but haiti 😂 I dont even think theres a government website. Imagine ppl wanting nto move back to their country to contribute and they cannntttt looooooooooooool

Jacmel and Les Cayes airports are functioning and have always been functioning, except during the temporary pause a few months back when the gangs shot up the PAP airport and all flights ceased. Now that everything is back up and running, you can continue to take a transfer charter flight using Sunrise Airways from either Cap Haitien or PAP into those cities again. Hope that helps ❤

Now, what if you don't have your birth certificate because the hospital where you were born at claimed the archives were burned down? What if you only have an old expired Haitian pastort and act de baptem?
@ruttyb
@ruttyb 3 ай бұрын
But hospitals don’t hold your birth certificate. You don’t even get it at the hospital. The process is completely different from places like the US. Your parents or a family member registers your birth at Etat Civil in the town you’re born in. So if you are looking for it at the hospital, then you’re looking in the wrong place.
@AgainstColorism
@AgainstColorism 3 ай бұрын
@ruttyb I'm from the North, and they claimed to have had recent birth certificates but that I had to go to the national archives in Port Au Prince to retrieve it if it even existed there. I was never able to find the so-called archives in Port Au Prince. All local government offices I went to referred me back to the hospital. The only place that kept any records of my existence was the Catholic Church. But off course, not birth certificates.
