The avata 2 isn’t really made to be for the racers and freestylers that want to win competitions, it’s made as a stop gap between the 2 different types of drone consumers, those who want both a cinematic drone and a freestyle drone. It does a reasonable job of both, great cinematic videography and fun freestyle videos. You get great video and still have great fun while doing it. I’ve got my hands on one and have my original avata up for sale. Still waiting on the RC3 controller, because of course it’s sold out, but at least I have it on back order. Already taken it, on my second battery charge out to 3.5 kilometres when it went into return to home mode in strong wind and in sport mode. Still had slightly over 20% battery left, and I’m sure that if it wasn’t in sport mode and that I’d gone up to 500 metres I’d probably make 5 kilometres easily. Love, love ,love it and can barely wait till I get the new controller , not that I’m a great freestyle flyer, but I can fly freestyle in full manual mode. I loved that hotel, what a good price for a decent looking hotel, I’d be willing to bet that the next time you head out that way again, that you’ll stop there again. All the best from Australia mate.

imagine if they upgraded the action 2 to use the sensor from the action 4, which would then be perfect for home built fpv, and the avata 2 had a magnetic mount on the top which could interface with the camera to provide a dual camera set-up, allowing us to use cinematic frame rates, flying with underexposure to maintain detail in the sky (or just allowing the pilot camera to auto expose quickly for better visibility while flying and keep the recording camera to auto expose slowly), and there could be an option to have picture in picture for both cameras, or switch views in case you have locked in your settings and then the light changes- there's nothing worse than knowing your go pro is going to be totally wrong because the conditions have changed, we badly need to be able to control our recording camera remotely, of course you can fly back close to you and hopefully connect to it with the app but without gps hold or running inav it's a challenge

Fantastic location and video Ken. From what I've seen this version is very very fragile compared to the first avata. The motors are not recessed like the original and if you crash it from what I've seen in other videos they become easily damaged. There is also no user replaceable parts available like the original. I think I'm going to stick with my A1 for now and I just bought some extra parts as they're disappearing from stores. Thanks again for the great content
@changeagent2284 ай бұрын
Can I ask do your Goggles 3 have dead pixels? If you could play a white video on them and look closely. I'm on my third replacement and DJI insist that dead pixels are normal and I shouldn't worry about them. Whereas I thought I was buying a pristine product and seeing two or more dead pixels in the middle of my vision really bothers me. The most recent set has 6 dead pixels.

I do hope in the Goggles 3 they introduce a little soft padding instead of that thin cheap rubber with your face up against molded plastic. You are dead on about the repairability on this thing.
