i live in Greece (on the island) and i can say that in the last 5 years, the prices has risen a lot. not only for eating but everything is more expensive on the islands - not yet like on Mykonos or Santorini that you are reffering, but it is. Rent, petrol, supermarket, electrecity - they have very high price comparing to Greek salaries. You are reffering that you can eat cheap - maybe it is possible, but you are eating from plastic plate (paketo) so of course food will be cheaper than to sit in cafe/restaurant. You are buying from supermarket with lower prices. Not all the tourists will do that, eat lunch on the bench in park, they will sit in restaurant or go for a breakfast to cafe. We can make 20e last for a day - but realisticly this is not what all people on holidays will do. Greece is about expieriencing greek food in taverna...and that makes the cost a bit higher.

Hello! You have some valid point here. First of all, Greece used to be more affordable. If I did this video 10 years ago the title might have been 'What I eat for the full day with only 10€'. But this channel is not about politics or economics, so I would prefer not to go further on that. All these places (apart from the supermarket) have a few tables that someone can eat there. I chose to take the food and go somewhere quiet to film (I mentioned in the video that I am not comfortable filming while I eat when there are people around), but whoever wants to sit and eat there can do that. This video is for that person who travels on a budget, but still wants to eat well, good quality food that also is connected to the culture of Greece. For sure, that doesn't apply to every single person that visits Greece, people have different budgets and different wants. Someone might want to follow what is recommended in the video, while someone else might want to eat in a yaght in Santorini's Caldera the food that his private chef cooked. Someone else might want to go to a greek house and cook with the greek family and eat together (yes, many people do that) while someone else might want to enjoy a nice dinner in a nice taverna by the beach. They are all different ways to experience all the beautiful things that this beautiful country offers! This video, though is only for that person who travels on a budget but still enjoys nice things, the same way I have traveled around the world! By the way, I also wish one day to live on a Greek island! You should know that you are very lucky! I am wishing you the best, God bless you!

if you ate all these its like ~3.000 cals if not more , especially in this heat it may be too much even for a man skip the tyropita and take 2 koulouri(a) to combine with the yogurt

Usually in tiropita so called cheese pie n Greece the vendors don't use feta cheese but anthotiro it's a cheaper version of feta still tastes OK but isn't the real thing as for the oil isn't olive oil but lard or cheap vegetable fatty butter.Hence the cheap price .

When it comes to making feta cheese pie (tiropita), the secret is in the filling. It’s not just feta; we mix it with a creamier cheese (like anthotiro) and eggs. This combination ensures the filling is smooth and creamy rather than just a block of feta. Anthotiro, while mild, plays a crucial role in getting that perfect texture, but you’re right-it doesn’t add much flavor on its own. That’s why feta is essential, as it brings that rich, tangy taste we all love. As for the dough, I’ve tried different recipes-some use olive oil, some sunflower oil, and others butter. This particular tiropita was made with butter, and you could really smell that amazing, buttery aroma. It’s one of the best I’ve ever had, and you could tell it was a hit because they sold almost half a tray straight out of the oven while I was there! The place I got it from specializes in just a few types of pies, which might be why the price point is so low-they really focus on doing those few things exceptionally well.
