I started a weight loss journey February 2022. I hit my goal this past Christmas. I lost 72 pounds! I did by counting calories, and moving. I firmly believe you have to "count" calories. It is thermodynamics. Calories in, calories burned. Even maintaining weight, you have to burn as much as you eat or more or you will gain it back. I weigh certain foods still. Not all anymore but I do. 2 months into new year and lost 2 more pounds. Even though I hit my "goal" weight in my head, I want to lose maybe 10 more, but I am using the whole 2023 to do it. I have hit a marker that losing weight is so hard now. I am proud of you and your journey. It is so hard but rewarding when you can put on those jeans! I had not worn jeans since high school and at Christmas was in a 6! Go Jen! Great job!

Just a stranger on the Internet here, but I'm so proud of you for your consistency. Weight loss aside you look so healthy. Your skin looks great and you just look like a person who takes care of themself. I started eating healthy at the same time as you and I can't tell you how much these videos keep me motivated!

I've been shopping with Thrive for a year now and I love it. I get groceries from them that I can't find anywhere else. I see you find things at Walmart that I can't find anywhere and they have them (like the Siete carnitas seasoning and chorizo seasoning!) I haven't eaten McD's in years. Used to love the Filet o' Fish and fries and would eat it a couple of times a week and now I haven't had it in probably 20 years. Don't miss it either.

I love this, as I know the weight loss and or weight balance things have been an issue. I've struggled since I quit smoking in Nov 2022, and I've previously had weight loss surgery, i just need to get back on track and I can watch you....and know you are therer and I thank you Jen,.....You keep doing what you are doing! I am here for you!

I am trying to get my health journey going without burning myself out too quickly. I tend to be all or nothing mindset and I need to really give myself grace. I have high triglycerides and borderline fasting sugars so I really need to focus on sustainable changes.

Congratulations! Thanks to you I’ve started to count calories. I love that you call it a journey and not a diet. It takes so much of the pressure off and helps keep it real. I’ve tried so many diets but this feels more like a life change. Please keep the videos coming ❤️

I used to walk a lot, but now that I work from home, I really love being home. You inspired me to get a stationary bicycle. 🚴‍♀️ I really love how you have been doing things little by little, it’s made me feel that I can do it also. Thank and congrats!

As a child my mom’s rule at dinner was if you don’t like what we are having you need to make yourself something to eat. I was under 5-8 years old so I couldn’t make much, I survived on celery stuffed with peanut butter (can’t eat it to this day and I am 72), bologna sandwiches ( yuck) or peanut butter and jelly (still like but maybe twice a year). I totally relate to your situation with eggs. So proud of you and your journey. BTW you look especially beautiful in this video.

Yes I am on a weight loss journey. I have these 5lbs that I lose and gain back, so I'm gonna try and do something different this time and see if I can lose in a different way, so we'll see. I just found you on you tube and I liked your video. Thanks!

Hi Jen, I am doing a carnivore diet. I really had reservations about it but talked to my Dr and she did pre labs, 3mo and post labs. Everything was great on my labs. My cholesterol was up slightly but my Dr was pleased. I have lost 27# so far. I am slowly incorporating veggies back in. Congratulations on your weight loss and journey and sharing with us.❤

You're doing great! You've definitely inspired me. I turn 40 on Sunday, and I'm trying to make multiple lifestyle changes. I'm starting with exercise and drinking more water, developing a skincare routine, and a few steps toward creating a better work life balance. I'd like to lose 56 pounds. I haven't really started eating better yet. I've made some tiny additions but haven't made a good plan yet. I love your videos. You're amazing. Thanks so much for the ideas and inspiration. ❤

Way to go Jen!!!!! You are so consistent and thoroughly keeping track of your macros ! Due to this info I've gleaned from your journey so far regarding protein, I have bumped my protein up a bit and am planning more meals around this. I've lost 3 lbs doing just that and then got hit with food poisoning so I've lost 5 more lbs that way. I will be working to not regain all that back for sure!

I’ve gained 15 pounds over the last 3 years. I’d really like to focus on getting that weight off this year. My energy level is lower than it should be and my clothes don’t fit the way I’d like. You are rocking your weight loss!

Haha I did the atkins diet in like 2000 and a lot of my dinners consisted of a plate of microwaved bacon. Also pork rinds which I’m not a huge fan of but when you can’t have chips they are delicious haha.

Congratulations on the weight loss! I’m struggling all the time. First diet ever was 6th grade. I’ve done many different diets over the last 50 years. One I was doing was eating a lot of cottage cheese. I still can’t eat it and it’s been a long long time.😂

Eating out is really hard for diabetics after Covid. I think the only fast food restaurant in my area that has salads and grilled chicken now is Dairy Queen.

We miss McDonald’s salads, too. I haven’t eaten there for over two years. Our students cannot bring outside restaurant food into the cafeteria because of the school lunch program (unless they put it in their own lunch bags so it looks like it came from home)-northwest Iowa.

You can really see the weight loss on your face. You look great, as you always do! ❤ I love the way you’re doing this, it’s balanced and not restrictive. I lost 4 stone in one year by burning more calories than I ate most days in that year. It really works and I didn’t have to avoid my favourite foods for results.

The hubs and I started our weight loss journey in August 2022. He's down 44 lbs. and I'm down 27. I've been meal planning dinners that fit in our daily allowances of calories and macro nutrients. I'm having fun learning to make foods that I actually like and want to eat but will also not take me off track. For fast food we like Chipotle's steak salad, El Pollo Loco's double chicken avocado salad and thanks to you, the Jersey Mike's bowl. Feels like a splurge but it's not.

I use to love the chicken BLT salad. When I went to the hospital to have my so they told me to eat before I ran out of time. I got the chicken BLT salad and a Cherry Berry Chiller . Lol

My way of eating lately is based on focusing on the microbiome. Fat/fiber/protein. Also minimal meals a day eating until full. Usually only 2 times a day without snacking. Controls the insulin spikes every time I eat something.
