Very happy to see you doing SO WELL on this prep. I know historically it takes you a while to nail your adherence and usually means you have to grind at the end. I can't wait to see/hear how you look without having to redline at the end! Great job Holly! (I struggle too so, no judgment here!)

Thanks for sharing Holly! So good to see and love that no foods are 'bad'. Would be awesome to see when your calories drop to see what you consume and how you hit fibre with lower cals. ❤

3:00 - I haven’t found a low-cal nut butter that I like, so I use a mix of 4 parts Greek yogurt to 1 part peanut butter or PB Fit. It retains enough of the nutty flavor to satisfy that craving, but I get way more volume for the calories. 8:45 - I’m the same way. I know this is one of Layne’s buttons, but I don’t track my chewing gum, my fish oil, or my diet soda. But I eat a consistent amount of each and I have Carbon to adjust my targets based on changes in body weight: if I’m consistently reporting 100 calories under, my calorie target will get set 100 lower, and it’ll all even out.

Please please pleasseee work on the carbon app so we can see a snapshot of our week in terms of caloric intake. I find myself having to go back and put my consumed calories in spreadsheet to know if im on track for my next weigh in. Some people are not pros at sticking to macros some days I eat more and make up for it the next day (and it’s not planned so the planner function doesn’t cut it) thanks 🙏🏼
@HollyTBaxter

Have you use the ‘Me’ section of the app where it shows you a snap shot of your calories, and all of the individual macros with the average displayed for you? It has displays for not only weekly, but monthly and yearly views.

@@HollyTBaxter I think the only other thing is the planner. I wish it showed where you are in the week. For instance I weigh in on Fridays, say I try to adjust adjust Saturday but the previous week I’d had a high day Monday- it’s looks like I’ve gone over my calories. Is the trick to reset the planner after every weigh in?

Why so much ultra processed food? Rice cakes, wrap, the peanut butter, cheese food product, powder peanut butter, processed, simple carbohydrate cookies, noodle product. Half of what you eat is ultra processed food like products. Thís is part of the problem with people's health. Just looking at calories does not help metabolic health. Regardless of your pas you should focus on whole food.

@@candayceodom I guess if all you're concerned about is how your body looks, then you wouldn't care how it is functioning, or what you put into it (food). Just because your body "looks good", doesn't mean you're healthy. Looks can be deceiving. And yes, my body looks good! 😃

The problem I have here is she is teaching people this who follow her. Most people need to really understand nutrition not just CICO or Macros. Most people don't understand half of what she is consuming is not food. You can still have some level of insulin resistance even type 2, hypertension and be lean. It is part of why up to 90% of people are walking around with some level of insulin resistance many who are "skinny.". It is what you are eating not necessarily the calories. Regardless of how someone looks they can still get cancers, have hypertension, have hormone imbalances, and other health problems from eating chemicals, preservatives, stabilizers, added sucrose, seed oils, colorings... I am surprised she is eating this because she is a nutritionist. She did have an eating disorder which might explain the psychology here. I see this a lot with clients that have had disordered eating go from restricting certain foods or trying to restrict everything to then going to the opposite end. There is a middle ground here which is what I was saying that people need to learn how to eat real whole food not just about calories/macros. We can eat whole, real food and it is not a "diet" or restrictive. I think this idea only perpetuates or makes many people only go to extremes like vegan, carnivore thinking that is the only way to lose weight because they don't understand hot to eat real whole food. Extremes of diets out there that do eliminate nutrients (which is the whole reason why we eat) as does the Standard American Diet one of the biggest problems with these is the ultra processed foods combined with the lack of nutrients. It is only in the last 50 years or so people started eating mass quantities of ultra processed and processed food products and you can see the statistics with unhealth and the correlation. Being overweight/obese is a symptom that doesn't always manifest. Being overweight is just one symptom of other systemic/hormonal of problems in the body not just one so there are people who can exercise and remain leaner. For reference there is a TED talk with Dr. Peter Attia from 2013 in which he was training for hours and ended up with the beginnings of metabolic syndrome because of WHAT he was fueling with not necessarily the amount given he was training for hours a day he was probably most often in a calorie deficit. I have worked with runners who have had the same problem but overtime fueling with simple carbs. ended up gaining fat due to eating high simple carb.= insulin along with training volume=stress/cortisol levels. And yes, I am a holistic nutritionist t 48 I am 13% BF. I tried to post a pic. but wouldn't let me.
