Hope this gives a bit of an insight as to the technicalities of gaining weight! Again, like I mentioned in the video - the amount you are required to eat in a day literally depends on your lifestyle and how active you are! This really may not look like a lot, but it’s enough for me to gain weight at the life style I live at the moment 😁 Hope this was helpful, I’ll see you all for next weeks vid x

Many people say they eat more than that and still don't gain weight, but to be fair, I thought that too until I actually started counting the calories. I'm finally gaining weight after trying to eat every 2-3 hours instead of 3 big meals a day

I am from India. Indians consume a lot of rice and we don’t eat plain rice it’s really hard to eat plain rice like that. Google something of your style to go with the rice it’ll taste much better.

For me I was body-shamed by my family for being too skinny, so I began eating more at first the same would happen to me, sometimes I even ended up throwing up but I tried to force myself to eat a bit more every time, I also found out having several meals throughout the day was easier than having to eat a whole meal at once. You can do this! :)

have you tried lifting weights. I was also someone who would eat all day long but when I got serious about my weight gain - 1) I started lifting heavy weights 2) I made sure what I was eating had more calories. @@lrskmp You are strong, we all are. Please change your mindset as thats where this journey begins. Tell yourself that you are strong and you can do this. That's half of the battle won. Trust me!! I have been there and I can completely understand. You have all that it takes xx

Thanks for this video, it means a lot 🥰. It was really cute and informational. I’m hoping to gain weight, I’m underweight, my BMI is 16.6 and I’m seeing the side effects of being underweight 😔. All in all, this will be a journey for me, eating a lot is something hard for me cause I don’t feel good afterwards but I’m hoping to be at a healthy weight which will mean I’ll have to gain about 30 more pounds.

Are you going to be incorporating the gym/ weight lifting? I fluctuate between 95-98 , I can never keep weight on. 😭 almost 22

YESS! I recently have been. Am a little inconsistent with it at the moment, but I always find that I can keep the weight on when I do exercise - like weights x

lifting weights is the best thing any hardgainer can try and see results from. Of course nutrition goes hand in hand :)

Melissa De Paula fully depends on your lifestyle!! I literally am sitting down ALLLL the time for work, so I’m not that fit which is why I can eat less and still gain weight ☺️

have you tried lifting weights. Hi! Little advice from an Italian:) if you cook your pasta less you should like it more, because it doesn't become mushy and instead it's "al dente". Hope this helps to make your meal even tastier! :)

Sometimes i don’t have appetite to eat. Are there times when you force yourself? I have GERD so when i eat a large amount, i feel like puking after. And the worst part about that is having fast metabolism at the same time 😭

YES! Allllll the time! hahahah, and yes that's totally normal too. It's something you've just got to push through and allow yourself to be comfortable feeling. After a while, the feeling won't even be there x

@@ivy_nicolee Overfeeding yourself is very bad. It can be just as much of an eating disorder as starving yourself. You should just be happy with the body you have naturally.

@@annie7367 Hey gal, I understand where you're coming from, even with the other comment you had posted. It's not necessarily overfeeding yourself if your body isn't getting the right nutrients it needs. I am very content with my body now for sure, but it didn't happen like this naturally. I used to be 35kg, which is incredibly unhealthy for me as I used to have a form of an eating disorder. The reason I eat the way I do now is because I literally used to eat less than half of what I show in this video and during that time I constantly felt like I had no energy, was constantly fatigued and just overall didn't look good. If you personally feel over eating for you is not good, then of course you don't have to! Just remember everyone's situation is different, not everyone is blessed to be in a healthy weight range sometimes x

@@ivy_nicolee I had the exact opposite experience. I had naturally an 'underweight' bmi for my height (but had perfect health) and became obsessed with trying to get a curvy/thick body and would become angry at myself if I didn't reach my target calories of 4000 per day and obsessed with calorie counting...very eating disorder like behavior, only in reverse. The whole time I was trying to force myself to gain weight I was constantly exhausted, looked bloated rather than 'curvy' had bad skin and hair and generally felt like crap. As soon as I stopped trying to gain weight I got all my energy and vitality back.

@@annie7367 Well I am very sorry to hear that was your experience. It may just be perspective people choose to take on the situation. I noticed as well that when I tried to gain weight but didn't exercise through it all, I also felt really crappy and not good. Once I was eating more healthy (cutting out oils & constant take away) to gain weight and exercising whilst doing so, I felt really good!

Mmmm, if you're following a good eating routine set by My Fitness Pal, I gained maybe around 300-500g a week? It may take a few weeks/months to physically see it in my body, but overall not that long if you're being consistent with it x
