For someone who travelled extensively in India in the 70s and 80s your videos have brought back many fond memories. It was good to see that chai is still served in clay pots which was the norm at one time when taking the train. I also recall seeing over-cooked rotis being fired into the street frisbee style and then eaten by one of the many street cows which are conspicuous by their absence in Jabalpur. Looking forward to the next video and will make sure I've eaten first or I will be a drooling mess.

You being with your parents reminded of own parents My mom would wait for me too and dad always brought some of my favorite goodies home for me. It made me miss my parents so much as they are both gone and I doubt that I will go back to India again. Enjoy them both and have a great time in India.

Thanks Chetna for taking us along with your trip to India and showing the tandoor chulla. Loved the Kesar dhabha shots you had included. And your parents are so so adorable. It reminds me of my India trip in November of last year and making me miss my amazing mother-daughter-dad quality time I spent with them. It is amazing when once goes by oneself without spouse as then one can just have an amazing quality 1:1 time and just be a daughter and no other role to worry about :). Anyways, enjoy your travels and wonderful time with your lovely parents. Loving your India travel vlogs ♥

sapodilla is what I call it here in California. However the ones we get usually comes from Mexico, so I'm sure they know much better. 😊 To me it tastes sweet like a pear, with a malty flavor or similar to molasses?

I am travelling to India on holiday next week. I am allergic to Celery, melon, cucumber and avocado so am quite worried about what to eat that may be similar to these. Although I am really looking forward to the different type of curries etc.

hope you have a lovely time
@aprilblossoms43 күн бұрын
Indian food is not just curry. I might be blunt here but we do have different names for the dishes and those delicious, complex dishes deserve to be called more than just “curries”. Regarding your worries about allergies, I would just avoid raitas, juices that might contain cucumbers, melons etc. avocado is not very big in India although it is getting popular.
@irisglasspoole23503 күн бұрын
@@aprilblossoms4 good morning. Thank you for your reply and the good advice regarding my allergies. I hope you did not think I was being derogatory regarding the use of the word curries. I absolutely love all types of Indian cuisine and our go to most Friday or Saturday nights is local Indian food. I am so looking forward to our trip and tying out all the different delicacies that are on offer. Kind regards

As a chef for many years, I'm fascinated by how much easier it looks to cook and serve wherever you want, without having to worry about surprise visits from restaurant inspectors. Especially all the outdoor vendors. Most of those kinds of places would not be allowed in the US. And what fun it would be to have a fresh vegetable cart rolling down my street! I enjoyed, but I couldn't expand the video to full screen, and also had a hard time hearing you.
