I don't know your relationship with her, but I'm going to be optimistic. She probably means you to be able to cook for yourself because cooking is a life skill. When you move out, relying on take out and frozen food all of the time isn't good. Drains money quick, and freshly made stuff is better than frozen all of the time.

I wish even I could have such amazing home cooked meals being at home too. My mom doesn't cook at all. My father cooks one meal a day which is mostly the most blandest meal they could think of, we only eat the leftovers all the time or from outside.
